11 year old snowboarder, Kyle Mack is added to the Infamous team?

British Columbia - September 8, 2008 - Infamous Management is proud to announce the signing of young snowboard phenom, Kyle Mack to a multi-year contract.

Kyle has been a force on the Burton Smalls since his introduction to the team in 2005. As a part of the Smalls crew he has shot, filmed and competed with some of the sports' most influential riders, photographers and videographers. Recently Kyle was featured in two back to back issues of Snowboarder Magazine, a feat for snowboarders twice his age. With his career on the upswing Kyle's parents sought honest representation for their son, and found it in Infamous Management.

"I'm looking forward to being part of the Infamous crew! It's going to be great working with Roberta and getting to meet the other team riders. My sponsors believe that this is a great step in my career, and I just keep thinking that I'm only 11, what is a career? I'm just having a great time shredding. But seriously, I do believe that being part of this crew is going to be an awesome experience all around, both personally and professionally." -Kyle Mack

At just eleven years old Kyle has begun to make his mark in the snowboard industry because of his raw talent and good style. Infamous has taken note of Kyle's athletic ability and achievements, and wants to provide him with direction as he makes the first and most vital decisions in his snowboard career. Infamous will ensure that he becomes a well-rounded and highly marketable athlete, and that his snowboarding will continue to stand out among his peers.

"In an era where there are more followers than leaders Kyle stands out, not just with his talent and style, but also with his knowledge and passion for snowboarding. Kyle knows what a real pro snowboarder is and doesn't let the mainstream market dictate that to him. He respects the riders that are doing real tricks and pushing the sport. In the near future Kyle will be the one setting the standard, I have no doubt about that. He has talent, maturity, and passion,  plus the support of a loving family behind him.  With the added support of Infamous and our athletes he will succeed." -Roberta Rodger

Kyle's ultimate goal is to become one of the best snowboarders in the world, which is why he wants to develop experiences in heli-boarding, the backcountry and at rail events. Not to mention he would like to have continuing success in halfpipe and slopestyle competitions.

Basic info, where were you born, where you living,  age, and sponsors?

I was born in Leduc Alberta February 5th 1984.... that would make me 23. I ride for Billabong, Sapient, Smith and Level Gloves.

How has your season treated you this year?

My season was awesome. I rode a lot of pow. A couple minor injuries but that's ok. It’s a part of the game.

You have a sled yet?

Ya, I got a 99 Summit 670. I LOVE SLEDDING.

Do you plan on getting more into the backcountry next year?

Ya ... All I want to do is sled. Its so much better then snowboarding anywhere I've been.

Give me a percentage breakdown on your snowboarding: contest, traveling, urban missions, filming, backcountry, mellow shredding (park), whatever floats your boat, etc.....

35% Backcountry

25% Whatever Floats

15% Urban Missions

10% Contests

10% Park

5% Traveling

Plans for the summer?

Work, try to make money to buy a truck. Of course hit up camp a bit, hit a few street rails in Van, and skate and wakeskate whenever possible.

Rail missions in winter or summer? Why?

I like rail missions in the summer mostly because Vancouver never gets snow and if they have snow that usually means that the mountain is going to be so much sicker than some street rail.

What do you do to get the bills paid?

I drive taxi for Resort Cabs here in Whistler... if you ever need a cab Request Warren.

Who do you ride with?

Anyone that calls me in the morning.

What pisses you off?

Waiting for people, sleds that don't work, negative people, people that back out of missions, cops and Rent-a-cop’s.

What gets you pumped?

Good Friends, Good attitude, Good Conditions, Good music. Anything good.

Shout outs?

Shout out to Risto at Billabong, Chris at Smith and Level, Spencer at Sapeint, Todd and Brad at the Summit, Slizzy at Gnarcore, Tyler, Ryan Conway, Chase Conway, Mr Jack Crompton, all my friends, my Mom and Dad, Jess and Court and anyone else that has helped me out over the years. Thanks!

