Went to SkiBrule on Saturday November 22. I was just happy to be riding. My new Agent ROCKS! Ski Brule on the other hand sucked. They didn't have as many runs open as advertised and conditions were not even close to even just being OK. I had some problems with skiers. I had one slam into me on purpose and another tell me to stay off of his run. lol Kinda hard to do when there is only 3 runs open on the front side of the hill. Just a bunch of ass hats. So if anybody wants to see their kids get beat down by 45 year old men in tight pants, send them to Brule. I think that was my last trip there ever, unless im in the mood for a fight. Family Hill my ass.

Premier w/ CO2s
Took it easier today since we were all a bit tired from previous two days.
Forecast said 5-11 inches.  AND it was coming down the whole time we were there.
Man, powder, trakced or untracked, is it for me.
Worked blues and one side of the mtn that we did not hit on Sunday.
Did catch tail edge at bottom of lift that slammed by head so hard my helmet and goggles flew off.
One of us quit earlier so me and the other went up one for time for a good run to end our trip.
Slow going back home b/c of the snow, but no complaints at all.
We'll be back someday.

Smaller than Big Sky, but blue tree runs with pow made it better.
Premier w/ CO2s
Had a few good slams, catching toe on traverse and hurting left shoulder a bit.  Also little bruise on chest from cell.
Lifts weren't as forgiving as Big Sky.  Slammed off one.  Right after me, two more boarders did the same.  Could have been inattentive lifties.  Who knows?
Got separated from buddies and tried to find them w/o luck.  Should have used the Motorolas.
Quit earlier than them since legs were tired.  Also slams may have taken a bit out of me.
All in all, a nice change of pace from Big Sky.

My Blog: yikes!
By: goofyk2boarder

someone hasn't been on here in a long time. i almost forgot it existed. i did forget it existed, actually.
so i was up at blue last weekend, hit the first box on top sidewinder and slammed my stomach onto the rail, knees onto the ground. twice. it was impressive. right after that i went up to camelback, bailed on a jump, and completely ate it, banging my knees again. so yesterday i go back to that rail, did it too slow... knees again. i feel like someone has taken my body and repeatedly slammed me into the ground... oh wait, that happened.
i'll have pics of of the knees sooner or later. it's an impressive array of colours.

So i finally made it to munich this year =P though drive up there was real tough and tr00 torture…well not all true, but if you go from a party strait to the bus and drive for 6 hours it’s not really pleasant but everything for fame and glory >.< edit: fun anyways ^^

it was around 10 am when we arrived to munich so we went for a mornin’ coffee/tea at fellows (still can’t get over their cinnamon apple tea <3) and then for some shopping and just couldn’t get enough of  those Christmas decorations on the streets. It was kinda magical. But that wasn’t why we were there…nokia air&style!

When we got there I was siked by the size of the jump, it was enormous!! the view on the arena and all the ppl who were already there was also spectacular. After visiting all the tents and participating in every possible award game we drag our self down to the arena (run would be a better term). Just the feeling that you’re there with thousands of ppl who are living and breathing for the same thing it’s simply…amazing. The pressure was rising from the beginning to the end of the event when Kevin Pearce slammed that cab 1260. I was rooting for young Mikkel who came 2nd, not bad at all. No need for me to say that the whole event was a huge success. With The Hives warming up the crowd just before the finals and Sean Paul ending it in the reggae style.

Will sure come back next year ;)

I was riding shotgun with my hair undone in the front seat of his car
he's got a one-hand feel on the steering wheel
the other on my heart
i look around, turn the radio down
he says baby is something wrong?
i say nothing i was just thinking how we don't have a song
and he says...

