Peanut Butter and Rail Jam 2009

Peanut Butter and Rail Jam 2009

Seria imprez jibbingowych spod znaku Volcoma ponownie atakuje Europę.

Sitting in stockholm, knowing it's snowing at home... Feels wrong to be at the wrong spot at the wrong moment, but at the same time, the right spot, strange eh!

Well its finally in place, I have told my boss whats happening and the discussions are taking place. What am I on about you ask? I'm moving from the UK to go and live/work in Stockholm, Sweden.
Unfortunately the catalyst for this move wasn't what I wanted and has turned out to be harder than I ever imagined it would be.
A new country and a new start? Well thats something I'll have to find out when I get there.

10,000 fans saw Matevz Petek (SLO) win the first big air in the NOKIA Snowboard FIS World Cup 2006/2007, held at the Olympic stadium in Stockholm (SWE). Petek triumphed in the big final against Peetu Piiroinen (FIN). This was the first Snowboarding event staged in the Swedish capital following the highly successful FIS Cross-Country World Cup sprint races staged there earlier. Aged 18, the Finnish freestyler was the youngest snowboarder in the finals of the best 16 qualifiers that applied the  new rules using the knock-out-format for the first time. In the semi-finals, Piiroinen relegated his team mate Risto Mattila to the small final (3rd and 4th), while Petek won against Florian Mausser of Austria. In the small final, Mattila successfully competed against Mausser taking the last place on the podium. For complete results, click here.

Colonies.com Network Wide News: Red Bull Crashed Ice Conquers Old Quebec
By: Colonies.com

Capacity crowd of 30,000 swarm fortified wall of Old Quebec to witness Canada’s first-ever Red Bull Crashed Ice

Gabriel Andre defeats six-time undefeated champion Jasper Felder of Sweden and over 90 Canadian and international racers to claim championship title

QUEBEC , Mar. 4, 2006 – In a wild and unforgettable race to the finish, Canada’s first-ever Red Bull Crashed Ice was unleashed to a maximum capacity crowd of 30,000-plus spectators in Old Quebec. When the ice spray settled, Gabriel Andre from Prince Albert, Sask., toppled over 90 other racers to become the first Canadian to hold the coveted title of Red Bull Crashed Ice champion.
Among the finalists was Jasper Felder of Sweden, the six-time and previously only champion in Red Bull Crashed Ice history. Felder utilized his speed and size to reach the final four, but couldn’t overcome Andre’s home ice advantage:

“It’s amazing to win the first Red Bull Crashed Ice in Canada,” said Andre.  “This sport was made for Canadians, and it’s nice to remind Sweden who the kings of the ice are. I can’t wait to defend my title.”

Featuring a 400m ice-track with a 34m vertical drop, the new-school sport of Red Bull Crashed Ice met head-on with the old world charm of Old Quebec, transforming its skyline by winding its way through and around the city’s famous fortified wall. Starting at Les Portes St-Louis and culminating at Place d’Youville, the course featured a series of berms, turns, whoops, jumps and steep chutes. At the heart of the action were four hockey-equipped skaters charging down the S-shaped course head-to-head in a race to the bottom, reaching speeds of up to 50 km/hr.

“I’m disappointed not to win, but Gabriel skated some great races and earned the title,” said Felder. “I’ll be back, so don’t count me out in the future.”

To determine a champion, consecutive heats of four skaters in a double elimination bracket narrowed the field down during the main event from 64 racers to a final four. Andre took home the first prize of $5,000, with second-place Wade Hocking of Kelowna, B.C., winning $3,000, third-place Sylvain Houle of Rockland, Ont., $1,500, and fourth place Felder $500.

Red Bull Crashed Ice also introduced the first-ever application of Frozen Motion camera technology in a live forum. Twenty digital cameras freeze the action and rotate 170 degrees around, providing groundbreaking views from behind, around, and over the athlete’s shoulder.  The footage will be featured in a post-production video of Red Bull Crashed Ice, with details on a national broadcast to be announced soon.

About Red Bull Crashed Ice

Since Quebec produces some of the world’s best and most fearless hockey players, its capital city was a fitting location for the seventh Red Bull Crashed Ice. Thousands of people from around the world have witnessed the breathtaking and action-packed new sport of ice-cross downhill in cities with rich hockey roots, including its debut in Stockholm, Sweden (2000), Klagenfurt, Austria (2001), Duluth, Minnesota, USA (2003, 2004), Moscow, Russia (2004), and Prague, Czech Republic (2005).

...Back to the harsh reality! I've been living a powder dream for a week now and it has tragically come to an end with school starting again and all that. But I'm not gonna walk around like it's the end of the world! I'll just have to drag my lazy ass down to the tiny hill they call Flottsbro and ride every weekend and I'll be just fine! You'll find me by the rails working my ass off trying to pull some dope slides on those metal bars, or perhaps in the lodge eating a too-expensive sandwich...

Anyhow, I just wanted to say that I'm back in action in Stockholm again and as usual if anyone want something just write a line.

Take care now, buh-bye!

If you don't live in the Stockholm area but still want us to play in your town, pay the flight/train/bus tickets and a place to crash and we'll be there! ;-)

Stockholm turns me into a whiner. So today I'm not gonna whine. Weather here is great, just spring and sunny. There is love in the air, people taking long walks and holding hands. I'm not one of those, but that doesn't really matter. School is not bad at all, this week we had photo and it been quite creative and I've been having fun. I've bought my Mammoth pass, and I'm gonna work up money so I can buy a midweek pass in Whistler! And I wanna say that I miss Tory in Whistler, and all my friends, I hope I'll be back soon!

Just chilling in Stockholm, still totally jetlegged, I sleep about 12 hours everynight, or even 15, and I'm to lazy to go to the gym. But tomorrow it's Monday, so I think I'll get into it tomorrow.

My knee is a little f*cked, so I'm spending some time in Stockholm with my family. I'm missing out on a lot of high quality poledancing in Mammoth and some beer challange in Tahoe... not to talk about all that fun slushy snow that just hang around this time a year.

What the f*ck! I was gettin up super early this morning, coz I should have had classes at 7.30 am, but our tutor did not show up. I'm super pissed, coz I did not go out last night, just to prevent a hangover and stuff. Grrrrr. Anywayz 8 friends of mine come over tonite, coz I'm gonna cook Red Curry Chicken for them. I really look forward to that. Maybe we go out afterwards. Would be kewl. But who knows, maybe we have to make an emergency call, coz of the food or... Gosh, I really should clean my room. Last nite I met up with Annika, which was funny as always. She's still studying in Stockholm/Sweden and she just called me in the afternoon to make a date. She has been only for that day in Rostock. Haha, she told me that there were bets going on, whether I would survive my US/CAN trip. Yeah, we laughed a lot and ate tonz of icecream. When I showed her the pics that I've made at this trip, she was like "Aooh, the ppl look really nice." When she saw a pic of Adam she was like "OMG, he's so super hot" and she was kissing that pic. She asked me if I could ask Adam for a naked pic of him. LOL. And she wanted his phone number as well. Haha. When I told her that I wanna go back to Canada next season, she immediately said, that she wanna accompany me (just to meet Adam, hehe)... HAVE A NICE DAY EVERYONE
