A touch, A sight, A smell.. However small can often times trigger an explosive memory..

After dance class last night I went out to this bar with a couple of the students.. I don't drink so basically I was there as a DD if one was going to be needed.. Plus I was craving a bit of fun..

There was some dancing.. Lots of gossip.. Lots of laughter.. Fast forward a bit...

I was at the bar waiting for a couple of drinks to bring back as the girls hunted up a table.. I was doing my usual feel the music vibe as I scanned around the crowd.. This guy catches my attention farther down the bar..  As my eyes hit his he holds my look and gives me a smile.. I was about to smile back (as that's my sunny nature) when he pulls on his lip with his teeth and licks it as his eyes drift to my mouth.. Then he looks down at his beer knowing he's been caught staring and day dreaming..

Instantly my mind conjured up the one guy I loved with all my heart.. One of the few guys that knew how I liked to be kissed.. Hard and rough with a bit of bite.. HOLY WOW!  The memory was so vivid I could almost feel his bite..

Life is 10% what happens to us and 90% how we respond to it..

So I basked a minute in my memories.. Then I walked over to my friends who'd made it to a table..

I'm not on the market..

Road trips

With the lack of snow on the Island this last month we were getting a little too antsy to sit around so we headed out on holiday road. First we went out to Banff and hit up Sunshine Village. It was my first time out to the rockies and it was awesome! The weather was perfect; sunny and cold and we got lots of killer pics and footage for our new movie project. We'll definitely be going back again. Thanks a lot to Doug Firby for the great hospitality. www.skibanff.com

Patrick Kitto enjoying the cold smoke out in Banff. Mmm Mmm good

When we got home there was still not very much snow so we packed up some clean undies and headed out again, this time to Whistler. Whistler is always wicked and this trip was no exception. We shredded the opening day of Blackcomb and then Whistler the next day and it rocked ( my board and my mind ) haha. Early season conditions joke... Thanks to Ryan Proctor for hooking us up. www.whistlerblackcomb.com

Myles col' kickin' it with his favourite run on Blackcomb behind him: the Sudan Couloir

When we got home from Whistler, guess what? Still not that much snow. So we packed up some more clean undies and headed out again, this time to Golden. Now if you've been to Kicking Horse you know it's rad. Steep, deep and gnarly. We had a wicked time there until the third day when the temperatures were a cool -28 in the hills and our nostrils were sticking together when we went outdoors. We all looked like Michael Jackson with our noses frozen closed so we bundled our Vancouver Island butts back into the truck, cranked the heat and headed back west. Thanks to Jordan Petrovics for the hook up.

Matty, Joe and our main man Eric. "Close the damn door, it's cold!" Thanks to Eric for setting us up so good. You rule Rolston!

Matt Trigg riding some deep, cold stuff with Ole in the background filming. Trigger kind of looks like Darth Vader coming out of there.

Back Home
Now don't get me wrong, we've had a few good days of hiking around here. We've been noboarding up the hill quite a bit and even hitting some urban stuff in town with the cold temperatures.

No bindings? No problem... Ole loves noboarding. photo by Patrick Kitto

Shred news, latest stories, scandalous photos, gossip and up-to-the minute rumours
Well well well, where to start?

Yes, the JumpCamp season is officially over. We had an amazing year with five wicked camp sessions and even had a bonus session at the end of April because of all the snow. Campers came from far and wide to progress their shred skills and strengthen their freeriding skills and man, did they. Everyone loved the new obstacles in the park and took full advantage of them. We even got snowed on during the bonus camp. Fresh powder in April?! I mean c'mon, fuggedaboudid! Keep an eye on the photos section of the site for the rest of this year's pics and footage. Thanks to everyone that shot photos during the camps.

It's BBQ time!
Camper Lex hits the polejam with style.

See, snowing... Told ya.

Coachman Ole Larsen showin' some campers wassup.