CHORUS
our song is the slamming screen door,
sneakin' out late, tapping on your window
when you're on the phone and you talk real slow
cause it's late and your mama don't know
our song is the way you laugh
the first date "man, i didn't kiss her, but i should have"
and when i got home...before i said amen
asking god if he could play it again

"Bring Me To Life"
how can you see into my eyes like open doors
leading you down into my core
where I’ve become so numb without a soul my spirit sleeping somewhere cold
until you find it there and lead it back home

(Wake me up)
Wake me up inside
(I can’t wake up)
Wake me up inside
(Save me)
call my name and save me from the dark
(Wake me up)
bid my blood to run
(I can’t wake up)
before I come undone
(Save me)
save me from the nothing I’ve become

now that I know what I’m without
you can't just leave me
breathe into me and make me real
bring me to life

(Wake me up)
Wake me up inside
(I can’t wake up)
Wake me up inside
(Save me)
call my name and save me from the dark
(Wake me up)
bid my blood to run
(I can’t wake up)
before I come undone
(Save me)
save me from the nothing I’ve become

Bring me to life
(I've been living a lie, there's nothing inside)
Bring me to life

frozen inside without your touch without your love darling only you are the life among the dead

all this time I can't believe I couldn't see
kept in the dark but you were there in front of me
I’ve been sleeping a thousand years it seems
got to open my eyes to everything
without a thought without a voice without a soul
don't let me die here
there must be something more
bring me to life

(Wake me up)
Wake me up inside
(I can’t wake up)
Wake me up inside
(Save me)
call my name and save me from the dark
(Wake me up)
bid my blood to run
(I can’t wake up)
before I come undone
(Save me)
save me from the nothing I’ve become

(Bring me to life)
I’ve been living a lie, there’s nothing inside
(Bring me to life)

"Far Away"
This time, This place
Misused, Mistakes
Too long too late
Who was I to make you wait
Just one chance
Just one breath
Just in case there's just one left
'Cause you know, you know, you know

I love you
I've loved you all along
I miss you
Been far away for far too long
I keep dreaming you'll be with me
And you'll never go
Stop breathing if
I don't see you anymore

On my knees, I'll ask
Last chance for one last dance
'Cause with you, I'd withstand
All of Hell to hold your hand
I'd give it all
I'd give for us
Give anything, but I won't give up
'Cause you know, you know, you know

That I love you
I loved you all along
And I miss you
Been far away for far too long
I keep dreaming you'll be with me
And you'd never go
Stop breathing if
I don't see you anymore

So far away
So far away
Far away for far too long
So far away
So far away
Far away for far too long

But you know, you know, you know
I wanted
I wanted you to stay
'Cause I needed
I need to hear you say
I love you
I loved you all along
And I forgive you
For being away for far too long
So keep breathing
'Cause I'm not leaving you anymore
Believe it
Hold on to me,and never let me go
Keep breathing
'Cause I'm not leaving you anymore
Believe it
Hold on to me never let me go

Keep breathing
Hold on to me, never let me go
Keep breathing
Hold on to me, never let me go

"Never Too Late"

This world will never be
What I expected
And if I don't belong
Who would have guessed it
I will not leave alone
Everything that I own
To make you feel like it's not too late
It's never too late

Even if I say
It'll be alright
Still I hear you say
You want to end your life
Now and again we try
To just stay alive
Maybe we'll turn it all around
'Cause it's not too late
It's never too late

No one will ever see
This side reflected
And if there's something wrong
Who would have guessed it
And I have left alone
Everything that I own
To make you feel like
It's not too late
It's never too late

Even if I say
It'll be alright
Still I hear you say
You want to end your life
Now and again we try
To just stay alive
Maybe we'll turn it all around
'Cause it's not too late
It's never too late

The world we knew
Won't come back
The time we've lost
Can't get back
The life we had
Won't be ours again

This world will never be
What I expected
And if I don't belong

Even if I say
It'll be alright
Still I hear you say
You want to end your life
Now and again we try
To just stay alive
Maybe we'll turn it all around
'Cause it's not too late
It's never too late
Maybe we'll turn it all around
'Cause it's not too late
It's never too late (It's never too late)
It's not too late
It's never too late

"Over You"
Now that it's all said and done,
I can't believe you were the one
To build me up and tear me down,
Like an old abandoned house.
What you said when you left
Just left me cold and out of breath.
I fell too far, was in way too deep.
Guess I let you get the best of me.

