The 2008~09 season was incredible. We had a whole bunch of cool and unique guys and girls train with us this season and a lot of returning campers pushing their limits as well. Big backcountry jump days, deep powder runs, terrain park improvement, Core night park action, secret pillow fields, cornices, tree runs...you name it, we did it all. From novice riders sliding boxes and riding powder for the first time to seasoned returning campers grabbing their inverts, sticking larger cliffs and every level and experience in between.Good times, great memories, huge improvement and the end of the season video to prove it. From all of the staff and coaches - A huge “Thank You” to all of the great campers who allowed us to be a part of their winter season! It was an amazing season with all of you guys here and keep riding on.

Events/News - Whistler Blackcomb: It's ALL about the glades!
By: WhistlerBlackcomb

Day 15/30: As I’m trying to decide which adventure to write about, I’m getting far too distracted by the thought of fresh snow in the alpine. Could yesterday really have been the first day of spring?! Not on the mountains, not in the trees and not in my mind.

The other day I uploaded with two good buddies; Stu and Derek. Stu had his Vholdr cam so we were on a tree mission! It’s no secret the coverage hasn’t been good enough to venture too deeply into the woods this season. That was until last weekend when a huge storm hit Whistler Blackcomb dumping 158cms in total. So that was our cue to head out and rip some pow!

Stu’s been around these parts for ages, so I was expecting him to teach us a thing or two, but it just so happens we showed him some sweet spots he had never hit before. We started in Crystal by dropping off our bags at the snow fort, from there we headed to a super fun & short section of trees referred to as “the picnic table.” It’s literally a picnic table sitting on top of a knoll in the trees. It has an awesome view of the valley but that’s not why you go there. Below the table is a sweet pillow line, but watch your speed as it ends in tight trees and comes out onto a cat track.

Next we ducked into some tight trees to skier’s right of Rider’s Revenge; this took so much out of us! There was a big cliff in there that we had to maneuver around and that wasn’t too much fun. My advice, stick to marked gladed runs if you don’t know the area. These trails are actually protected bear habitat in the summer, so keep an eye out for the signage explaining the bear program. I would suggest checking out a glade like Arthur’s Choice or Outer Limits in the Crystal zone to get some good turns in spaced-out trees.

After lunch we zipped over to 7th Heaven to session the trees there. It was waist deep and untouched in places! I had such a great day laughing and shouting the whole time with good friends. There’s nowhere I’d rather be than a powdery tree run on Blackcomb!

Keep on shredding!

-Alex

Russia, I’ve always wanted to go there!! And here I am, landing in Sochi designated host of the 2014 Olympic games. The small airport stands by the black sea and I m quite surprised to see palm trees through the plane window.. We made our way through the taxi drivers  scrum, chose one of them by the size of his car and drove up towards Krasnaya Polyana.. It s a 45 minutes drive.. this place looks like a remote and small European resort.. but 40 years ago. Oakley is always a fun crew! Grete Eliassen, Gretchen Bleiler, Angeline who has missed her flight, Marie-France Roy who had some visa issues and will arrive a couple of days later and I.

The lift is sketchy!! You sit on that red metal 2 seater chairlift while the chairlift guy holds it by handcraft for 1 second.. your board on your knees as well as your backpack, gloves, ipod etc.. you are hanging about 40 or 60m off the ground and the lift makes weird noises.. or stops and runs the wrong direction for 10 seconds.. the way out is even sketchier! Same thing, the guy grabs the chair and you have 1 second to jump off and run with your gear in your hands…

Everywhere nearby the chairlift you can find some tough Russian body guards.. they looked scary.. but Gretchen got them to be our friends by getting them into our photo albums! So everyday.. they looked just mean and tough.. but when we showed up, they gave us their biggest smiles.. with hardly any teeth appearing or maybe a couple golden ones..

Never mind, it’s sunny and the snow looks epic.. but it’s really warm.. and yep it has been really warm and sunny a full day already, you should have been there YESTERDAY! It looked like fun hot pow but my board got glued so hard to the ground that I couldn’t even turn or keep my nose up! That snow was pretty much the worst you can get! No way to work it.. and worst was to come.. it rained for a week.

And still we went up and got a couple of jibs done.. there was no water in the house (no showers) but all was good..  cause the girls were soo fun to hang out with! While the skiers were building a wall ride, Gretchen and I took the lift to the top.. Super sketchy avalanches went down on the whole mountain! Wett heavy huge avalanches all over the place..  but the top stayed good.. cause it was just cold enough to keep it together.. That night we decided to drink it blue witch is an easy thing to do in Russia.. Anna showed Gretchen and I a couple breakdance moves, I painted on Shin’s face while Marie-France was holding him and thanks to Grete who puked that night cause it worked and got sunny the next day!

It had snowed and blown quite a bit on the very top.. and that was our chance to make it happen.. we hiked 2 bowls behind the top chairlift and found a couple lines, slashes and cliffs… the snow was super fun in the shady spots.. I was stoked to finally get to ride! And to slash pow YEAH!! The last run down was soo fun!! And then we had to traverse for about an hour and hike another hour to get back to the slopes.. it was  close to dark, all lifts were closed and there were both of Grete’s fans!! Waiting for her to appear out of the woods. What a good day!! It s funny how 1 good day makes it up for ten bad ones.

That was our last night in the mountains and we all went to the Russian Sauna to get  naked and beaten with branches by a Russian type of Tarzan!! The best thing ever!

We left to Moscow the next day and that was super fun too! The Red Square was on my to see list.. pretty mind blowing!  Thanks to Oakley, Shin, Anna and Marie for making this trip a trip to remember!

Stylewars 2008 presented by Oakley.
August 24-28, 2008
Falls Creek Resort, Australia.

A perfect day with sunny blue skies today at Stylewars meant the first day of competition at Australia’s most notorious snowboarding event went down like a bowl full of delicious poutine. The 45 invited riders from around the globe were annihilating the course with a level of snowboarding never before seen in Australia.

Ripping all day and finishing in number 1 and 2 spots respectively was the French Canadian connection (ie: Canadian Club) of Charles Reid and Matts Kulisek who were both sending and stomping their runs all day. Matts was unleashing huge frontside 7 to backside 7 combinations amoung some super smooth 900s. While Charles Reid was dropping insane frontside 1080’s and massive 90-foot corked frontside 360’s that had everyone scratching their heads.

