just realized i haven't posted anything new in forever... well.. maybe not that long.  but close.  i don't have my forever-th birthday for a few months still.

anywho, not sure if you guys noticed, but have you heard?... times are tough.  people can't afford their houses, cars are being repossesed, people are being laid off and banks... yes, banks, needed to borrow money from the government.  i thought they were the ones who lent money to people?  crazy times i tell you.

i thought i'd share some money saving tips to help you all out in case you are finding times tough.

1. don't buy toilet paper... use yesterdays newspaper.  not only will it work at removing the feces, but you can get some gratification wiping shi*t all over that jon arbuckle in the garfield comic.... you aren't funny!

2. unplug your clocks during the night... i mean come on.. who needs to know what time it is while they are sleeping right?

3. encourage not cleaning up spilled food.  if you have cats, the mice the food brings in will provide free pet food.

4.  bring your rolled canadian pennies to the states to cash in.  that way, you'll get an extra 10 cents per roll with the exchange!

5. for christmas, buy people $50 gift cards for places that they rarely go to... that way, when they never get around to using it,  no one will even notice that you already spent the 50 bucks and just gave an empty card.

6. save on water by not showering.  not only will it save on the water bill, but you'll save even more when people refuse to accept your dinner offers.

7. learn to love e-bay, craigslist and kijiji... not just buying things cheaper, but you can sell not only old clutter at your house, but your re-found 'virginity'.

8. get all your drinking done in one night.  though it may not sound like a money saver, the next morning, when you wake up and say, 'never again', you have just given yourself at least a week before your next bender without having to hop on the wagon.  and on that bender, drink fast and on an empty stomach.

9. cancel that gym membership... come on now... its obvious you aren't using it fatty.  you aren't fooling anyone.

10. stop purchasing any type of prophylactic be it the pill or condoms, might as well be money in your wallet instead.  because after all... if you follow the other tips on here, no way does anyone want to sleep with you.

hope these tips help and if you are able to save a couple bucks, feel free to buy me a beer next time you see me.

Effective April 1 - 30, 2003 the Forest Service will be implementing and enforcing a Supervisor's Closure on Vail Mountain, which will prohibit unauthorized access to the Minnie's Deck area where the end-of-season BB&B event has occurred. The Forest Service issued a directive to Vail Resorts under the terms of their special use permit to shut down the BB&B event on Vail Mountain. Historically the BB&B event has taken place at Minnie's Deck and the event had evolved into a gathering of as many as 2,000 people. The behavior of participants posed serious risks to public health and safety as well as caused resource damage. The Supervisor's Closure will be in effect to ensure protection of public health and safety.

So, with a stroke of the pen, the US Forest Service ended the infamous end-of-season party on Vail Mountain, ending a 22 year tradition.  Know by many variations, Boobs, Boomers and Beers; Buns, Boobs, and Beers; Boobs, Booze and Brews, etc, (BB&B) was held on the second Tuesday in April as a way for Vail valley residents and employees to blow off some steam at the end of the season.  The event started in 1980 as a small end-of-season birthday party on Minnie's deck. BB&B devolved into an orgy of drinking, snowball fights and raucous behavior. During the last several years, partiers spent days before BB&B building large snow forts, stashing large quantities of alcoholic beverages, and, too often, hauling up more illicit substances.

Historically, the end of season party probably started much earlier with the Great Race.  This season-ender was usually held in Lionshead and People would dress up in all kinds of wild costumes. A photo of Vail local hooligan Packy Walker standing on the winner’s podium wearing nothing but a fig leaf and his gold medal made the front page of the Vail Trail newspaper. After Vail executives and lawyers killed that event people continued to get costumed up and party at Minnie's Deck.  In those days it was called the mountain formal.  Costumes included top hats and suits as well as high school prom dresses, horrible powder-blue tuxedoes and ballerina tutus.  The event grew and was combined with Warren Miller’s Mad Mountain Marathon and the Rubber Legs Slalom.  The race involved 150 or more slalom gates at the bottom of Vail Mountain and the event raised money for local charities.