2,000 Gather for Nude Shoot in Amsterdam
Jun 3, 5:38 AM EST

This article link was posted as a news section on msn.com today.  It deplores the obvious, a large group of nude people gathered naked for a photo shoot, one which was organized by photographer Spencer Tunick.  That's all you really need to know before I begin this rant but should you wish to read the whole article (and the comments which I'm about to trash) here's the link:  http://entertainment.msn.com/news/article.aspx?news=264181&GT1=10056

After this article came an onslaught of comments, some commemorous and others just down right of obnoxious.

"It's disgusting! Most of these artsy, liberated-minded, males are homosexuals I suspect. I don't want to see a bunch of them and their warped minds."

Close minded much?

"And one more evidence that religion is strong here. Where the first machine press Bible was made (Mainz, Germany), just outside Frankfurt there is a big STATE SPONSORED museum in the Dom in Mainz."

What the hell does Germany have to do with the Netherlands?

"Why would people agree to pose nude in a public setting en masse? Do they get paid, or are they just exhibitionists? Who finances Tunick and are we suppose to see his photographs as art? Believe me, as a physician, I can tell you that most people look a lot better in their clothes. If Tunick's work is art, then I guess Playboy's center fold is art too. I don't get it."

Neither do I Chuck, neither do I.

Now I know I make myself just as much as a critic as these people by even thinking about what they've said, and this isn't even a hint of what some of the other comments were, and to be frank many of them were very supportive of Tunik's efforts.  What gets me going are the people who a) use religion to counterslash modern art and b) are so uncomfortable with the concept of nudity that they immediately have to flout their inferiority by insulting those who aren't.

The Bible's a beautiful piece of literature, no doubt about it, and for those who practice a devout, organized religion good for you, but in all honesty...this isn't at all your room to comment!  The Bible (and more so Christianity) preaches tolerance sans persecution.  These people aren't persecuting your faith so leave them alone!  Just because Guttenburg printed the first Bible in a city near 250 miles away doesn't mean that the entire region is dogged in a heavy religious collar.  For God's sake (yes, God's!) the entire movement of the Renaissance, humanism, secularism, was to take art away from what at one time had been a truly manipulative hand of the church.  Most the portraits after the crucifixion have Christ near nude anyways.  Why?  Not for some sick sinful nature, no, but because hmmm...perhaps he was at the time?  Adam and Eve were naked,  Christ ended up naked, that's nudity from the beginning to the end, get over it!

Secularism returned to the natural human body.  It was radical then but you'd think after four hundred and fifty years we'd get over the concept.  Yes, they're naked, and you know what?  Under your clothes so are you.  There's so much art to be gained abstracly and you can't deny that the human body is a beautiful thing.  Tunick took a different approach to expressing natural beauty, just as many have done before him.  He wasn't creating pornography, which, to be dubbed such has to be created for purposes of sexual stimulation.  This wasn't a Playboy center spread, it was a modernist expression.  I'm fairly certain Tunick didn't create this art (and the others like it) for some horny person to mastrubate with.  Just because he, and the people who willingly, sans pay and profit, decided to participate in his vision (and there are thousands more than these two hundred, all over the world at that) had no intention of stimulating anything other than the mind.  They weren't sick and twisted, the were open and intuitive.  You were born naked, you're going to be kept in a freezer naked, and for a large majority of us, you're going to wake up naked, so really, what's the true problem here?

ahem, hello. welcome to the new runway films snowboard dot com page. my name's spencer and i'll be your regular updater. anyways, the new production is up and running and the girls have been busy filming. the utah girls have been getting their jib on while the whistler crew has been riding steady pow. we're working on a hot teaser that should be available for your viewing pleasure around the second week of january (no promises though, so don't hold me to anything).

if anyone is out of the snowboard gossip loop, then you probably have no clue what runway is or that the beloved misschief films sadly decided to not make a new movie. huge props to amber and fabia for all their hard work over the past two years, they did so much for women's snowboarding and we can't thank them enough. so with no filming opportunities for the fairer sex in sight, leanne pelosi decided to take things into her own hands and bring together a tight knit crew of babes to make a brand new company.

so here we are...filming our butts off and playing in way too much pow. be stoked...we're making a sweet movie and you're all going to get the hot updates weekly (or maybe weekly..we'll see about that). keep it real kids, and keep checking in.

peace and love.

the runway crew.

