For those that missed it, here is some results and facts.

This year the championships took place in the mountains of Vermont.  At Stratton Mountain Resort.

First off, Shaun White broke all known snowboarding records when he won the slopestyle event.  The slopestyle victory for the red tomato was his 12 consective win.  The kid is on fire.Volvo put two C70 convertibles up for the most valuable rider award.  Can you guess what male won?  Shaun White got a new ride as well as Hana Beamen.  Ski-Doo also put to new sleds up for grabs for the Outstanding Rookie Award which went out to Chas Guldemond (who almost took top spot from Shaun...) and Ellery Hollingsworth.  Mathieu Crepel was crowned the global ticket to ride (TTR) tour men's champion.  Congrats Mathieu.

The Burton Open started off Friday night with the Quarter Pipe.  It was a night session which meant that the spectors stood out in the freezing cold to cheer on the riders. Danny Davis won it for the mens and Hana Beamen for the females.  Pat Moore and Junko Asazuma grabbed the highest air to take home $2,500 each.

Sunday, the last day of the championships, hosted the final contest.  Slopestyle was once again taken down by Shaun White.  Chaz Guldemond almost gave Shaun a run for his money placing second and Jussi Oksanen won the Snickers Best Trick for $5,000 as well as placed third.  Young 17 year old Spencer O'Brien did a repeat of last year to finish just behind Hana Beamen for second place and super young 15 year old Jamie Anderson took home third place.  Tara Dakides won the Snickers Best Trick with a backflip melon grab for $5,000.

For some reason I find myself unable to stop watching the Promo Copy teaser, it's just that good! No really it's just so fun to watch. I've watched it about 20 times over and over again already. Oh if anyone knows the name of the song played, let me know!

So I'm up at 3:00 AM one morning not able to sleep, and what am I doing!?!? Why reading Snowboarder of course! In this issue 17/05, Dec. of 04, I found some pretty good things to quote. So here they are:

"snowboarding isn't just a pastime, it's the pastime of your life."
-Pat Bridges

"Tighteous and righteous."
-Bjorn Leines

"When you move too fast you can miss the things that mean the most."
-Tara Dakides

"The cheese curds are the best in Wisconsin."
-Chad Otterstrom

(For those of you down south who have never even heard of the word cheese curd, I feel sorry for you!)

"Gay Ski Week rules."
-Kris Wilson

"We are going to look back in three or four years and laugh at the things that are so in right now."
-Wille Yli-Luoma

"I wish there was a way to teach people to be different. Ask kids who Jamie Lynn is. He is one of the greatest ******* snowboarders in the world. People doubt Peter Line these days! What the **** is going on? People who doubt Peter Line have got to be out of their ******* heads. Everybody who has a job today in snowboarding has it in part because of Peter Line. That is what I have in my heart, the history of snowboarding. This new generation ain't thinking of s*** man. They never had bills to pay or were on UI or anything. They are 14 to 16 years old and are getting a paycheck. I feel sorry for those guys because the world will eat them up. Let them go by themselves when they are done with their career because they are not strong people. They don't know ******* s***."
-J.F. Pelchat

"Another thing I hope I can contribute is the truth that snowboarding is f****** dangerous as hell. It looks dangerous and it is, people get hurt."
-Lukas Huffman