Sitting in third is a very consistent New Zealand rider Jacob Koia who looks poised to strike for the lead. NZ team captain Will Jackways had one of the most interesting lines of the day with a perfect 90 foot backside 900 melon followed by a method from the step-over kicker landing on the side of the landing 80-feet away, stomping a method perfectly amoungst the rubble and grooming debris.

The course is a 3 jump line that consists of a 15 foot flat cliff step-down, a 90 foot high speed step-down kicker and a 75 foot step up/over kicker.

Stylewars 2008 – the freestyle marathon continues tomorrow with sunny days again forecast and riders amping to step it up the rankings for a shot at the Grand Master Title.

Tonight the parties start, a free/private concert for the riders with Australian Producer KATALYST and MC RUCL ready to bring home the first day.

The first two JumpCamp's rocked!

Mother nature was a real doll and gave us some killer weather and the snow conditions were soft and slushy, perfect for jumping and freeriding. Campers were stoked on all the new features in the park and all the natural terrain on Forbidden that we sessioned.

We even set up a cliff feature for some adventurous campers to launch. Campers really impressed me with their drive to learn new tricks and strengthen their riding. Tons of camper firsts went down over the course of the two sessions; First time grabs, spins, spins with grabs, inverted spins... It was insane! All the campers had a wicked time and really progressed their skills a lot. Thanks to all our sponsors and coaches for an amazing set of camps. Keep checking back for all the pics from the camps in the photo section of the site.

New JumpCamp whip: a quad.

Fresh pow in March? Yep, you got it. We've had some sweet days up the hill lately. With the amount of snow still on Forbidden we're going to be shreddin' into the summertime!

march 17 no lie eh.

Coach Olaf Larsen col' kickin' it in his mini dump. ( call Ole if you need anything dumped, he's your man )

Yummies and Gyros rule! They sponsor the camps and man are their gyro's good. I guess that's why it's called Yummies and Gyros. Go get yourself a delicious gyro or donair next time you're in Courtenay. Thanks to Katherine and the gals for hooking up the campers and coaches with those delicious beef and lamb delights.

JumpCamp Jam a hit! We shralped the park, barbequed some nice dogs, jibbed our brains out and then guess what? We shralped some more! That's right. Our broski Paul Henderson even came out to hang for the jam. We're gonna do another one mid April so stay tuned for the date.

Prizes! Our sponsors are the best!

Coach Doug Hardy teaching a valuable lesson on getting inverted.

JumpCamp session #4 March 29, 30 comin' up fast! Still a few spots available. Register today to secure your spot and improve your shred!

My Blog: Runway trip
By: anne-flore

Day 1
We are sitting on that oldschool chairlift in White Water BC, it s bouncing.. the slope is still untracked.. The fog is going up and the sun starts appearing behind the evergreens. The snow builds up on the trees,, they are frozen.. everything is white and crutsy, humid, fresh tracks, pillows, cold and heartwarming. Runs in the trees all the way to the road and hitchhike back to the lift. Small resort, 2 lifts.
This is how poetic the trip started.. and the crew made it all become funky and adventurous!  Leanne Pelosi, Janna Meyen, Natasza Zureck and I are following Shandi Campos and Scott in the deepest of their mountains..

Day 2
Crazy way up the hill this morning, cross avi passes.. huge avalanches. Danger zone.
The sleds go down, shandy saves us all.. I m on the radio.. I m so important with my radio!! Next one! Sweet and mellow Pillow lines.
Nat let her sled go straight into a tree.. half of it just commits to suicide.. the sled seems fine.. upper bowl I spit my lungs in the death zone. Cant see shi*t.. scared as hell..
Adrenaline I love you, best drug ever. Scott shreds down that line I was way too scared to do on his noboard! That’s the coolest thing by the way!! No Boardng? Love it!
Janna rips it on her sled!! She jumps even! Randy (Shandy’s dog) runs faster then any of us on the sleds.. and hangs with us all day up there! Warm and sunny. Christy runs over that other dog. Bamboo or meetball should we call it? The dog goes under the track of the sleds and gets spit out the other end. The dog seems to be used to it..
We find sick cliffs and sweet pillow lines.. the snow is epic! On the ride down a huge avalanche had crossed our track back.. our only way out.. we had to dig our way through tons of heavy snow! Happy day.

Day 3
On the third day we found huge rocks pillows field! Messy day.. tired day.. Janna is having enough fun for all of us! Huge airs out of that one sick rock pillow.. me hungry, me grumpy when hungry.. me not friendly when grumpy! Sorry..

Day 4
Janna is a sledneck, she went TTT (to the top) on her sled high marking way better then any of the sled duds.. scott fs 360 on that natural hit in the middle of his line on a No Board! What?! All the girls are killing it! We all stomped our cliff lines first track! We are all done by noon and just have a good time. The dogs are here too, they are so cool.. they just run all the way up the tracks and hang out with us all day..
lunar eclips and famly dinner.. good times..

Day 5
Tired.. sketchy avalanche area, no roping for the first time, it s really like surfing on snow. WE are all quite tired, lucky that Natasza is hard working for us all, and she didn’t die on that first try. We watch and sit in the sun. move the sled to sun  little by little as the shadow gets us.. wett boots tired back to our hobbit houses. Me tired, me even stop talking when tired. Good night. The week end approaches and it’s time for us to rest before we keep on shooting.. That was an epic week and certainly the most productive in a long time.. check next year’s Runway movie to see the footage!

My Blog: OMG
By: smashingeskimo

I can't believe I snowboard! I know, it's so much fun and a great lifestyle for adrenaline junksters. A little about me time, I grew up with my cousin as friends and we did everything together at that time. Basketball, fishing, sling shot, hunting, school, girls, biking, snowboarding, a listless of many things.  One day we watched x-games and had a pretty good time seeing people doing extreme jumps and tricks. Then, locally, There was a local store that was selling little snowboards for kids and beginners. We stole one of the kid's snowboard and almost every kid had one and if it didn't had any names on it, it would be stolen. Well anyway, our first snowboarding was sliding down a small snow pyrimid. We eventually made a small ramp for small jumps. We started doing easy tricks like 180 and grabs. Then we stared going for the bigger stages where theres more sliding and jumping. So and so, few years passed, I finally got my own board after he had gotten his own. The feeling of an endlessness and possibility cramped into he atmosphere was nearly impossible to be taken over by other fun activities. Few years later, we are now grown-ups, with experiences of personal problems that made us cut down from snowboarding. Yet, still snowboarding is still an awesome blood running activity. I am left alone with snowboarding while my friend fell in love and starting a new family and therefore, he is now under his own pressure support for his life. Taken away naturally, yet still supportive to him with my heart. Now I take on a passage journey to this road where I roam in any mountains and cliffs. Where my life, is set until God knows whats next. I am proud to be a snowboard.com member.