Well, I never saw it coming.
I should've started running
A long, long time ago.
And I never thought I'd doubt you,
I'm better off without you
More than you, more than you know.
I'm slowly getting closure.
I guess it's really over.
I'm finally getting better.
And now I'm picking up the pieces.
I'm spending all of these years
Putting my heart back together.
'Cause the day I thought I'd never get through,
I got over you.

You took a hammer to these walls,
Dragged the memories down the hall,
Packed your bags and walked away.
There was nothing I could say.
And when you slammed the front door shut,
A lot of others opened up,
So did my eyes so I could see
That you never were the best for me.

Well, I never saw it coming.
I should've started running
A long, long time ago.
And I never thought I'd doubt you,
I'm better off without you
More than you, more than you know.
I'm slowly getting closure.
I guess it's really over.
I'm finally getting better.
And now I'm picking up the pieces.
I'm spending all of these years
Putting my heart back together.
'Cause the day I thought I'd never get through,
I got over you.

Well, I never saw it coming.
I should've started running
A long, long time ago.
And I never thought I'd doubt you,
I'm better off without you
More than you, more than you know.

Well, I never saw it coming.
I should've started running
A long, long time ago.
And I never thought I'd doubt you,
I'm better off without you
More than you, more than you know.
I'm slowly getting closure.
I guess it's really over.
I'm finally getting better.
And now I'm picking up the pieces.
I'm spending all of these years
Putting my heart back together.
Well I'm putting my heart back together,
'Cause I got over you.
Well I got over you.
I got over you.
'Cause the day I thought I'd never get through,
I got over you.

>>>>NEWS UPDATE: OCTOBER 9th/07<<<<
Goodevening everyone!!
Myself, along with the team's software editors and music heads put together a slammin' sound track that will be used on Funhouse Films' new 08 DVD, Mountains of Monkeys. We're currently picking through a list of 35 songs and we will narrow them down throughout the season.

We're all REALLY pumped for the 08, it's just around the bend, the leaves are falling, the wind is chill..... so we say... BRING IT ON f*ckERS!!!

Coming up in November, a few of the teams photographers will be hosting a team photo event which will be posted on the site, so basically the team heads will chose a date and we'll set this thing off. Along with team photos we'll be making team member profiles, so at the event we'll have one of our people ask you a few questions about your background and all that shizz.

We all hope everyone is having a sick fall season, we all look forward to seeing everyone soon..... and for god sakes... get your snowboards out of your basement and INTO YOUR ROOM!!

