©Richard Mitchell/Retna Ltd. In Memoriam: Heath Ledger

I was saddened to hear of Heath Ledger's death. He wasn't my favorite actor or anything, but I had noticed that recently he was expanding his film roles to an amazing degree. From Bob Dylan to the Joker in the upcoming Batman film to a confused cowboy to the infamous Casanova, Ledger was all over the map.

I remember watching A Knight's Tale recently, and seeing Ledger before he became A-List famous. He looked eager and young, but you could see that he was really trying to capture a decent performance, and he succeeded. You see the same thing in the Mel Gibson film The Patriot, Ledger bringing depth to what could have been a shallow, one note characted. Ten Things I Hate About You? Same exact thing.

His final film performance will be in the new Batman film The Dark Knight. With buzz that his performance will eclipse Jack Nicholson's iconic interpretation, maybe we will finally see just how good he really was.

My Blog: News Just In!
By: JumpCamp

This just in: Forbidden has over 400cms mid mountain!! Possibly the most snow anywhere on the planet.

Well, all the JumpCamp coaches are just psyched this year with all the powder dumping down so far. We've been on some killer trips to Mount Cain as well as a few sick trips into the backcountry snowmobiling. The snow's been so darn deep that we've only yanked our sleds out a few times so far. Coach Javan Wyker has been taking full advantage of this year's conditions. He's planning on having another kid so he's got to get all the shreddin' in he can this year before he's on double diaper duty. Check out the Javdog launching the "Ole" drop on Forbidden.

My main man Curtis at Edge Performance has rebuilt my sled after I ran it out of oil last year. Smart move, I know. Go see Curtis if you need any sled work done, he's the best.

New Coach Myles Delange has been shralpin' it hard this season. Here's a pic of him launching one of our cabins up on Forbidden. We've got so much snow that we're riding the roofs! Check out Myles' new bio on the coaches page of the website. Welcome to the family Myles, now you can never get out.

Cover Of Comox Valley's Health and Recreation Guide!

Shred dawg extraordinaire and currently injured JumpCamp coach; Morgan Stevenson, graces the cover of the Winter issue of CV's rec guide. Yeah Brah! Did you stick it? Thanks to Allan at Comox Health & Recreation and Brad at Logistica Systems.

JumpCamp China Story.

Ni hao. Ni hao ma? We've got four articles coming out in China's only snowboard magazine; "Speed". Here's the first of four. It's all about the history of Forbidden Plateau and all the myths and legends that surround it, but you'll have to take my word for it if you don't know mandarin. Thanks a lot to our friend Ali Waugh for hooking us up. Xie xie.

Did you see our ad in the SBC Ski & Snowboard Resort Guide 2008 Annual? Nice eh.

Camps are filling up, get those registration's in to secure your spot.
That's all folks! See ya in the hills.

My Journal: whatever
By: brahskee

so ya, bunch of shi*t happened the last 2 years of my life have been great and also the worst of my life, lost my gf, really sucks but we move on right. Girls and friends, family, they'll be there or they'll leave but one thing i can count on that i know i'll always love and do is snowboarding. that's it, it's simple, but it keeps me happy without relying on anyone but myself and the snow.

i'm not beach ready by any means, but i'm here anyways. got into cali yesterday and first thing i did was go and see berta's personal trainer which was actually pretty rad. chile was amazing and i bet you're all jealous. we only had one day to really film because of snow conditions, but boy was that day fun. got a sick front three scorpion off a cornice and some dope slash shots. thanks to hooper, curtes and sus for gtsing the whole time we were there. did more modelling than snowboarding i think, but got to sled a ton which was rad. oh yeah and pisco sour is officially my new favorite drink...i love it. drank way too much pisco and red wine and heard some epic stories. condored it up a ton, played lots of f*ck kill or marry and got some epic quotes. got to hang in santiago for a day and go to the market..you know, got to be a tourist. oh i ate raw meat! man chile's dope. stoked to learn to surf and just chill for the next like three weeks. it's going to be good times. didn't get nominated for rookie, but little e's going to kill it. if she doesn't...i might have to beat some ass!  miss my bitches as always.

slushcup diaries 2007 011.jpgso this was slush cup.
It was not as good as this picture suggests.
On the other hand, I got my stoke for the shred back... cant wait for C-OP BABY!!!
It kinda rained a bit, I got a little sick from something. Chantal showed up, FIDDLE FADDLE WAS IN FULL EFFECT! For once. And yet, like the elusive yeti/sasquatch/bigfoot/hairy broad... There is no photographic evidance. Oh well.
I was a pretty big gnar kill most of the weekend, being a sulky bitch cause jacqui didnt show up. But such is love, such is life. Let er go brah!
There was some funny shi*t that happened though. HAHA, terry, jay, roderigues, and gina were having a shopping cart race down the alley... and wango! A cop just appears, and is like CONGRADULATIONS YOURE ALL WINNNERS!
and made us all walk the shopping carts all the way back to safeway. I lughed so hard, I pee'd 3 drops. 3! Also, fell against a wall cause my legs gave way to the laughing!
Lets seeeeeeeeeeeeeee, shred, fidd fadd, sick, everyone ditching out... what an incomplete end to the season. BOOERNS I SAY!!!!!!!
Untill next year bitches!!!!
one love!

Tahoe Brahoe, Mammoth Shmammoth...
Still in Tahoe, still Bluebird everyday, still getting hotter, still having fun. Went to Mammoth for a couple of days and had a car accident on the way. But thank God for full insurance and rental car policies. Got a new car the next day and continued our trip to the "place to be in snowboard land". It was fun, but not worth all the hype. Thanks to Vicci for letting us stay at her house. Andre, Clemens and Marek have left our wonderfull Boarder-Community to go on a road trip to Norway, while I´m here with the rest of the guys and gays gettin´the shots in the slots...or whatever.

Hey, does somebody here know how to upload a picture in the Journal? I´ve seen people that had it, but I´m to dumb to figure it out.