THE NORTH FACE AND MOUNTAIN SPORTS INTERNATIONAL ANNOUNCE THE LAUNCH OF “THE NORTH FACE MASTERS” 2008 BIG MOUNTAIN SNOWBOARDING TOUR

Snowbird, Utah, and Alyeska, Alaska, to host long awaited big mountain snowboard competition

Salt Lake City, Utah January 10, 2008—Enthusiastically expanding competition opportunities in the sport of big mountain snowboarding, The North Face and Mountain Sports International (MSI) proudly unveil The North Face Masters, a two-stop tour designed to cater to the motivation, talent and skill of world-class big mountain snowboarders.

“Open big mountain competition is very exciting to the development of the sport,” said world-renowned rider and The North Face athlete, Johan Olofsson.  “With the simplicity of a starting line, mixed terrain, and a finish line, what each snowboarder opts to go for during their runs will be the result of creativity, skill, and risk.”

The North Face Masters features a $45,000 cash prize purse and an opportunity for big mountain snowboarders to pit themselves against athlete and mountain alike.

The North Face Masters kicks off at Snowbird, Utah, February 8-11, where competitors can look forward to the notoriously challenging Little Cottonwood Canyon terrain littered with chutes, cliff drops, and the legendary lake-effect Utah powder. The North Face will award male and female champions of The North Face Masters, Snowbird, the chance to continue their winning streak at The North Face Masters tour in Alaska.  Airfare, lodging, and entry to The North Face Masters, Alyeska, AK, will also be awarded to the male and female winners of these other big mountain competitions:
·        Nissan Mammoth Quest (Jan 14 -17, 2008)
·        Mt. Baker Legendary Banked Slalom (February 8-10, 2008)

Stop number two will bring competitors to the epic venue of Alyeska Resort, Alaska, April 2-6, to push their limits against the Chugach Range’s palette of jaw-dropping steeps, couloirs, and wide-open Alaskan faces.  Adding even more incentive, final round athletes of the Alyeska event will be rewarded with a heli-drop at the start of the Finals, courtesy of Chugach Powder Guides, where they will compete in the final run on an area of Alyeska Resort  named “Big League,” a section of the mountain not open to the public until 2010.

“With the creation of The North Face Masters, the riders who live and breathe this aspect of snowboarding finally have a stage on which to show off their skills and creativity,” said Jason Ford, Group Publisher for Future US, home of Future Snowboarding magazine, The North Face Masters media partner.  “It’s been a long time since the U.S. has taken a good look at the big mountain side of the sport, so this is a huge opportunity for the riders, as well as the spectators!”

With the induction of the The North Face Masters 2008 comes the gathering of the big mountain snowboarding tribe from all over the world. All male and female snowboarding competitors over the age of 18 are welcomed to participate.

“Today's riders are redefining what is possible—they're taking the tricks and skills learned in the terrain parks to the big mountain environment,” said Joe Flannery, Vice President of Marketing for The North Face. “As a company that was born in the mountains, we're excited to see today’s brightest snowboarding stars with a venue that celebrates what they do.”

Fans of big mountain snowboarding can also catch complete same-day live coverage of the Semi-Final and Final rounds on the event website, where there are also videos, photos, athlete profiles, detailed event schedules, registration information and more.