Peace!
From,
BIG Shred Daddy J. and the Funhouse Films Staff

Safari Park? 。。[:たらーっ:]Hey buddies! It’s Keiji the filmer. When it’s spring in Whistler (it’s hot like summer though), we can see some animals every once in a while. When I was driving my car a deer rocketed out and my eyes popped out and my truck almost hit him.But the deer didn’t care about me and went though like nothing had happened...At the heart house, a bear appeared. Kosuke was in the house then and he said he was so surprised.Today, I found three bears under the gondola! The one was climbing down from the tree. He was quicker than I thought.I thought they were bigger from the last time I saw them. They are growing up. I don’t want to meet them face to face... The odds are high that you can see some deer from the gondola. な??They are a type of black bear. They eat grass. Are we safe??? 05/28/07 南国四国より From southern island Shikoku タルト 画像汚くてすんません。 Sorry for the low resolution photo...It’s Konishi. This is a picture of me and the local special sweet called “Tart”.I went across the Shigenobu for the Voltage cup. There were so many super good kids and they threatened my carreer!I made a serious try in the half pipe, then the fathers of Ryo Aono and Kazuumi Fujita (both high-profiled figures now) gave me some tips. Thank you so much! Hello, it’s Taro the filmer.Lately, the season feels over and at the heart house there are only Shota, Kou-chan and me.We have only a week left. When it’s sunny, we still can go shooting in the backcountry so we went there with our sleds. These are the photos. To make a kicker in such hot weather, teamwork is the key.コウちゃんの特大cab540 This is Kosuke and Jun’s dual slam. (I was a bit scared though...)A bear was waving his paw when I started riding the horse!Canada is so nice. Bears in Whistler are so easy going. In Japan, we often hear the news that someone is attacked by a bear.It is so funny how the perception to bears is so different here. Take a deep breath and put the hose to your mouth.3. When you are mentally prepared, let go of the hose and drink beer that flows down into your mouth! It’s really a killer. The Beer momentum is so fast! You will be drunk in no time.Tadashi can gulp beer down like crazy. Yeah! I was in charge of cooking the meal so I was making everyone's dinner.Everybody worked hard splitting the fire wood to make the campfire!!I never slept in a tent before but it was more comfortable than I expected!!!2日目はモービルで撮影に行くチームと、テントの近くで遊ぶアイテム作るチームと二手に分かれてそれぞれ夜のセッションに向けて、アイテム作りをがんばってました。 。。。。。。アキ君ホントにごめんなさい!!!!!!!!!!!On the second day, we split up into two teams. One went shooting by sled and the other made some items for the night session near the tents.I was in the team that went shooting and I was so excited about riding a sled for the first time. I wanted to see the view from the mountain so I went up a little by myself. The scenery was so beautiful and it really got me.Then the accident happened!!!!!Aki’s sled was burning...............OH! Despite being cloudy the visibility was not that bad so we went to the park and the half pipe. Surprisingly, even though it is already May the half pipe was so big and well groomed. I saw someone get chucked from the pipe for going way too big! When riding slushy snow in the Spring, everyone should be conscious of the speed that each board can generate. I feel sorry for riding our sleds in those conditions. These are some photos from shooting with Tadashi two days ago.We woke up early but the weather wasn’t good, so we went back home once and waited. We kept checking on the conditions and skateboarded while we waited. In the afternoon, the weather was getting nice so we went shooting. There was still a threat of avalanches but we could shoot okay. 。。It was about time to leave (7pm) when Tadashi’s sled stopped suddenly. We were like “What the hell! That’s so sudden!” but we just had try and get back home for it was getting dark. You do not want to be in the backcountry overnight! On the way back, we had such a hard time like...We both fell because we couldn’t climb up the slope, and the rope that connected our sleds broke off and the bumper flied off right at me...While all of this was going on, darkness arrived and Tadashi made a bonfire...etcWe had to tow the sled on the dirt road so Tadashi’s sled got very dirty. Finally we got to the parking lot but putting the engine-stopped sled into the truck was like pushing a dead elephant up the stairs. We needed one more man-power...Our muscle were so strained and we were so muddy. We started getting a natural high... [:たらーっ:]After an hour or so of using our brains and power we were able to put the sled on the car at last!High five!! We were so happy at that moment. IF you are bored you can play DEAL or No Deal... CHECK OUT MORE AT: WWW.HEARTFILMS.COM.

Check it out yo! Baker was off the hook last Sunday. I got together with Ale_Capone and we went for the most aggro stuff we could get our sticks on including my second all time run down Gunsight. Check the notch in the cliff by Northface that's it. Mostly undoable but today there was plenty of snow and it was fun.

Other highlights include lots of runs in the terrain park where I figured a good line on hip jumps. Try this line one time and see if you like it. Start left up the jump and take off on the left corner aiming about 30 degrees right the jump shoots you up over the spine and you come down on the top part of the transition. If you have too much speed point it more down the spine and take more air. I dialed this line in and didn't have any trouble with landing it. The inrun was so bumpy, I slammed one time just maching it to the jump.

We ventured over to the cornice at the top of Sticky Wicket trees and took a couple of nice 10 foot airs. Ale got the most air and landed within inches of one of the trees! Way to go bud, just don't case 'em.

Great day of pushing limits and having fun.

The 3rd annual Longhorn Locals Rail Jam is a great excuse for me to get drunk and spout a bunch of shi*t that I always regret the next morning.  When will I learn?  My guess is never since I've been at it for 16 years now.  That's over half my life.  The boys over at Under Exposed Media Group really stepped it up this year and provided a sick set up while the crowd provided an energetic, positive vibe, that was completed by presence of a denture sporting, beer slamming, joint smoking granny.