Coach Update ( like anyone cares )
This time of year all the bros go their seperate ways working and taking care of business to pay for trucks, sleds and sandwiches for next year.
Myles is off in the interior of BC treeplanting. Haha poor kid...
Doug is in Cali making $ at skatecamp. He might even move out of his Dad's house this year.
Ole is "working" on Denman. He's planning on converting his mini dumptruck into a snowcat for next year.
Patrick just got some metal taken out of his ankle so he's layed up for a few weeks reading gardening and landscaping books.
Matt, Joe and Morgan have been tubing down the river in wetsuits.

Last Shred On Forbidden
The season's have finally changed and it's been real hot lately on the Island. Everyone's in summer mode getting their bikes, hawaiian t-shirts and skates out. The snow on the mountain has been melting fast so we thought we better take advantage of it and ripped up Forbidden for one last shred.

As you can see, not too much snow at the bottom of the hill.

Coach Joe Conley enjoying the Forbidden Plateau driving range. Joey is extremely excited about integrating more golf  into JumpCamp  for next year .

Coach JoeCon goin' for a dip in the pond with the mutts.

Coach Matt Trigg working on his tan. The Triggerman looks real good with a bronze glow.

JumpCamp is expanding! We're getting into the mountain bike game with skills camps and tours coming out this summer. Keep posted at JumpCamp.com for more info.

JumpCamp movie coming out next year! Yes, my friends we're finally editing all of our footage and putting out a shred flick so keep posted for premiers, parties, etc in the fall...  It will most definitely shock and inspire all viewers.

My Journal: Season Wrap
By: leer13

WOW!!!

What a season we had here on Vancouver Island.  Let me list some of the more memorable times:

1.  We went up all season from opening to closing day.  We had spring conditions on the LAST DAY of the season and not before!!  The snow was amazing this winter, with legit winter conditions until April 6.  For the West Coast this is almost unheardof!

2.  During our annual winter break, my 71 yr old, blind mum spent four days skiing.  On the Thursday she hit a little patch, did a slo-mo pirohette and BROKE HER FEMUR!  However, she is already talking about skiing next yr when we go!

3.  Snowboarding in the trees is a blast.  This was the first season I really experienced it and glade boarding opens up whole new aspects of the mtn!  Especially in cloudy conditions.

4.  I really do need a new board.  Although I talked about a Never Summer Premier T5 circumstances prevented me from puling the trigger on it.  DAMN!  Ah well - next year.

5.  Ramen is the BEST lunch at Mt Washington.  This yr we got to know the restaurant staff, which made the food even better.

6.  Gloves are good, but mitts are even better!

7.  Watching my wife rip down the mtn is almost as much fun as riding. Damn, the girl can ski!

8.  Steep and deep really rocks!

9.  Homemade protein bars rock too.

That's it - see y'all on the slopes next season!

Your train of thought is lost

and your vision is blurred

your heart is torn

and your life is burrned

Torn into pieces

forgotten by all

you lose your grip

and suddently fall

you scream out for help

you reach out in fear

but theres no one around

and no one to hear

Your all by yourself

and you feel so alone

your in your own world

but it feals so unknown

your to far gone

theres no turning back

the will to survive

your beginning to lack

Cuts and bruises

scrapes and scars

cover your life

like the night sky stars

As the fall ends

and you hit the ground

you open your hand

and look what you found

The small razor blade

is beginning to rust

the need to be gone

 is becomming a must

And with one last cut

you try to end your life

but the blade is too dull

so you cry in he night

It seemed that the blade

was your only friend

and then you realize

it betrayed you in the end

As you search for a way

to finally disappear

a gun you see

will bring death near

And as you touch the metal

to your head

and with the pull of the trigger

you fall and your dead

You decend into hell

and take a look around

and notice that this is no escape

burried beneath the ground

You look into the eyes

of all the cold souls

no friendly bodies

no hands to hold

It's all our fault

that you chose this path

and the devil's the one

who got the last laugh

Mommy.. Johnny brought a gun to school,

He told his friends that it was cool,

And when he pulled the trigger back,

It shot with a great crack.

Mommy, I was a good girl, I did What I was told,

I went to school, I got straight A's, I even got the gold!

But Mommy, when I went to school that day,

  I never said good-bye,

I'm sorry Mommy, I had to go, But Mommy, please don't cry.