I'd like to start off by saying, Will Smith is the shi*t! I Am Legend kicked total ass! The mutants, the way he lived..... Wait, I watched that the weekend after the trip. Ok, I got up at 7:00 on the 27th of December. I was up and dressed and running out the door with enough gear for the five day adventure I was about to go on. O yes, Powderking, Western Canada's best place to get that feeling of peaceful mellow shred and a friendly wave from everyone you meet. ( A great f*cking mountain! May it never close!) Not to mention crazy snowfall all season long! ( Thus the name Powderking. Duh! 61 feet last year, what more evidence does anyone need?) So we leave the yard by 8:00, our little convoy, made up of an F-150, a Mini-van, and an Envoy are off  on the 5 hour trek to P.K. As we pass Baytree a town not on any maps except the U.F.A Cardlock location map.... Weird.... As we get passed the little town we hit smoke, lots of smoke, smoke so thick that we're stuck at a 50 km/h crawl for 20 mins. I really wanted to get to P.K. for a half-day of shred, and by 1:00 we are there and it is snowing big flakes. So I get my lift ticket, and up the triple-chair I go. On my way down I run into a group of skiers and snowboarders building a jump on the side of the run. I say hi, we talk about the snow, gear, and the condition of the jump, and before you know it we're shreddin' together and jumpin' off trees into 4-5 feet of powder. (Fastplants and front flips for everyone!) A fine half-day. So we drive to Mackenzie, we check in at The Willingston Lake Lodge. We unpack and unwind with a few beers, some pizza, and Guitar Hero till about 11:00, than lights out.
The next day I go straight for the top, up the T and hikin' towards the bowl. As I get to the boundaries I can't find no trail, broken up into the bowl to speak of. So I start breakin' trail in balls deep powder, ( Its one of the toughest parts of snowboarding, having to hike for some shred but it the end its always worth it.) I get half way up the bowl when I look over to the left and I see two guys with snowshoes a little lower down heading up an already broke trail, I broke trail for nothing! So I start leftward and I meet up with the two guys, we start chatting about the conditions, and I find out there name are Matt and J (Jason) from Wembley and Grande Praire . "Dope, I'm from around a place called Falher." "Frenchtown!" they both say laughing, obviously they've been there before. So we get to the top and sit down for a break, than we strap in. Its still snowing as we head down, the first 20 feet is hard-packed than... BANG! We cut into 3 feet of untouched powder! Straight Champagain! We're cuttin' it hard and every hell slash is a wave of powder to choke on. Beautiful, just beautiful. So we ride on down into the trees, and sweet jesus. Slash and burn, kill and turn, we throw it off anything and everything. A total powder play dream! I'm so stoked on the snow I smile all the way down to the parking lot. Matt and J are staying at the hill in campers in the parking lot with a third member of there group, Dano. We get there and they invite me over for a brew. How can I say no? ( And every run ends that way for the rest of the trip. Those guys we're totally wicked!) So us 4 ride the far left trees up by the 84's and the two creek valley for the rest of the day. The day ends, I tell the guys I'll meet up with them the next day.
Day 3 rools in, and I meet them at there Campers and we head up the mountain. Its snowing, again. We reach the top, and I set up my camera, I want to get and Artsy, Sceneic shot, success. Another piece for EtchaSketch. (Our shred video coming out the summer of 08') Thats all I film that day. Than I pack back up and this time the spot we drop in on is a steep slope with snow sculpted behind and between small trees by the wind, thus making steps that are flat out to about 6 feet and drop down to about 10-12 feet. So we head down popin' off one step, and gaping to the next. One of the funnest abd best rushes of the trip. We keep the fun-fest  up until we hit the tree-line. Than it was Heaven, just like the days before.  I just ride the pow, never giving a second thought of getting any shots for the rest of the day.
The final shred day, day 4. It comes in with sun-light and blue skies. The first of the trip. (We got 8 inches of fresh while we were there.) So this day I ride with my goggle-cam on to catch any wicked shred that goes down. So we ride out into the backcountry and run into a man in his 50's at least, with a Prior split board and the dopest gear I had ever scene. We talked to the guy about the part of the backcountry we were in, and about his gear. He turns out to be the coolest guy I've ever met, truly a snowboarder, a man pure in the sport, he was what snowboarding truly should be. There for the ride and nothing elsa, no sponsors, no attitudes, just the need to shred and have fun. We say our good-byes and good-shreds as we rip down the slope, we never did get his name.... I want to be just like him if I reach 50. On our second last run we come upon an abandoned road on the side of the mountain, it goes through an open spot and is cut slightly into the slope to give the high side a cliff look. Perfect! We all get the idea, road-gap. So we build the jump in the line we want to hit it on. Matt and J hike up to hit it. Its a 30 feet from lip to landing. Matt drops in, lands square on the landing and rides away. We all cheer and the session starts right up. J's up, than Dano, than Matt again, than I hit it with my goggle-cam, as I air over, I hit the landing and get bucked forward onto my face. I get up, not hurting one bit. (Except for my pride.) I hike up again, this time I do a frontside fakie with a Stalefish in the mix, by the the time I stop tumbling, I'm looking up-hill at my feet. Damn, not getting it  but still having fun. (The only person to stick the damn thing was Matt, lucky prick!) So we ride down to the highway and start walking back to P.K. I wave to every vehicle, and got nothing but funny looks, I didn't care, it was one of the best riding days of my life! We're half way back when the owner of P.K. stops with his truck and trailer half loaded with garbage. "Wanna lift? Jump in the trailer!" We all jump in laughing, we keep on laughing all the way to the parking lot. (Thanks for the lift! It smelt bad, but damn did it save my legs.) What a wicked 3 and a half days of riding, awesome snow, awesome crew. I can't wait till I go back.

I'm forever hooked on the P.K. white!!

P.S. On the way back we stopped at the A&W in Chetwyne. They have the hottest group of ladies working at a fast-food joint I have ever seen. Go Chetwyne!!!!!

17 Dec 07  First time at Squaw...18-22 Jan 2008.  I can't wait!

18 Dec 07   Headed to 7 Springs in PA tomorrow.  Ridin' my new Burton Custom X Wide for the first time.  I'll tell you how it goes...

20 Dec 07   Most of the surface was packed powder at 7 Springs.  Some icy spots.  The Burton Custom X Wide held a good edge and was stable at high speeds.  I still like my Nitro Shadow, but the Burton is a great board...

17 Jan 08   This is my last post before I leave for Tahoe.  I'll be on the slopes from 18-22 Jan.  See you there...

6 Feb 08     Squaw Valley did not disappoint!  The terrain was great, the snow was great, and the night life was great.  You can do so many tree runs at squaw and very little is out of bounds there.  You drop in off of cliffs if you have the skills and there are so many natural kickers and jibs.  The best place I've been to so far.  Other places I've been:  Breckenridge, Keystone, Red River, Seven Springs, Whitetail...

4 Jun 08     I will be moving to Denver next year!  Close to the mountains...nice.

Hallo guys, my year was pretty fun actually, from parties to slopes, from contests to special events, from hard training days far away home, to really charming moments with the closest friends & crew.
A taste of different cultures & snowboard reality.I flied to  natural terrains i parks to film the esence of the snowboard, and one of those greatest places was Colorado, ridin' Aspen, Vail, Keystone, Breckenridge & Copper, With the support of real people with real style, real problems, real rockstar life, real funny faces, ones that will be drawn on my mind till' i dead.

This pic was taken, on the Slopestyle terrain at Breckenridge CO. USA.by Daniel  in the videocamera.
"i really felt it, see Jp flyin' to the next level in his beginner snowboard carreer is funny"
    Breckenridge CO. freeway park terrain.

This pic was taken by Otton, in an improvised kicker with a snow cliff to land near the Hotel Tres Puntas.
really fun shooting with the Still Underage new filming crew, Santiago and Lucas Perez, Iñaqui and me supported by OTTON BEANIES HAHA. Baka from Burton is in the videocamera.

"IN MEMORY" street session in Santiago. after the first snow in the city, we drive by, and hook up with some friends to shoot this rail.(first attempt in the history was taken last year by Pepo Parker RIPow dawg!, best rider, trainer, person, boyfriend, brother, workperson & son ever!) iñaqui irarrazabal AKA thashupael BLAER! kill it!

haha! well first of all...this was a dumb ass story of a film day with Heikki Sorsa & Shaun White, we where on a rock drop, just takin' a look and Santiago planned to drop it when this guys were filming, so the magic happens and he totally broke the landing so Heikki start to shout like crazy man! "fucckkk!"  we finished at the Giovanni's Restaurant cheering and apologizing to the little disaster local kids haha, see you next year badass!

As the spring was arriving, i was trying to get some fun Halfpipe moments before the Spring pipe Contests, one of those focused in the memory of Pepo.
pic taken by MAN, and there is our lovely swizz inspiration ROXxY just taking a look on my back!

in memory Pipe contest, only the closest mountain friends of Pepo were deleited with a sweet breakfast from hands of Manu & family, and Pepo's family...
awesome moves, i awesome food!

pic taken by Fips, at the US backcountry...

being faraway from home is dificult, but beautiful...Que pasa con los BRISS! cabin.