Tonight i was haning out with my friend Kayla, it was awsome, we went and picked other people up...We had eggs and mustard, we threw 2 eggs at moving cars, but nothing happened until the third one, we were in a piece of shi*tt car when we egged this car, the guy slammed on his brakes and turned around, meaning while my friend KAYLA, started to panic and we ended up turrning the cornor doing 60 km/hr into a BAY, the car was filled of people all of us were saying "GO FASTER, TURN HERE, FUK hes ON OUR TAIL" man we thought we were going to get caught, until we got on the ring road, we were doing 160 km/hr, it was krazy, the guy in the other car couldnt catch up to us, so we got away (luckily) he was chassing us for 10-15 minutes straight, it was NUTSS!!!
After that we went to the other part of the city, adn we took the car at full speed and hit the garbage bins out side peoples houses, we were lucky no on saw us, until we decide to hit the last FULLIEST GARBAGE CAN WE COULD SEE, the garbage was all over out windshield, and a big bag on the road, when this van turned out way, my friend steped on the gas and went as fast as she could, the bad got stuck under the car... every person we passed by was looking at us as if we were on DRUGS.. lol only kayla and I were HIGH, lol it was great. My Blog: nightmare comp
By: hilla

today was it a nightmare comp in gesunda berget...
my litllebrother was there doing som photos, hes friend, that was on a comp yesterday, and slammed hard, so he got the skiistop in hes thigh, started bleeding as hell, and had to get to the hospital and had to stitch the thigh.. had decided not to go.

but when my litllebrother heard the speaker say that you could win at flips, he called marcus, and marcus told hes brother to drive him to gesunda. (it takes like one hour).

when he got there he had 20 minutes to pay for the comp, and compete, to get it to the final.

he makes some sick lines, and belive it or not, he came at a second place! it must have been for the sick superman he did as the last jump..

thats how a man rides!

The embarrassed moon turned away
It was like a door swinging
Which slammed at morning
Our ears hurt
Watching from our twin beds in the attic
But nobody ever learned
of our interest in the heavens

Shyly, our fingertips touched
As the glaring lighthouse beam
Swept across the room
And landed on our dominoes...

yeah so um.. i got a dandy concussion on saturday. dented the back of my helmet flat.. i'm pretty sure my head woulda been exploded on the ground if i wasn't wearing the thing.. i've still been having symptoms..... i'm not supposed to be using the computer. i haven't been allowed to go to classes all week. i might be able to get 1 day in. i had to get a catscan of my brain to make sure it wasn't bleeding and got this massive syringe of junk injected into a catheter they stuck in my arm to make the blood show up or whatever. it was pretty cool actually.. then i got my pelvis x-rayed to make sure i didn't fracture it. both were negative for bad stuff though! so that's good... i've just gotta rest my head like crazy and not slam it any time soon.. this is my 3rd concussion that i know of.. (first from snowboarding though). i can't ride for a couple weeks. that totally sucks. i'm gunna go back and slide the crap out of that box i flew off of............ i can't believe i did that. it was bad. i was so bored these past few days not being allowed to do Anything that i knitted a bright green and pink headband. it's pretty rad... oh and i stickered my gnu pretty rad too..... i had a ton of stickers that had been piling up from random stuff for a while now. if you couldn't tell, i'm extremely bored right now.. i haven't done or gone anywhere for the past 3 and a half days except for 2 trips to the ER. and it's snowing out. at least i'm not getting a headache again from being on here....... that's a good sign.........

