Peanut Butter and Rail Jam 2009

Peanut Butter and Rail Jam 2009

Seria imprez jibbingowych spod znaku Volcoma ponownie atakuje Europę.

Volcom is proud to announce that Gigi Rüf will be rocking Volcom outerwear and riding Volcom snowboards for the 2008/2009 season and beyond.

Gigi has been a part of the Volcom family for more than 15 years. The young Austrian made his first trip to Volcom when he was just 12 years old. At that time Volcom Art Director, Ethan Anderson sent Gigi home with a hand made Volcom card. In the card EA wrote “Christian aka Gigi- Thank you for coming to America and hanging out. You rule. You are the future keep it up. Ethan”. The future is now.

Stylewars 2008 presented by Oakley.
August 24-28, 2008
Falls Creek Resort, Australia.

A perfect day with sunny blue skies today at Stylewars meant the first day of competition at Australia’s most notorious snowboarding event went down like a bowl full of delicious poutine. The 45 invited riders from around the globe were annihilating the course with a level of snowboarding never before seen in Australia.

Ripping all day and finishing in number 1 and 2 spots respectively was the French Canadian connection (ie: Canadian Club) of Charles Reid and Matts Kulisek who were both sending and stomping their runs all day. Matts was unleashing huge frontside 7 to backside 7 combinations amoung some super smooth 900s. While Charles Reid was dropping insane frontside 1080’s and massive 90-foot corked frontside 360’s that had everyone scratching their heads.

Sitting in third is a very consistent New Zealand rider Jacob Koia who looks poised to strike for the lead. NZ team captain Will Jackways had one of the most interesting lines of the day with a perfect 90 foot backside 900 melon followed by a method from the step-over kicker landing on the side of the landing 80-feet away, stomping a method perfectly amoungst the rubble and grooming debris.

The course is a 3 jump line that consists of a 15 foot flat cliff step-down, a 90 foot high speed step-down kicker and a 75 foot step up/over kicker.

Stylewars 2008 – the freestyle marathon continues tomorrow with sunny days again forecast and riders amping to step it up the rankings for a shot at the Grand Master Title.

Tonight the parties start, a free/private concert for the riders with Australian Producer KATALYST and MC RUCL ready to bring home the first day.

Shred news, latest stories, scandalous photos, gossip and up-to-the minute rumours
Well well well, where to start?

Yes, the JumpCamp season is officially over. We had an amazing year with five wicked camp sessions and even had a bonus session at the end of April because of all the snow. Campers came from far and wide to progress their shred skills and strengthen their freeriding skills and man, did they. Everyone loved the new obstacles in the park and took full advantage of them. We even got snowed on during the bonus camp. Fresh powder in April?! I mean c'mon, fuggedaboudid! Keep an eye on the photos section of the site for the rest of this year's pics and footage. Thanks to everyone that shot photos during the camps.

It's BBQ time!
Camper Lex hits the polejam with style.

See, snowing... Told ya.

Coachman Ole Larsen showin' some campers wassup.

Coach Update ( like anyone cares )
This time of year all the bros go their seperate ways working and taking care of business to pay for trucks, sleds and sandwiches for next year.
Myles is off in the interior of BC treeplanting. Haha poor kid...
Doug is in Cali making $ at skatecamp. He might even move out of his Dad's house this year.
Ole is "working" on Denman. He's planning on converting his mini dumptruck into a snowcat for next year.
Patrick just got some metal taken out of his ankle so he's layed up for a few weeks reading gardening and landscaping books.
Matt, Joe and Morgan have been tubing down the river in wetsuits.

Last Shred On Forbidden
The season's have finally changed and it's been real hot lately on the Island. Everyone's in summer mode getting their bikes, hawaiian t-shirts and skates out. The snow on the mountain has been melting fast so we thought we better take advantage of it and ripped up Forbidden for one last shred.

As you can see, not too much snow at the bottom of the hill.

Coach Joe Conley enjoying the Forbidden Plateau driving range. Joey is extremely excited about integrating more golf  into JumpCamp  for next year .

Coach JoeCon goin' for a dip in the pond with the mutts.

Coach Matt Trigg working on his tan. The Triggerman looks real good with a bronze glow.

JumpCamp is expanding! We're getting into the mountain bike game with skills camps and tours coming out this summer. Keep posted at JumpCamp.com for more info.

JumpCamp movie coming out next year! Yes, my friends we're finally editing all of our footage and putting out a shred flick so keep posted for premiers, parties, etc in the fall...  It will most definitely shock and inspire all viewers.

JumpCamp Art Contest

My Journal: Ah Kindergarten!
By: cazza21

I really enjoy teaching kindergarten. And I like to let my students learn by playing, exploring and just plain havign fun. So today when a table of my girls went a little crazy with the paints, I let them. I figured they all had a change of clothes, and the paint is washable. Plus they were learning about mixing colours.. mainly that if you mix all the colours together, you get this great ‘purply-black’. Now, as much as they can get paint on them, I wear a lab coat to keep it off me.

At one point I turned to talk to a teacher that had stopped by my class to discuss my high jump team, when I heard my name. I turned around only to be surrounded by my 6 girls with their hands full of paint. Here’s the results.

When I asked them what they were doing, the ring leader said ‘Well, you stayed really clean today, so we figured since we ran out of paper, we would turn YOU into art!’. I mean, how can you get mad at that? Although I did make them clean up their mess, and told them next time to be more careful at how much paint they used, as it actually went through my lab coat onto my fav volcom shirt (which always somehow gets paint or glue on it). Anyway, art is ment to be shared… Enjoy!!!