Also i love to skate when i'm not in the slopes or when we have bad weather on the mountain, is just feel some board on my feet and kill it!

Noticias - Snowboard.com Chile: Fuera perímetros!
By: Chile_Crew

Empezamos a subir

                                  TARO and KEIJI

Heart Films Interview PART 1

Name: Keiji TAJIMA
Age: 1978 06 06
Occupation: FILMER

Where is your home town and where do you base yourself out of?

TOKYO JAPAN. WINTER - WHISTLER.

How did you get involved with Heart Films?

I WAS FILMING TADASHI AND TADASHI SAID HE WANTED TO MAKE A DIFFERENT/INTERESTING VIDEO SO I CAME ON BOARD. I WAS FREELANCE FILMING UNTIL THEN...SHOOTING FOR BURTON, WHITE OUT, MAYBEM, ETC...MAINLY SHOOTING TADASHI...

How did you begin your career as a professional filmer/editor?

I WAS SNOWMOBILING IN WHISTLER TRYING TO BE A PROFESSIONAL SNOWBOARDER. I BECAME FRIENDS WITH TADASHI AND HE SAID WHY DON’T YOU BECOME A FILMER AND I STARTED GOING UP WITH HIM. THIS WAS AT A TURNING POINT IN MY LIFE…I WAS DEBATING IF I SHOULD QUIT TRYING TO BE A PROFESSIONAL SNOWBOARDER SO I GUESS THIS WAS ANOTHER OPPORTUNITY TO STAY IN SNOWBOARDING BUT AT LEAST MAKE A LIVING IN IT. IT WAS ALMOST IN A JOKING WAY BUT IT BECAME SERIOUS AND REAL. TADASHI SAID IF I WANTED TO BECOME A FILMER I CAN STAY LIVING MY LIFE ON THE MOUNTAIN AND STILL BE INVOLVED. NEXT SEASON I STARTED AS A FILMER 100%. THAT WAS WHEN I WAS 26 SO THAT WAS 3 YEARS AGO…AND I HAVEN’T LOOKED BACK.

What did you think you would be when you were younger?

I THOUGHT THAT I WOULD BE A BUSINESS MAN. SOMEONE THAT WOULD GO TO AN OFFICE EVERYDAY…LIKE MY DAD.

Did you ever aspire to be a professional snowboarder/skateboarder?

YES. I TRIED SINCE THE TIME I GRADUATED HIGH SCHOOL - FOR 7 YEARS! I HAD A SHOP SPONSOR BUT IT NEVER WENT ANY FURTHER THAN THAT. NOW BURTON HELPS ME OUT AS A FILMER AND TADASHI AND YUHO ARE ALWAYS LOOKING OUT FOR ME...

What was your first photo/video you ever took?

I TOOK VIDEO WITH MY LOCAL FRIENDS AND MADE A LOCAL VIDEO. I LIKED THAT I CAN FILM SOMETHING AND IT IS A MOMENT THAT LASTS FOREVER.

What was your most memorial day this season?

WHEN TADASHI LANDED A 1080 IN THE WHISTLER BACKCOUNTRY...OR WHEN TADASHI GOT SWEPT DOWN THE MOUNTAIN IN AN AVALANCE…

Your worst day this season?

I DON’T KNOW…MAYBE WHEN MY SLED BURNED AND MELTED ON TOP OF THE MOUNTAIN IN THE BACKCOUNTRY…2 TIMES!!!

Your best day this season?

I PUT MY CAMERA BAG DOWN AND HAD A LONG POWDER RUN WITH EVERYONE IN THE BACKCOUNTRY. WE WERE SCREAMING OUR HEADS OFF. I ALSO HAD AN AWESOME TIME DURING THE HEART FILMS CAMP WHEN WE HAD A BONFIRE AND STAYED AWAKE UNTIL 4 IN THE MORNING…

Why do you like to film?

I LIKE FILMING BUT I DON’T KNOW WHY…I LIKE IT WHEN I CAN CAPTURE THE IMAGE ON FILM THAT IS IN MY MIND…I LIKE WHEN THE PEOPLE ENJOY THE FOOTAGE THAT I HAVE TAKEN…

Do any riders stand out to you?

TADASHI - OF COURSE! THE WAY HE IS, HIS STYLE - OFF AND ON THE SNOW - THE WAY HE TAKES ACTION, THE WAY HIS MIND IS SET ON SNOWBOARDING AND THE GOALS AND DREAMS HE MAKES INTO REALITY…

Favorite shooting location/style?

I LIKE THE BACKCOUNTRY BECAUSE IT IS QUIET AND I FEEL MY HEART THUMPING…I LIKE THE CHALLENGE OF FINDING NEW TERRAIN AND IT IS LIMITLESS OUT THERE…

Gear?

PANASONIC DVX 100A AND A BOLEX 16MM.

Sled?

2007 Ski Doo Summit 800 151.

Do you prefer video or film?

I LIKE FILM. I LIKE IT BECAUSE IT HAS A SOFTER FEEL. THERE IS A FEEL WITH FILM THAT VIDEO LACKS...

Truck?

A BEATER 1987 NISSAN KING CAB 4X4.

What do you do in the off season?

I HELP EDIT THE FILM. I ALSO WORK 12 HOURS A DAY, 6 DAYS A WEEK - DELIVERYING SUSHI SO I CAN SAVE UP FOR THE UPCOMING SEASON...

Where and who would your dream trip consist of?

I WOULD LIKE TO GO TO ALASKA IN THE SUMMER WITH MY NON-SNOWBOARDING FRIENDS SO WE CAN HAVE SOME TIME TO HANG OUT. THE SCENERY IS PROBABLY SUPER SICK AND VERY WILD AND PRISTINE...

If you were given 1 million dollars today, what would you do tomorrow?

I WOULD CONTINUE EDITING THE FILM AND THINK ABOUT THE MILLION SITTING IN THE BANK…

Has being a snowboard filmer put you in a life or death situation?

YES...ALL THE TIME. AVALANCHES, BEATER TRUCKS, LONG TIRING ROAD TRIPS, FALLING OFF CLIFFS, BURNING SLEDS THAT MAY EXPLODE…

Who are other filmers/photographers that you admire?