When Johnny shot the gun, He hit me and another,

And all because Johnny, Got the gun from his older brother.

Mommy, please tell Daddy; That I love him very much,

And please tell Zack; my boyfriend; That it wasn't just a
crush.

And tell my little sister; That she is the only one now,

And tell my dear sweet grandmother; I'll be waiting for her
now,

  And tell my wonderful friends; That they always were the best;

Mommy, I'm not the first, I'm no better than the rest.

Mommy, tell my teachers; I won't show up for class,

And never to forget this, And please don't let this pass.

Mommy, why'd it have to be me? No one deserves this,

Mommy, warn the others, Mommy I left without a kiss.

And Mommy tell the doctors; I know they really did try,

I think I even saw a doctor, Trying not to cry.

Mommy, I'm slowly dying, With a bullet in my chest,

But Mommy please remember, I'm in heaven with the rest.

Mommy I ran as fast as I could,

When I heard that crack, Mommy, listen to me if you would,

I wanted to go to college, I wanted to try things that were
new,

I guess I'm not going with Daddy, On that trip to the new zoo.

I wanted to get married, I wanted to have a kid,

I wanted to be an actress, Mommy, I wanted to live.

But Mommy I must go now, The time is getting late,

Mommy, tell my Zack, I'm sorry but I had to cancel the date.

I love you Mommy, I always have, I know; you know it's true,

And Mommy all I wanted to say is, "Mommy, I love you."

I know no one knows but on April third I went in to the hospital with a brush with death.  I had been in my moldy home for to long and I began to sufficate.  When I went into the hospital the had to sidate me to put a tube down my throut.  From what Travis tells me (cuz i was out like a light) I fought five doctors and him to the point that they had to strap me down and give me a drug that paralizes your body.  After that the mucuse in my lungs had gotten so bad that I could no longer breath on my own.  I was put on life support for 24hrs.  I woke up the next day after they took me off the ventalator.  Then they gave me a commen ashmea med.  albuteral and it triggered a dorment heart condition.  I had four attacks in the hospital were my heart beat had reatched 275 beats per min.  They said I was doing better so they sent me home.  I was in a hotel room for maybe six hours when I was eating chocolate and I had the worst attack of them all.  Travis couldn't even count the beats.  When the ambulence reached the hospital and they hooked me up I had the highest anyone around had seen.  I had reached 310 beats per min.  and I was risking my heart stopping.  They gave me  three doses of meds.  that had slowed my heart before in the hospital.  Nothing was working and even the ER doc.  looked concerned.  They only had one other option.  The sidated me again and had to hook electrical panels to my chest and shock me.  It only took once but it slowed my heart down.  Travis said even though I was out of it when the shock came I stud strait up whith eyes wide open.  After a day of recovery and one last attack on my heart they told me that I had to have heart surgery.  That every attack was hurting my baby and in turn I would kill my child in time.  So they sent me to Grand Junction and I had to be awake through my surgery.  They suck these tubes through my main arteries in my leg and one in my arm.  Then they ran these rodes up the tubes.  It felt like worms crawling through me.  They triggered a heart attack and realized my problem.  When my mother carried my brother she had done speed and then with me acid.  It made it were I was born with a defect in my heart.  I was born with two pace makers and the athsmea meds. had triggered a endless circute through my heart.  They then froze out the extra pace maker and the surgery took 1hr. 1/2.  Now I am much better but I almost lost my life twice.  I was so scared that at 19 carring my child I would lose my life.  I am still not out of the frying pan yet because they are not sure if that was the whole problem.  So pray for me and my baby(which I found out is a boy) and keep us in your thoughts.