When I was there in the spring of 2002, my brother Travis, his wife Michelle, Mayela and I went to the BB&B.  We all carried backpacks loaded with beers, booze and buds.  When we arrived at Minnie's deck the atmosphere was relaxed and people were lounging on the deck in the sun enjoying the event.  We set up camp on the deck and in one of the nearby snow forts crafted by a group of Beaver Creek's happyshack community.  We took some runs and explored the other various snow forts in the woods.  It was amazing the elaborate complex of forts and the adornments within.  Some had full Ice sculpture bars complete with barstools carved from compacted snow.  Others were complete igloos with only a small portal in the roof for ventilation.  Another was an elaborate maze to thwart cops and security spies.

As the day continued, there were jam sessions on the numerous rails that had been created in the woods.  One was a 50 foot long triple wave that dumped out into the main area opening.  Eventually the traditional snowball fight erupted with the main focus from the snow forts surrounding the opening at Minnie's deck.  Some forts were equipped with water balloon launchers.  A couple of times I snuck out through the woods with my snowboard to take runs down born free.  After riding the gondola back up to the top, I'd come rolling into the woods with my pants down and flipping the crowd off in my black afro.  The trick was to ride fast and get to the fort as quickly as possible.  Poor unfortunate souls that tried to follow in the wake turbulence of my entry would get blasted into oblivion.  I would stand on the wall and yell out obscenities to the enemy forts.  The response was a furious barage of snowballs.  People were getting pissed because we were getting bombed with snow.  One time, standing on the wall, I took a water balloon launcher shot to the chest that blasted me flat on my back.  Heffe came right up like a  medic with the Jaegermeister bottle to nurse me back to insanity.

In the evening when security starts to herd everybody out of there is a Chinese downhill of sorts.  This race to the pub progresses down the mountain. There is one particularly steep pitch where people who are so f*cked up that they just take their skis off and hurl themselves bodily down the face, laughing their drunken asses off.  I came up to the edge and launched the hand bag I was carrying as high in the air as I could--only to find out Mayela had her camera in it.  We all ended up at the bars in Vail village till the weee hours of the morning.  It was amazing.  I'm glad I got to experience the greatest party on earth before it was over.  Good times

As kind of a sick footnote to all of this, the event has been commercialized in a couple of different forms. Never shy about making a buck off the sweat and toil of the locals Vail Resorts promptly christened Siebert's Mad Mountain Marathon and Beaver creek Blues, Brews, and Bar-B-Que. There is no limit to the depth of slime with Vail Management.

Duff's Bday Party at the Molson Brewery! Rep of the Month.

Duff celebrated his 19th Birthday at the Molson brewery this weekend. Here's some of the action I captured in between the many free pints of frosty cold Coors Light.

What a great time. Free beer, pizza and front row seats to the Duff and friends flex off. Martins called it about 20 minutes before it happened.

Even Tom Lee from POP printing made an appearance. Above he closely inspects the print quality of Duff's head.

Rep of the Month:
Rep of the month for October goes to Benny Couves for his feat of extreme office boydom with a pickled ollie at the Tofino park.

Yeah Couves! You win the left over Coors Light from our Monster Sale located in the mini fridge at Trustus.

The season kicked off this past weekend with the freestyle.ch in-city event in Zurich, Switzerland. For the snowboarding part of the action sports show, the biggest names in the game gathered on the lakeside of "Downtown Zurich“, including Burton shreds Mikkel Bang, Chris Sörman, Marko Grilc, Peetu Piiroinen, Wang Lei and last year's winner Stephan Maurer.

The Burton Euro Squad was busy all weekend throwing it down on the 37 meter tall ramp, the signing session marathons and the late night parties. And everybody scored at some point!

We will stick to talking about the official competition on snow here: Peetu Piiroinen opened his season like he ended the past one – on the podium! He only got beaten by Stephan Gimpl and Hampus Mosseson, and landed himself in the third spot with high scores for his Backside Rodeo 7 Tailgrab and Cab 1080.