I LIKE THE WORK OF NEIL HARTMAN. HE HAS A GOOD CONFIDENCE TO HIM AND IT SEEMS LIKE HE TRULY LOVES WHAT HE DOES…

Who usually comes up with the ideas for the shoots?

MOSTLY TADASHI. WE ALL HAVE INPUT BUT TADASHI HAS THE LOUDEST VOICE AND AMBITION…

Advice to other aspiring filmers?

SHOOT THINGS THAT ARE ENJOYABLE. SOMETHING THAT YOU WOULD LIKE TO SEE. FIND GOOD FRIENDS TO SHOOT. DON'T WORRY TOO MUCH ABOUT THE EQUIPMENT…AS YOU GET BETTER YOU WILL ACQUIRE BETTER EQUIPMENT. ONE STEP AT A TIME. AND IT IS ALL ABOUT THE IDEAS!

Within Heart Films ? Other than Tadashi, who do you think deserves the best part award.

EITHER AKIFUMI HIRAOKA OR SHOTA SUZUKI…

Who works the hardest?

TADASHI…ME!!!

Special THANKS?

TADASHI FOR GIVING ME A CHANCE. EVERYONE AT HEART FILMS. MY PARENTS, SIBLINGS, FRIENDS AND MY GIRLFRIEND, SACHI...ALSO SPINY SNOWBOARD SHOP!!!

Heart Films Interview PART 2 - Taro Koeji - FILMER/EDITOR

TARO AND KEIJI ON BLACKCOMB...

Name: Taro Koeji
Age: 1972 08 29
Occupation: Filmer/Editor Clothing producer - (Zerosen)

Where is your home town and where do you base yourself out of?

Sendai Japan. Whistler - winter.

How did you get involved with Heart Films?

Tadashi and I were talking about it 2 or 3 seasons ago…Last year it finally happened. I have known Tadashi before he became a pro snowboarder…He worked at a rental shop and I worked at a skateboard shop…We knew each other for over 10 years…I was making a different snowboard video so I had other commitments but finally we started it last year.

How did you begin your career as a professional filmer/editor?

I made skateboard videos in Japan and I learned how. I used to be a snowboarder and took footage of Tadashi and Jun and I enjoyed it so I started doing snowboard footage as well. I was taking footage for the guys so they can check out their snowboarding and Tadashi was doing crazy things…Things I could not imagine doing...So I started shooting more and more and riding less and less. I learned everything by trail and error..

What did you think you would be when you were younger?

A Pro Baseball player and then a pro skateboarder…

Did you ever aspire to be a professional snowboarder/skateboarder?

Yes. I even rode for Burton back in the day…

What was your first photo/video you ever took?

Tadashi’s video when we all lived together in Whistler when we were all starting out…

What was your most memorial day this season?

When Aki almost died in an avalanche…It was the first time that I saw an avalanche right in front of my face…I was always careful in the backcountry but that day was a wake up call. I felt that I needed to be able to ride my sled better and be more conscious of the dangers of the backcountry. Also Aki’s cab 9 was sick!

Your worst day this season?

There was a few of those this season…I rolled my sled and the sled ran over my head. THANK god I had my helmet on…My sled was rolling towards Tadashi and Takumi and I thought that they were toast as well as my sled was a right off. At the end, the sled rolled and luckily came to a stop before the next cliff band and everyone was okay…

Your best day this season?

There are so many of those too…Every time I went out on my sled was a good day!

Why do you like to film?

I like that the riders push themselves and do things that I can not do or imagine…I like capturing that. The feeling you get when you capture a good shot feels so good. I like how I get to see the action live…As I capture the image for everyone else to see. I have front row seats…

Do any riders stand out to you?

Tadashi - of course. He lands everything. His actions are fast. Everything about him is awesome…If you go up to the mountain, you will know Tadashi’s greatness…

Favorite shooting location/style?

Whistler backcountry. There is always something to shoot and it is always so much fun to explore. There is no greater place to shoot than the Whistler backcountry…I like street too but the backcountry is so new to me so I am addicted to it.

Gear?

Panasonic DVX 100A and NIZO 801 macro and Nikon Super 8.

Film or video?

I like both video and film. Video is convenient…it makes voice recording easy too…film has a nice feel… Sled? 2004 Ski Doo Summit 800 151.

Truck?

1995 Chevy K2500 4X4 with a Bulldog double sled ramp.

What do you do in the off season?

There is no off season…I shoot skateboarding and make my clothing line…

Where and who would your dream trip consist of?

A world wide trip with my friends and wife!

If you were given 1 million dollars today, what would you do tomorrow?

I would be thinking of how to use it. I would choose my own riders and shoot around the world and go everywhere on helipcopter!

Has being a snowboard filmer put you in a life or death situation?

Everytime you go into the backcountry, there is a possibility of death…

Who are other filmers/photographers that you admire?

I like a guy named WADAPP. He is a skateboard photographer out of Japan…I also respect DICE K MARU because he has a lot of good photos…

Who usually comes up with the ideas for the shoots?

Everyone.

Advice to other aspiring filmers?

Do what you love. If you want to be a filmer ? do it. That’s the only way. JUST DO IT.

Within Heart Films - other than Tadashi, who do you think deserves the best part award.

Akifumi Hiraoka of course…He works hard…You'll see when you see the DVD...

Who works the hardest?

KEIJI…

Special THANKS?

THE HEART CREW - Friends, My wife Hitomi and my family.

"up north" in Door County....stayed on a beach, went hiking around some caves and cliffs, capsized a sailboat in some freezing cold water!
Doesn't seem like Wisconsin to me ...but then again I've never been to that part of the state before! haha it was too pretty to be Wisconsin...like the ocean or something

It was like a boarder cross race. After we went down the mountain, we had some beers and chicken wings.Chicken wings are so tasty! Some are spicy and some are sweet. When I went to Alaska, I ate chicken wings all the time.Everybody loved it.We had so much fun free riding. Riding with friends is the best!

2007.03.26 Monday

Another exhausting day.

This is Takumi! I went shooting via sled with Tadashi, Taro, Keiji, and Shota. The weather could've been better but we managed to get a few shots when the sun peeked out. It’s going to be sunny tomorrow, and we will go shooting from early in the morning! Gotta get a good night's sleep. Good night!

ROAD GAP

Hey it's Keiji! Yesterday, early in the morning, we went to check out the very famous road gap! The members were Tadashi, Takumi, Shota, Dice-K Maru (photographer), Taro-san (videocameraman) and me.

