News and stuff: 5 Kale vids
By: ISDesign

Yesterday while enjoying a couple apres coldies up Grouse Mountain it was brought to my attention that Johnny Bones hadn't seen Kale's 3am pie video. This made me realize there's probably a boat load of people who've missed out on a bunch of pure Kale gold. Below is just a peek into his wild wild life.

E N O R M E S !!

M A L A D E !

Opening day photo bananza continued....

Here's the rest of my photo's from opening day up Whistler.

Mr. Hore in the massive line reppin' hard.

Adair and Boyce on the chair.

The visibility was decent for the first couple runs.

Dev and Duff on the chair in front of us. I was hoping to get some action shots and I guess I did....

Apres action. Dev keeps it classy with a mini beer.

Apres shots. After our first couple rounds Duff shows up with a tray of tequila. Yes, our last run of the day was amazing!

This was my view of the local Vancouver mountains on the way to work Today.

My Journal: en francais
By: noahwilcox

I wish i had something incredibly thoughtful and deep to talk about but it turns out that i'm really sshallow. So i guess i'll talk about skiing since it's the new hot thing, why is skiing so deeply infatuated with the french language. In skiing it's not a trail it's a piste, it's not a cabin it's a challet, and i don't even want to begin to thunk up an alternative to the word apres. Maybe it has something to do with resorts wanting to be more like there european counterparts, or maybe it's becauyse the speak french in the alps, but the also speak italian there too, but you don't hear people saying "let's go to the loggia for a cup of chocolately drink"

Well damm that was a quick holiday - got there after 48 hours because the plane cought fire (seriously) so missed my trip tto vancouver and headed straight there)

Whistler truly rocks (well Blackcombe does more)

Got there and had no snow for a few days so toured the mountain searching for powder stashes, found blackcombe to be the better mountain with more gnarly terrain (chutes , cliffs etc) up at the top of the t bars in and around the bowls and some great hikes - however the new sympanthy ampitheatre rules too.

then had abouy 4 days of powder so hit the mountain hard and fast

unfortunatley too fast as i broke my hand on a lame lazy 360.

carried on boarding though for the next few days allthough damm did it hurt when i landed on my hand

my sister had flu so missed a few days  and met some real cool people - wish i lived in vancouver as the people in whistler are so firendly

signing out as powder hound howoooooooooooooooooooo

ps creekside apres ski very nice bar

My Blog: Baaaack...
By: Bigsta

Well, what can i say, blue skies and perfect conditions,  (all things considered)... Got flu on day two and felt like a herd of French Rugby players had been kicking me all over for 36 hours.. shivering and sweating all at the same time is always entertaining..   Aaanyway, got out of bed for all but 1 day and had quite a few 'world spinning' moments whilst doing runs...  bet people thought it was sambucca related... if only it were true..  The new board behaved itself exceptionally well.. really improved the riding no end, just seemed to pop out of turns and ask for more...  very pleased indeed.. (super stoked)...!
Val D'isere and Tignes, still my 'favourite' French resorts.. just cos there's 300km of runs.. no chance of boredom.. just every chance of having to get the bus home... Sad to say the apres ski was limited due to the general 'close to death' feeling which came over every time i moved... but there was lots to be had and some great last runs into La Daille after the obligatory dance and beer at the top of the orange... The one night i felt ok and made it out, a guy in our group spilt 3 pints on me which obviously improved the mood no end...   Aaaanyways, i guess that's the snow fix over for another year.. Hope to hear some of your stories soon...

My Blog: day of it
By: nickj

for all yo fella's who want to know what i'm up to here's an email i sent to the olds;

i wish i could could say i haven't written for ages cos i've been busy working but really i've had too much spare time and just been sleeping too much, not much else to do in soelden but drink and go snowboarding, so heres an average and dull day in the life of nickj:

wake  at 6 or 7 cos its a little lighter than dark, hit play on itunes or dvd player, look out window to check weather (still in bed) yip i can see the mountains its sweet lets go/f*ck its snowing, tree runs are on!!! dvd ends/itunes puts shi*te song on, roll outta my tiny cot like bed which i have 2 of?! pour a bowl of muesli and think about how it takes too long to put snowboard gear on, by 9 i usually have all my gear on, made a small lunch loaded my pack with the toys for a day in the hill. about now i walk out of the house to the elevator and ride to the ground-floor, cross the road and hop on the gaislachkogl gondola, this thing take ya from 1300m to just over 3000m in 10-15 min! from here its a quick warm up on 1000m of vert to a 6 seater chair which pulls you back up to 2700m, a short ride to another chair gets you to the goldengate gondola which travels across a hillside to the glacier ski area, another gondola scoops you up from the base of the glacier to about 3300 meters, so by now an hour has passed and i have one last short run left to get to the park and start work, to ride from the ridge-line where the top station to the park is is impossibly steep so the bloody euro's put the trail down the easy side of the mountain then made a tunnel thru the ridge to the next glacier on the sunny south side (where the park is at present) which i ride thru, and pop out about 400m ride from the park, meet up with locals and lap the park and glacier until 230 when the sun sinks behind the hills and at 3000m it gets f*cken cold, so with a short chair back to the top of the first glacier we ride down back to the goldengate gondola take a second chair to the winter ski area of giggihoch, home of the busiest slope in europe, and the park when we get some more snow. from here we either drink some beers or start the decent into town, 1500 meters of it, just like triple treat at TC but in the trees and way longer! just classic as we zoom past crazy euro steez, one pieces and the like, with so many little hits on the trail, we must be an intimidating sight, train of xxl riders launching off any roll in sight weaving thru shaky legged punters! all comes back to haunt you when the trail emerges by an apres ski bar, oompa loompa music blaring away and drunk ski holiday participants fresh off the slopes chugging the dearest drinks on earth! which of course is countered by the cheapest in a supermarket 100m down the road! pick up some of the said beer or go annoy mates in the sport shops  then its off home, now and then my boss and his girlfriend drag me into a bar and we drink til late, but mainly its back to the parkhaus, yes my flat is the top floor of the parking garage! here i eat dinner, rice based cos I'm cheap! and goto bed by 8 cos i've got everything done!

today we looked at the area where we will put the park and thought of different ways to use the land we have, hope to get to use some land lower down which will give us 3 large jumps in a line, well its now friday night, ill drink a few beers here then head to one of the many bars in town and see what is happening, i would say I'm gunna go and pick up but i loose interest when the girls blow cigarette smoke in my face with every sentence!

all goin well i start shaping on the glacier on sunday, and we'll get more snow to move the park just after new years

Frank's Blog: Christmas Day
By: snowme

Merry Christmas to all my fellow snowboarders!!!!

Lets hope that some white gold falls from the sky and brings us lots of pow from santa's house.

But lets not forget that pow is not only whats important. Lets be grateful for what we have, although it isnt 10 feet of pow here in the east,  you should live the moment and be grateful for what we have. Dont forget your friends or your family, cause without them, it could get really lonely at the top of a ski hill or mountain by yourself.

Riding a 10 mile long trail of powder alone is not nearly as fun as riding a 1 mile trail of granular with the people that make you laugh, and cry while you are laughing. And lets not forget how boring the apres ski would be without those people

On Oct 28th, this past Saturday Skool the premiere apres hours club opened its doors to Blue Mountain's very first Halloween Havoc. We put a $200 bar tab on the table for the best dressed costume of the night. After the judges discussed and argued 'Teen Wolf' came out on top with the 'Two Musketeers' getting the honourable mention.

Jagermeister was the life source behind the party providing blood and the funds to make it happen. We even had a girl dressed up like the reindeer logo. Dracula's wives were running around the blood martini's were flowing and the awkardly dressed people were dancin! I meant to spell that wrong

The party was sweet thanks to snowboard.com, Vestal, NOMIS, Banff Ice, Jagermeister, Universal Music, Lady Sovereign.

check out all of the photos at:

Let me know what you guys think and stay tuned for the next party mid December...

After a fun season riding in wanaka i'm left wanting more, now i'm all excited and am off to europe in search of more snow.
i've spent the last few weeks sending emails all over austria trying to find a resort that would take me on and this week a positive reply came from sölden. its actually a pretty massive resort hidden away in western austria and quite a party town, last time i was there was 2 years ago on my first tour around europe, spent a week in the village went up to the glacier once but didn't do any riding! shame on me! i did however do Alot of drinking and partying, so easy to get drawn into the apres ski thing and drink til near death, so hopefully in the 6 months i'll be there i'll knock out some runs and hopefully visit all the wanaka crew spread in the area, definatly goin to go to maryhofen, st anton, ahh i'll be here for hours listing all the resorts i'd like to visit, anyway back to the present and its heating up in wanaka, working my ass of trying to get some more cash together, easy to do now that town has emptied out and the motivation to party has gone with it, and look foward to fun times traveling around.

so the summer winds up and with that i will find myself unemployed and stoked for the winter. a road trip to the coast may be in order with some of the muchachas. we found ourselves with some snow a couple weeks ago. a forty party and evening jib satisfied the early season needs. my thumb is feeling slightly impaired since that night though so a trip to l'hopital is in my future. people gone to school, people arriving back from summer adventures, namely suze who i missed tremendously while she spent her summer surfing in tofino, but is back just in time. matt coming out for a visit and some early season hockey, also something to look forward too. but mostly excitied for snow, friends, laughs and good times! wishing everyone the same.

GATHERING AT THE SHERWOOD HOUSE ON SATURDAY THE 30TH...

CLOSING DOWN THE HOUSE
DJ SHORTY
HOURLY DRINK SPECIALS
$10 COVER

ALL SHOULD ATTEND, PROMISES TO BE A RIDICULOUS TIME

Also, Sunday Sherwood Staff Party, apres fete in Banff at the Magpie.