i'm so confuzed...i don't what to do anymore...should i give up on the only dream that's kept me alive and sane (for the most part)for the past few years?.... i recieved my g'pa's phone number via my brother jason, but i can't help but to call and hope that my father picks up the phone. i've wished so hard and long that i could be the one responsible for my father's decease. the shi*t he put us kids thorugh was terrible...i wouldn't wish it upon my worst enemy.... should i call? should i find him and eleminate him? should i go back to therapy? should i commit myself again? i really don't expect anyone to answer this, but if you do...make it worth my time, don't bullshi*t your way through life, embrace the moment and pull the trigger again and again and again. pull it till the clip is empty, reload, and empty again. hope how you die is the most intolerable thing that is humaly possible to put the human body through while it's still alive and breathing. hope to god that it still lives with the pain and suffering that it put us, cloesest to it, through. i hope he answers the phone so i can achive my everlasting fantasy of murdering my father. f*ck you dick, i hate you and just know that i'm comming for you, to make ends meet...tell me, how do you sleep at night? knowing that everyone that you've ever come in contact with, hates your guts...but most of all, your fleash and blood, remember i look just like you.  ROT IS PIECES a**hole! i know i won't do it and every one else should know this as well. you'll not know peace till you've had suffering!

My Journal: ramblings....
By: kendrat

I started to write this so many times, but stopped because I couldn’t find the right words. Not that there are any “right” words, but I like to think before I write. Lord knows the thinking has issues with happening before speaking, so the least I can do is use my brain to write.

My grandmother died a week ago today. Hers was the first death I’ve experienced in the family, and while there has to be a first for everything, I’d hoped this one could’ve held off indefinitely. Of course, I wasn’t THAT naïve, but a girl can hope. Unfortunately, when death calls, he doesn’t take a rain check (well, unless you’re Peter on Family Guy… then you get into all sorts of shenanigans with death). My Gramma died less than two weeks before her 89th birthday, and four short days shy of Christmas.
She loved Christmas. For as long as I can remember, my Gramma would come to our house on Christmas Eve for supper, and then spend the night. She would always sleep in the small bedroom, which meant that whichever of us kids claimed that bedroom at the time was displaced (Eryn had it until she was seven; I gave the big room to her for her seventh birthday, and lived in the small room from then on. Perhaps that’s why I never grew?). As a result, my sister and I had a sleepover on Christmas Eve every year. Putting two excited children in bed together to wait for Santa probably wasn’t the most conducive to a good night’s rest, but it sure was fun. Even if I did have to put up with Eryn’s smelly feet in my face all night. Christmas day we’d wake up (early of course), and Gramma would already be up waiting for us so we could all open our stockings together (she crocheted Christmas stockings for us all with our names across the top. This year while laying them out I put hers out as well out of habit, only to have to fold it up and put it away again).
Then she was diagnosed with Alzheimers disease and moved into a nursing home. The sleepovers stopped, Gramma would just come for Christmas Eve dinner and we’d open gifts with her that evening. As the disease progressed, she became more and more confused. Taking her out of the home, even for a brief Christmas dinner, became out of the question. The first year she was unable to come to dinner, it felt like there was something huge missing from the holidays, even though we still went to see her and had a small celebration in the nursing home with her. This year, the early Christmas party was to be on Saturday. It never happened.

I want to share some memories of her, because so many people never got to see her as I did. Alzheimers causes people’s entire personalities to change, and as the disease eats away more and more of their brains, the confusion and the forgetfulness make it difficult for them to remember how or what they were. In the early stages, the patient often experiences a complete 180, and is paranoid and angry where they were once happy and cheerful. As my Gramma moved down that path, she accused family friends left right and centre of trying to mug her, simply because they were trying to help her cross the street and she couldn’t remember who they were. In the nursing home, she would often complain of hating it there and wanting to go “home”, triggered by seeing a familiar family face and knowing it didn’t belong in her surroundings, therefore she must not belong either. A friend of mine who worked with my Gramma would tell her that “Kendra says you can have a sleepover here with me tonight!” whenever this came up, and surprisingly, it worked. My Gramma would return to her normal happy self and enjoy the rest of her day.