Tadashi can imagine how the landing would be. We came here for the first time in a year and...the slope is really big as I was expecting... If the gap is compared to a building, the building would be how many stories?(^^;) The snow around there was bad and it was dark, so we decided to try this next time when the condition is better. Before we left this gap, we played long cast with snow balls and we tried to hit a piece of wood. It looked easy but it’s not actually. We started to get pissed off that nobody was hitting the target! Tadashi hit the target first and he got beers from everybody! He used to be a pitcher so he was good. Taro-san was 3 base and also a switch-hitter. We threw too many snoballs, like a 100 and now I have pain in my shoulder. Shota was the worst and he has to buy coffees for us. It was raining so we took the day off today and I went to the skate park with Tadashi. Since the skate park is under ground, the air is not clean but we enjoyed ourselves and broke a sweat. Now my muscles are sore.

Snowing Whistler!

Today, we went to a spot where it took an hour by car. It’s nice to go somewhere different. It’s so exciting searching for a nice spot. It's so much fun. Today’s agenda was to hit some pillow lines and Shota and Takumi did some awesome cliff drops. Their lines were pretty cool. After that, we moved on in search of a better place but we couldn’t find any. It’s really hard to find a nice spot, I’m telling you. I want you to know this! (Though its fun trying...)

03/22/07

2007.03.22 Thursday

Hey, yo!This is Keiji the filmer again.I went filming today with Aki & Koni.It was cloudy but we shot some mushroom lines and pillow lines. We had to wait for the sunlight to drop in, and it was tough but we got some nice shots despite the conditions.

  ↓ ↓

In the afternoon, we looked for a place where no one had been to.We kept getting stuck again and again!

2007.03.21 Wednesday

I’m hungry----!We were filming too!!Yesterday, it was nice weather and we did some shooting. Our crew was Taro(video cameraman), Takumi, Shota and me(Tadashi). It was sooo much fun! Shota and Takumi are funny guys. They took forever to double up but they made it! I knew the brothers could do it. It’ll be fun to follow their carreers. Everybody, wait till you see the photos and videos! They are killing it!

03/21/07

2007.03.21 Wednesday

What a relief...We gathered at the parking lot at seven thirty in the morning. The members were Aki, Koni, Maru-san, and me(Keiji). The nice weather made us high. (^^)

The snow was deep and a lot nicer than we thought. No one had come out yet so we had to make our own track to get to the top.But before we arrived to the spot that we had marked out, the other crews like Devun Walsh, Chris Dufficy and Sandbox came one after another and the “spot race” began. Devun’s crew was so fast... They shot a nice spot without wasting any time. We have to be like that...

Aki did a jump and it caused an avalanche and he got carried away a little bit. I was so frightened but he wasn’t hurt at all and he continued to film until nightfall.

We all came back safely and our sleds had no trouble today.I realized the immense values in this.Alright! We will kick ass tomorrow by drinking yummy beer tonight!

DAY OFF

2007.03.20 Tuesday

This is Koni bringing you some news from Whistler under uninspiring weather.I’m at Tadashi’s place now. There are many books, DVDs, rare skateboard decks and some other interesting things. There's Grand Sumo tournament on TV, wow Kakuryu won by a frontal slap-down. It was quick. I took a day off today. The reasons was that my body got worked in last night's session, and the weather is bad. So I decided to go skateboarding in the evening. There is a skate park underground. “Under ground” it’s not just “Under ground” but on the third floor in the basement. We had to take the elevator to get down there, and it’s like going to a hideout. There is no fresh air so I can’t stay there for a very long time or I will get sick. So I just skate a bit and break a sweat and then take off. After I left the hideout I enjoyed coffee at Starbucks.I spend my days off like this. It seems to be bad weather tomorrow too.I want to go snowboarding!!! I’ll wake up at five o'clock am anyway with my fingers crossed!

03/19/07

Waiting for sunshine.

2007.03.19 Monday

Hey, This is Keiji.I went filming with Aki & Koni with our sleds.

We thought that in the morning it would be sunny so we left the house earlier than usual! The other filming crews were also gathering around the gas stand.

But when we got into the backcountry, there were more crowds than I thought and the visibility was very poor. We had to wait for the sunshine to get any filming done. Timing matters. It was tough to find the right timing for filming...

That night, Aki & Koni, Maru-san, Taro-san and I did some sessions at the Heart House.

Aki did a front side 180 and back side 180 from 50-50.Koni was trying to do some fun tricks like jumping over the wood rail. But he tried to jump over the last wood rail and bailed super hard.He fell dangerously but he was OK. Whew!Nice try, Koni!

  03/18/07

2007.03.18 Sunday

Hi, there! It’s Taro.(heart’s filmer)When I woke up yesterday morning, it was snowing hard so we(Takumi, Shota, Maru-san and me) thought we could do something so we went to shoot near the house by sled.

We looked around for a spot and then Maru-san suggested one.Takumi and Shota scoped the area while we prepared for the shoot, then the snow became rain!

Since it turned to rain, we went to look for another easier spot and found this place.

Maru-san and I were having a hard time protecting our cameras from the rain.Takumi and Shota tried some tricks although they were wet, and we were able to do some filming because of their effort.Takumi, Shota and Maru-san, you guys did a good job today!

 03/17/07

2007.03.17 Saturday

Snow...!!!Powder!

14cm of new snow!I was so excited about going to Blackcomb with Tadashi! The weather forecast said it was getting warm in the afternoon. But when we got to the parking lot, it was already raining. We reminded ourselves that: ”It is only raining down here, up there it is snowing for sure!” and jumped onto the lift. But unfortunately, it was raining all the way to the top!In addition, there were strong winds. The strong winds were killer. The rain spoiled the long-waited snow...That’s life. I hope we have another snow fall!

We had fun in our own way despite the bad snow.

We found this unique kid. His lift ticket is too long!Whistler kids have a lot of energy even though it’s raining.

03/16/07

2007.03.16 Friday

Yo!Hellooo. My crew (Aki & Koni and me-Keiji) went to another spot.We scoped for a place to shoot some fun tricks. The weather was getting bad in the afternoon so we played with our snowmobiles and came back. (^^)

This is the place where Tadashi, Aki, Maru-san and I camped out with our sleds last year.