Great atmosphere also at the LAAX booth on Saturday during the Burton Euro Team Signing Session – all dressed up nicely in the “10 years BEO” Birthday shirts. On duty for the Signing Session were Mikkel Bang, Marko Grilc, Chris Sörman, Stephan Maurer, Sina Candrian and Peetu Piiroinen.

It's official. I am a clown. I attended Colorado Clown school for 10 weeks, and I graduated about a month ago. No, I'm not kidding. I really am a clown. I'm currently teaching myself how to juggle, which I'm doing very well at. Next is making balloon animals. Then I can start doing events and birthday parties or something.

And holy shanp I'm moving out in about a month. I'm moving out the day after my last day of school, then I graduate a week later. couldn't be more excited! Anywho, I need some more friends on here. So leave me a message or something and we can talk.

Peace out, hombres!

The snow keeps falling here in Whistler. We now have had 29 feet of snow that has fallen so far this year and over 3 months left of the ski season. We are offering training all the way until the end of April for our groups and custom training into May. We are busy planning our 'World Trips' and the NZ Trip for September is up on the web site if you would like to come.

Over the past month we have had loads going on.

We successfully completed our second road trip for the season down to Mt Baker with our 12 week campers and were met with fantastic conditions. It was quite the adventure as I found out that my wife Karen was going into labour just as we were putting in our first powder runs of the day at Mt Baker. The day was a real blast for me. We shredded powder all morning with sunny skies and then rallied back to Vancouver to make it just in time for Baylee to be born - you really can't beat that for a day to remember. Check out www.pro-ride.com/diary.cfm for the pictures of the day.

Instructor Results

We have had excellent results from our Level 2 crew who did their exams and a couple of them who wanted to work have already been hooked up with employment with Whistler Blackcomb for the remainder of the season. A good friend of ours who does the hiring for the school came by the camp house and chatted with the crew about how to gain employment with the mountain and at the end of his session offered work to the people who were interested.

Jump Day

We have a backcountry style jump day planned for Friday which should be a blast. We have snow forecasted all the way to Friday which is going to make for super soft landings. As a bonus, Cooler - European Women's Life Style Magazine will be on hand to document the activities. Jump day just happens to correspond with one of the campers birthdays so it is going to be quite an affair.

Competition News

Lots of great results this month from the crew. Ryan Rausch has been travelling the globe and is dominating as usual. Crispin Lipscomb was in Italy for the World Cup Half Pipe and took the win for Canada. This is only a week after winning the Showcase Showdown. The boy is on fire!

Next Years Programs

All of next years pricing and dates are up on the web site so now is a great time to secure your place for the long term programs. We have already had quite a few bookings so if you are keen please drop us a line to let us know. You can register at www.pro-ride.com/register0809.cfm - all of this years long term programs sold out and we are again limiting the numbers for next year to guarantee the best training available world wide.