Admitting

I want to admit
That have I loved you from the first sight
I want to admit
That I do think about you day and night

I want to admit
That I am ready to fight the whole world for your sake
I want to admit
That I will wait for you no matter how long that will take

Yes, I love you so very much
Yes, I think of you day and night
I do not care if that is wrong
And I do not want to make it right

Please do not talk about any difference
Please forget about the long distance
For your eyes I would sacrifice my soul
For your smile I would give my all

I would give up the love,
If my heart beats were not for you
And if you were not the one I live for,
I would give up my life too

I will always love you
I will always try
Cause" no goal is too distant
And no star is too high"

I just wrote this so its not that good.

Things To think about:

Why the sun lightens our hair,
but darkens our skin?

Why women can't put on mascara
with their mouth closed?

Why you don't ever see the headline:
"Psychic Wins Lottery"?

Why "abbreviated" is such a long word?

Why Doctors call what they do "practice"?

Why you have to click on "Start"
to stop Windows 98?

Why lemon juice is made with artificial flavor, while dishwashing liquid is made with real lemons?

Why the man who invests all your money is called a "Broker"?

Why there isn't mouse flavored cat food?

Who tastes dog food when it has a
"new & improved" flavor?

Why Noah didn't swat those two mosquitoes?

Why they sterilize the needle for lethal injections?

Why they don't make the whole plane out of the material used for the indestructible black box?

Why sheep don't shrink when it rains?

Why they are called apartments when
they are all stuck together?

If con is the opposite of pro,
is Congress the opposite of progress?

Why they call the airport "the terminal"
if flying is so safe?

AND...

In case you need further proof that the human race is doomed because of stupidity, here are some actual label instructions on consumer goods.

On a Myer hairdryer:
"Do not use while sleeping".
(Darn, and that's the only time I have to work on my hair).

On a bag of Chips:
You could be a winner! No purchase necessary. Details inside.
(The shoplifter special?)

On a bar of Palmolive soap:
"Directions: Use like regular soap".
(And that would be how???)

On some frozen dinners:
"Serving suggestion: Defrost".
(But, it's just a suggestion).

On Nanna's Tiramisu dessert
(printed on bottom):
"Do not turn upside down".
(Well...duh, a bit late, huh)!

On Marks & Spencer Bread Pudding:
"Product will be hot after heating".
(And you thought????...)

On packaging for a K-Mart iron:
"Do not iron clothes on body".
(But wouldn't this save me more time?)

On Boot's Children Cough Medicine:
"Do not drive a car or operate machinery after taking this medication".
(We could do a lot to reduce the rate of construction accidents if we could just get those 5 year olds with head colds off those forklifts.)

On Nytol Sleep Aid:
"Warning: May cause drowsiness".
(And...I'm taking this because???)

On most brands of Christmas lights:
"For indoor or outdoor use only".
(As opposed to...what?)

On a Japanese food processor:
"Not to be used for the other use".
(Now, somebody out there, help me on this. I'm a bit curious.)

On Nobby's peanuts:
"Warning: contains nuts".
(Talk about a news flash!)

On an American Airlines packet of nuts:
"Instructions: Open packet, eat nuts".
(Step 3: maybe, uh...fly Delta?)

I don't blame the company, I blame the parents for this one:

On a child's superman costume:
"Wearing of this garment does not enable you to fly".

On a Swedish chainsaw:
"Do not attempt to stop chain with your hands or genitals".
(Was there a lot of this happening somewhere?)

Another sunny day in California made for good surfing, and hanging on the beach.  Option pro rider and Sandbox founder Kevin Sansalone was kind enough to take me to a break called Dads, just south of Carlsbad. The waves were mellow and perfect for us to play around on. We worked up quite an appetite, so naturally we went to In & Out Burger.

When we arrived back in San Diego we met up with the rest of the crew that had just flown in.  This included Burton rider Mark Sollors, Option rider Paul Gonzales, and photographer Russell Dalby. By the time we showered up and had a beer it was time to head into the Transworld Rider Poll Awards.