2007.03.16 Friday

Wassuuuuuuup? This is Taro (filmer).Today’s members were, Tadashi, Takumi, Shota and me.We went up to the mountain and...shi*t! I fell!I bailed when I was driving up a long slope and my sled rolled down over my head! Thank God for my helmet! THANK YOU MY HELMET!After the sled hit me, the sled went down hill all by itself and ran straight toward Tadashi and Takumi with unbelievable speed.Thankfully the sled stopped before it hit Tadashi and Takumi. It was miracle!I was worried about my sled hurting my friends, or what if the sled got broken?! Luckily, nothing bad happened and my wound was only a scratch.

After that we filmed here.

Tadashi, Takumi and Shota did really nice tricks for a total of nine times and it was cool to see them ride in person! It was worth getting hit by my sled!! Thank you riders.I’m looking forward to editing this footage for everyone to see in our DVD!!Ladies and Gentlemen, please wait a little bit more. Thanks!! Three riders were caught in an avalanche.

03/15/07

2007.03.15 Thursday

Yo! What’s up? This is Keiji the heart film’s filmer.I went shooting with Aki, Koni, and Dice-K Maru today. It had been a while since it was cold and today was a very cold day so there were some cars on the side of the highway because they had slipped on the ice. Some areas of the highway were closed. It was pretty bad. The weather was awesome so that I thought it’s going to be a great day, but... it wasn’t. My sled had trouble and I felt disappointed and sad. At the end of the day, I got a good shot with Maru-san and everybody’s help.

Aki & Koni

2007.03.15 Thursday

Hellooo! This is Taro the heart film’s filmer/editor.I came to Whistler and now I’m crazy about filming and my MAC!!Recently, my life consists of shooting and coming back in the evening, taking a shower, drinking some beers, do some work on my MAC, and then going to bed.In the heart house, there are Aki, Koni, Shota (who got a new MAC lately), and Takumi, who joined us yesterday and me. It’s nice and comfortable.

In the morning, I was about to start my sled and I couldn't find my key! Damn, I did it again!!It was so nice today so I must go up to the mountain to shoot so I went to the snow mobile shop and spent 40 min. each way (by car) to make a spare key quickly and come back. I kept everybody waiting in the beginning of the day. I’m so sorry everybody!Today’s members were Tadashi, Takumi, Shota, Jeff- (Burton’s cameraman), and me.

The places were like this.

We rode some other places so I’m looking forward to checking my film.Filming and shooting are far from finished, so I am keeping my spirits high and enjoying everyday and the challenges that I face.

Hi there! This is Keiji - the filmer.Today, I went to AKIHABARA looking for some new camera gear. There were many geeky shops like NAKANO broadway (did you know?) or maybe it is more maniac.People in AKIHABARA are quite characters! (^o^;)

Besides AKIHABARA, here is another report from the Moon Park Session.

We remade the hip and started a session. The shape of the item was like spine at a skate park. It’s like two quarter pipes stacked. Can you imagine? Sorry for the poor explanation…

bs. Unpredictable Kosuke. Back side Rodeo.

-from Tadashi- Yo, what’s up!? Everybody snowboarding??Before I go back to Canada, I went to the local mountain called “Crico Snowpark” at Yonezawa, Yamagata. It was a nice day of chilling and drinking beers and snowboarding. It was great!!! I gave Heart stickers away to everybody. I met some old guys who were hill climbing and had a party with them. They seemed very happy to drink beers!

03/02/07 moon park 02

moon park 02

Hey, this is Keiji - the filmer for Heart Films. The Moon Park Session held from Feb.26th to 28th at Inawashiro was a hit!We were lucky enough to have our session in good weather at the Moon Park. We finished our shoot but we hope to continue with Moon Park and add extra features and keep making our ideas into reality. It is not a big space but there are many fun items. On the last day, I put aside my camera bag and had fun riding too!I liked the feature with the five jumps in a row. It was super fun to see all the riders do a whole bunch of tricks and one up each other and hit the jump all at once. It was crazy! The riders said that their heads were spinning doing so many back-flips!

2007.03.02 Friday

On the way back from the Moon Park… We stopped to shoot on the way back from the Moon Park Session.Aki, Shota, and Hiromi were there. Hiromi wasn’t in her best condition so she cheered us on.The spot was a deserted house. It's a spot that would be super scary at night, but under the fine sky it was a nice place to shoot. Aki chose the spot and Shota riigged it up and Hiromi cheered! The three riders had a fun time capturing some interesting images.

We just finished our 3 day shoot at “The Moon Park Session” with no problems.

The Moon Park Session was incredible! Tadashi Fuse’s vision for a fun park was built and created by “brave projects."All the “heart films” riders rode great and the filmers captured some sick shots for the DVD, HEART FILMS vol. 2!Transworld US cameraman Dice-K Maru and TWS Japan photographer, ZIZO, were there shooting the nonsense.Special thanks to everybody who came to the park!!The DVD and the photos will exceed your expectations!Don’t miss it!

Its early morning, the sun is just rising over the eastern horizon… The clouds lay low, because of the soft and precious morning dew… As many lay asleep, still trying to gain strength for today's work day, here I stand on the side of an unknown and unconquered mountain top…I take a moment to sit and listen to all that is around…though silence fulfills the air, I hear things that many humans wouldn't count as hearing… I hear things like determination, skill, power, fear, vengeance, pride, and courage… And right as the sun light gently presses against my face, I am off… Soaring down the side of the mountain, go here and there… Jumping and falling off cliffs that most would fear, I take them on and perfectly land, thus continuing down the hill… Swerving to the left and right, it is like I am floating through the clouds of air, nothing can stop me from enjoying this moment… All of the sudden, an avalanche occurs, and I feel the rush of snow behind me… I decide then to head straight down to attempt to flee from the bewildering snow… Colors start to fade together and sounds become muffled as my speed increases dramatically… I see this ledge coming up, and even though I have no idea what is on the other side, I take it… Within seconds I am flying through the air, probably 100's of feet up above the ground… The avalanche is right below me, if I were to fall down right now, I wouldn't make it… But to my luck, the avalanche has made trees bend, so I head straight for them… B*ng! My board crashes against a bending tree sending wood pieces everywhere… Balance is the key to success, and like in an asian movie, I hop from tree to tree grinding my way down the mountain side… The forest has protected me and stopped the avalanche… And as I ride down the last part of the mountain side, I slow down to stop and turn on the chair lift… "Dude, where were you man? You just missed this awesome avalanche…" My buddy would say to me as we attend our jobs… And my reply would be, "Oh, just out snowboarding."…