This Seasons Programs

We now have a few places remaining for 1,2 and 4 weeks starting from March 22nd and 29th if you are keen to come out and ride. (Our group training sessions will run all the way until the end of April.) The conditions are excellent and we have loads of snow to get us through to the summer. The World Ski and Snowboard Festival is on again April 11 - 20 so this is a great time to come out. Hello everybody, it’s time for a new O2 Blog. As I told you in the last Blog, I was going to an North American EastCoast Trip with Isenseven for 3 weeks in february. We were a pretty big and good mixed crew of 6 Riders, one Filmer and one Photographer and our idea was to rent two RV in New Jersey and drive up the whole Eastcoast up to Montreal and stop at some areas to do some Urban riding or whatever we find to hit with the snowboard. So after our long journey from Europe we started our trip with holidays, left our boardbags closed and spent 3 days in New York. Our Isenseven „Daddy“ and Filmer Vincent was the only guy of our crew who has been to this amazenig city before and he showed us around... the time in New York was great, we spent our time on top of the Rockafeller Cemter, Times Square, in crazy good Night Clubs and Gay Bars, visited a OK GO Concert, ate good food and spent a lot of money for new clothes... I took a few pictures with my O2 Nokia N95 cellphone for you. Photobucket Photobucket Photobucket After the 3 days in New York we where a little bit sad to leave this great place but also excited for the next chapters our trip will bring. So we drove to New Jersey to get our rented RV’s, went to the Grocery Store to buy a lot of food and booze Photobucket And drove 6 hours up to our first destination Burlington, we had pretty good luck with the snow because as soon as we arrived it was dumping very hard and it was getting colder. Our American Rider in the crew Travis Limogue who used to live in Burlington showed us around and we got pretty sweet stuff done... and even delicious self-made hot dogs Photobucket Photobucket After a few days we continued driving and went up to Montpellier a small town one our away from the canadian border, there we visited some friends in the Rome Office, the Sugarbush Mountain Resort and some other guys who gave us some information about Rails and Urban Stuff, but we just spent less time in Montpellier because it wasn’t too good and we wanted to continue to drive up to our last Destination upper North, Montreal. Photobucket We spent the most of our time in Montreal because there was so much snow and good spots to hit with the snowboard. We also had a few pretty nice guys like JP and his friend in the Skateshop and Guilliome. Big props to those guys for helping us out so much and showing us around. But unfortunetly inbetween our Rail Sessions, great food experiances, Card Games and Sauna visits. Chris Patsch broke his wrist while hitting a Ledge in Montreal on his birthday... but we went out for party with him anyway this night, this evening was just amazeing weh ad such a good party with nice people, Champaign and a lot of Vodka. After our long time in Montreal our trip was going to end, all of us where pretty exhausted and really looking forward for a shower and a real bad so we left Montreal a day earlier and drove the down to New Jersey in on day to have our last day and night in New York again. Which was going crazy in the Annex. All in all, it was a great trip! Photobucket In a few days I am leaving for another Isenseven Trip to Colorado, you can read how this trip is going to be in a few weeks. Keep watching my profile and I wish you a great March. So i am getting another year older... making me a solid 22 years of
age. My B-day is this friday and we are going to have a little rager
in the city. I am teaming up with my buddy Eli because our birthdays
are a day apart. You will become more familiar with Eli Wener when
you see him golfing with Logan and I in an upcoming episode... he is a
hoot! Check the Birthday flyer below to view the style we are going
for. You can also expect the partying level possibly reach us losing
our shirts like in the other photo below... because that is not rare
to happen with us. I also will be drinking really big beers because
they taste way better. Feel free to stop by Lola's on broadway street
at 9pm on March 20th if you wanna have a great time. Seacrest out!

-Jbone

PS Send me any of your ridiculous b-day photos and we'll see who's are

Within 16 days, 6 hours, 6 minutes and 6 seconds I’ve realised one thing. My name is Dominique. I wish I could say I was an angel, or maybe an animal, but the truth be told I don’t even know if I’m here. Or what genetics would twist my fate to see what colour I once was. Even though I’m a part of you I failed to connect what strings mould us together like a puppet that once wept without a hand to pull the strings. I sit and ponder then realised I will never make it to my 6th birthday. I guess for you to understand you must know my life…….

I was born over 200 years ago, precisely 232, in the year 1709 back when whispers were more than words and my bones 2ft down walked the earth with tremor in the winters storm. I lived in a town 304 miles south of London in a horse stable with my mother. For our daily feed mother would steal an apple for me like clockwork till one day she didn’t wake up. For 2 months I lay beside her till the smell became unbearable as mothers body decayed to blend with the horse facies that lie beside her body. Monday the 4th exceeded any logical date to give her one last kiss but I did. I lifted her head and held it in my perished arms but couldn’t help but notice the bugs that made their home amongst her rotting face. As I give her one last kiss tear drops fell from my eyes to drown mothers cheeks. For a reason unexplained its only numbers that mattered to me. 24 days, 17 minutes, 34 seconds, still counting. 4 horses, 2 pigs, 14 piles of maggots and only 6 days of sleep that stood before me finding my mother again. By morning winter plagued the town like the rats that once stole mother. I decided today the sores on my feet will bleed one last time as I walked outside to feel the snow beneath my toes. My first white Christmas. I played all day till my tears froze to my cheeks. I knew it wasn’t long. 4 days till I turn 6. All alone I sat beside the weeping willow shaking till the snow numbed my body. I close my eyes begging god not to leave me all alone. I was scared. 3 days I cried icicles and no word. 3 days it took the snow to cover my body. Tomorrow was my birthday. And I’m all alone.