The Rider Poll Awards is one hell of a party. Hosted in On Broadway, the party incorporates 3 different clubs, with different DJ’s in each area at any given time. At around 9pm, everyone sat down, and watched the best of the best in snowboarding receive their awards.

Womens rookie of the year, Elena Hight

Mens rookie of the year, Danny Davis

Stand out performance, David Benidect (double cork 1260)

Womens rider of the year, Hannah Beeman

Mens rider of the year, Shaun White

Womens readers poll rider of the year, Leanne Pelosi

Mens readers poll rider of the year, Shaun White

Immediately after the awards, Mack Dawg premiered one of their new movies People. It was very impressive to say the least. Stand out parts go to Etienne Gilbert, Shaun Mckay, Nima Jamali and Pat McCarthy. You can peep the teaser at www.mackdawgproductions.com/2006/people.html

The party went hard all night. And although it’s a bit of a blur, I think everyone had a crazy good night. A fairly serious dance party started up in one of the clubs downstairs. I’m pretty sure the whole Burton girls team was there.. Molly Agurie was just owning the dance floor.

Fun Fun, I’m out,

- jeff

Although an intimate dinner and drinks with my friends was all that I wanted for my birthday, waking up at 5:30am the next day wasn’t ideal.  I rolled into gate 86 at YVR around 7am. Turns out I wasn’t the only one taking an early flight to San Diego; our flight turns into a reunion for snowboard industry types.  On board was Dice K Maru, Transworld senior photographer, Jamieson, Redbull’s team and marketing manager, Risto Scott, Billibong team manager, as well as Teneya Nash and Matt Chamberlain from Nomis. Oh ya, lets not forget the filmer photographer types that weaseled there way into first class… Damon Pyett and Sean Hoglin.

California is sunny and warm, who would have expected otherwise. I tag along with Sean and Damon who’ve rented a car and we head up the coast towards LA.  We poked our heads out the window, scoping surfs spots along the way, and of course make a pit stop at Wahoo’s for some fish tacos.

Our destination is Irvine, which just happens to be home to Oakley headquarters, and the location of Misschief Film’s world premier. Last night was by far the most elaborate party I have ever experienced. Oakley was packed, close to 1000 people inside and probably that many people again outside. Open bar, amazing DJ’s and no shortage of beautiful women made for an eventful and exciting evening. I vaguely remember kevin sansalone sneaking beer into the party... which is kind of interesting considering drinks were free.

When Ro Sham Bo hit the screen everyone went crazy. Fabia Grueebler and Amber Stackhouse produced an exciting all girls snowboard film.  The soundtrack was amazing, as well at the editing of Per-Hampus. Anne Flore Marxer and Natasha Zurek had stand out parts, along with new comers Spencer O'Brien and Marie France Roy. Overall the film was a huge step in the right direction for womens snowboarding, and I highly recommend all you ladies picking up a copy when it hits stores in the next couple of weeks. Check projectmisschief.com to peep the teaser.

Anyways, I need to nurse this hangover, and maybe go ride a few waves, I’ll talk you ya’ll tomorrow.

- jeff

The Meaning of Love.....

To love is to share life together
to build special plans just for two
to work side by side
and then smile with pride
as one by one, dreams all come true.

To love is to help and encourage
with smiles and sincere words of praise
to take time to share
to listen and care
in tender, affectionate ways.

To love is to have someone special
one who you can always depend
to be there through the years
sharing laughter and tears
as a partner, a lover, a friend.

To love is to make special memories
of moments you love to recall
of all the good things
that sharing life brings
love is the greatest of all.

I've learned the full meaning
of sharing and caring
and having my dreams all come true;
I've learned the full meaning
of being in love
by being and loving with you.

This week in Ellen Watson news:

-skye came back from the sea. stories were swapped. at times it felt very "ellen and skye this is your life"

-the tripod reunited with the exception of spencer who has now been replaced with "zac"

-went to victoria to find myself a house. let's just say im currently still homeless. if anyone would like to adopt me for a year im totally into that.

-on another note, if anyone is also interested in becoming my ex-boyfriend, apply within, or attatch it to the bottom of your adoption form.