When I first learned how to use a telephone, my Gramma was the first person I called. She was always there for us, to lend a hand, give a few words of encouragement, remind us to share, or break up a fight. In kindergarten, she would come pick me up from school, and we would go out for fudgsickles at the local corner store. We’d take our treats back to her house and have fun until my dad came to pick me up. I remember one day coming out of class, I fell down and startled myself. Before I could start to cry, the principal picked me up and put me on his shoulders. I have a vivid recollection of looking down at my Gramma from my perch, and her laughing up at me asking how the weather was up there. She had a great sense of humour, always teasing and making light of things. I’m happy that sense of humour stuck with her throughout her life; even in her final days she was still teasing the nursing staff. For the last few years, she’d been teasing me about boys, telling me not to rush into anything and to take my men for a test run before I married any of them. In return, I asked her if any of the men on her floor had caught her eye, to which she replied with a laugh “What would they want with an old woman like me?! Besides, they’re all too old for me!”.

My Gramma was the one to introduce me to makeup. When she thought the time was right, she took me down to the local Shoppers Drug Mart, loaded up the basket of her walker with all manner of cosmetics, and sent them home with me and my sister. She was always very generous; if she knew there was something we liked, next time we went to visit her she’d have a whole stockpile of it. When her vision got too bad for her to continue driving, she gave her car to my cousin who had just got his license. During high school, my Gramma would let me spend the night with her if I wanted to go out with my friends, or even if I just plain didn’t want to go home. I would cook dinner and dessert for her and she’d let me pick what show I wanted to watch on TV. We’d talk about school and music, and I’d do my homework while she watched Jeopardy and crocheted.

I learned to crochet from my dad, who learned from Gramma. She was a master of the craft; she could make anything from basic potholders to intricate lace. My uncle swears he once saw her crocheting in her sleep, and I quite believe him. She was truly an artist. Her hands were always soft and smooth, and every time I went to visit her in the nursing home, she’d hold my hands in one or both of hers. I remember how her wedding ring looked way too big for her finger, but she never once took it off, even though her husband predeceased her by 44 years. For half her life, she remained true to his memory. There’s a lot to be said for loyalty like that. Family was everything to her.

After she gave away her car, my Gramma walked everywhere. She occasionally took the bus or a cab if the weather was terrible, but she thought nothing of walking two hours to the mall to go shopping, or an hour to the grocery store to stock up on our favourite goodies. One day after a trip to the mall, she invited me over for dinner. I showed up and she immediately got a conspiratorial look on her face. She showed me her new purchases, which included not only a new bra, but some realistic looking implants for said bra! She said she was tired of having two shapeless flaps of skin and wanted to feel like a woman again.

These are just a few memories I want to share. There are so many more, but it would take years to write them all. My Gramma was always so proud of me for going to university, working for the government, playing silly songs on the piano… everything. The funeral service was yesterday, and it was nice to see the small crowd that came. The service was traditionally Catholic, and the priest was an old family friend who came out of retirement specially for my Gramma. I hope she knew how many people she touched, and how much she will be missed.

For those of you who stayed with my ramblings this long, thank you.

My Blog: mommy
By: lilbabyboo42018

Mommy... Johnny brought a gun to school,
He told his friends that it was cool,
And when he pulled the trigger back,
It shot with a great crack.
Mommy, I was a good girl, I did what I was told,
I went to school, I got straight A's, I even got the gold!
But Mommy, when I went school that day,
I never said good-bye,
I'm sorry Mommy, I had to go, But Mommy, please don't cry. When Johnny shot
the gun, He hit me and another,
And all because Johnny, Got the gun from his older brother.
Mommy, please tell Daddy; That I love him very much,
And please tell Chris; my boyfriend; That it wasn't just a crush.
And tell my little sister; That she is the only one now,
And tell my dear sweet grandmother; I'll be waiting for her now, And
tell my wonderful friends; That they always were the best; Mommy, I'm not
the first, I'm no better than the rest.
Mommy I ran as
fast as I could,
When I heard that crack, Mommy, listen to me if you would,
I wanted to go to college; I wanted to try things that were new,
I guess I'm not going with Daddy, On that trip to the new zoo.
I wanted to get married, I wanted to have a kid,
I wanted to be an actress, Mommy, I wanted to live.
But Mommy I must go now, The time is getting late,
Mommy, tell my Chris, I'm sorry but I had to cancel the date.
I love you Mommy, I always have, I know; you know it's true, And Mommy all
I wanted to say is,"Mommy, I love you."