My name is Dominique and I’m still waiting…………. Now you know my story.

My Blog: Day 48
By: Mandingo15

48! Next day out will be at least. This is why one should get a pass! My knees feel great for this many days in a season. I have been going bigger on jumps than I have ever before, but lost my nerve to spin on Xmas Eve after shattering my helmet. (Simple 180 on a trail rated green, aint that a b%^ch!) I am off sat-tues as Tuesday is my birthday and gonna get some serious riding in and my nerves back, as long as this flu is gone by the weekend. 51 days by my birthday would be sweet!!!!! If I am back to everything within my ability, that would be sweeter, cause it makes snowboarding all the more enjoyable for me.

I LOVE Japan!! Stoked to be there again for the Burton store Opening in Osaka!!

Japanese Madness. My ears and my eyes are overwhelmed lights, sounds and people everywhere.. polite, polite, maybe impossible, karaoke my favorite, sushi, crazy fashion, mini crewsers, best spray toilets ever, sake, photo, photo..

The cool thing on that trip was that we weren’t stock just between snowboarders.. Sweet to have Nicolas Muller in the crew as always but also gravis surfer Kassia Meador and Analog’s  Arto Saari!!
To honour japanese traditions we serve sake to all people coming to the event.. obviously we cheared with them, each of them and had a sip! But that was alright since there was only about 700 people.. Arto (wearing an dupa stylish 80’s wig) takes the mike and welcomes the crowed to the store opening with the gayest Carl Lagerfeld’s attitude ever!! Very fashionable..
The sake session is followed by a 3 hours signing session.. I find it hard to find 700 different very special dedicated comments to give to each of them.. so I just got artistic.. I drew moustaches, pretty flowers and about 650 I LOVE Nipon.. it s like writing fitness!!

Japanese people like to fire us with their digi cam.. so I just fire back with my plastic one way use camera!!

That super people shower luckily came to an end and the whole burton extended crew went for dinner.. I sit next to Moblow and his wig, he tells that girl who was wearing a moustache something like she was nice and doll, or something like that.. she didn’t like it and answered that she could beat him up.. I said he would love it!! So she punshed him in the eye and left him with nothing else then a black eye.. you shouldn’t mess around with those girls who wear the moustache!! The night goes on to a karaoke bar.. my all time favorite!!
Marc and I end up walking with no where to go in town.. a guy is pying in the street, I run and catch the perfect moment and angle.. all his friends laugh, so do i.. I really wish I hadn’t forgotten the cap on my almost digi and actually got the shot!!

The next day, the snowboarders crew travels to a dome.. tons of people come to watch.. they are like an orchestra.. I make them do the HOLA.. I take some family portraits etc.. everyone is so happy and friendly here!! Trevor sings, we sign tons of things.. everyone politely waits in line for hours.. that is what impresses me most from Japanese.. they are soo patient and respectfull!

The next day we are all in Tokyo for he first birthday of the burton store.. everyone sits down like kids in school..cute!! they watch the movie.. we get a huge cake in snowboard shape with bindings.. Jeremy Jones claims he is gay, some more pictures, signing and graffity later I drag Arto, his sushi and Moblow to a gay bar on a Monday night.. everything you need to become intimate with the bar tenders!! Some more karaoke and this trip made it to my top 3 favorite trips ever!! 1000 Thanks to my friend Kosuke who makes each of my Japanese experiences magic!!