i got a new helmet (obviously) ... the one i smashed was the RED hi-fi which was seriously the most comfortable thing EVER!!! and it was sooo light... my new one is the scotty arnold pro-tec b2. i like the shape and look of it a whole lot more (pretty much exactly like my skate helmet....) but after having worn the awesome hi-fi for so long, anything else feels like crap. it was so uncomfortable and even though it was my size it rolled up on my forehead. so i was all bummed and didn't wanna return it so being my clever self, i pulled the hi-fi liner off the velcro and threw it in the pro-tec helmet. all of the sudden it was like "*heavenly singing*" again. i dunno what that liner is made of... some kind of memory foam or something.... but it's Amazing............ and the helmet fits all snug on my head again and doesn't roll anymore. so i'm pretty stoked about that. also the speakers in the earpads have vent things on the outside of them so pretty much everyone around me can be annoyed by my weird music and i can just be rocking out pretending i have no idea everyone's staring at me. haha fun stuff.. that's especially fun when 60 people are crammed into the little tram that goes to the top of jay. the whole tram can hear it. aaaaaaaah i can't wait to ride again!! i want the gnu b-street board.. so sick... i totally don't need it though.... my park board is only a year old... boo. anyways i'm rambling because once again......I'M BORED... but i'd better get off here so my brain doesn't explode. so have fun riding guys!!

HOT ZONE HINTERTUX PARK OPENING 2007

Steve Gruber won the Ästhetiker Wängl Tängl 2towsend7

After bad weather threatened to postpone the Aesthetiker Jam Waengl Taengl schedule, Sunday’s reserve day delivered broken sunny skies and a chance to run the 30-rider Finals. In a best 2-out-of-3 run format the creative slopestyle course, built by the infamous Aesthetiker crew in Zillertal, gave birth to progressive snowboard action through a two line course: the first consisted of three kickers in a row and a huge Taco at the end; the second, a down-box to a high-turn to a flat-down Suzuki box, followed by a cradle, a corner & three rails.

A high level of international and riding talent, including TTR World Nr 9 Henning Marthinsen (NOR) and World Nr 12, Arthur Longo (FRA), challenged the judges. But it was local maverick Steve Gruber (AUT) who stole the show, winning with a Cab 720, switch backside 540 & backside 720 to win himself 850 TTR Ranking Points, 5,000USD cash prize and a Suzuki Quad bike. Close behind, and earning the 2nd place result, Jaakko Ruha (FIN) impressed the crowds with a Cab 900, backside 1080, and frontside 900. Scandinavia took another podium spot with Kalle Ohlsson (SWE) scoring a 3rd place finish through a clean Cab 900, frontside 720 & backside 720.

stated an overwhelmed Gruber (AUT).

Post-crowning the TTR Tour Champions, the calendar continues through to the end of April 2007. All TTR contests attended until then will provide riders with TTR Ranking Points for the 06/07 TTR Ranking List presented by Swatch to add to their overall ranking score until May 01st, 2007.

Top Results for the Hot Zone Team Rider @ Ästhetiker Shred Down

3 Hot-Zone Riders in top 6 at the Ästhetiker Shred Down in Westendorf

Ästhetiker Shred Down
Westendorf 2nd to 3rd march 2007

(Westendorf/AUT ─ 3.3.2007) ─ Not that it is something new but snowboarding is still depending on snow. This winter season is not easy in Europe. The lack of snow before a contest means a lot of work for shapers to be able to have a good park setup. Therefore great respect to the well shaped rail line. The open training session on Friday brought a few surprises to shapers and riders. The riders had a fantastic powder session in the woods just above the park whereas the shapers had to completely reshape the park line. The opinion of the park team about the 40 cm fresh snow was consequently very different to the one of the riders. Around midday the untracked runs became less and the park was ready again.

The first riders of Friday used the obstacles to get warmed up. A small quarterpipe, a wallride, a straight box, a long downrail and a fat kinked box offered more than enough possibilities for the riders to get ready for the contest day. Impressing was the riding of Michael Stanschitz, Herby Thaler and Wolle Beer with 270 variations showing their motivation for the contest on Saturday.

After the successful warm up party on Friday night in the ‘Kegelbahn’ the contest continued on Saturday with the qualification and the finals. The weather comparing to Friday was everything else than predictable. Riders and organisation were confronted with very changeable conditions. Rain during the training, strong snowfall during the first qualification heat, light snowfall during the second qualification heat, sunshine at the beginning of the finals, fog in the middle of the finals and bluebird at the end of the finals. On top of it wind that was dismantling tents and banners. But none the less the contest with a high level of technical riding could successfully be implemented. During the qualification it was a tough job for rookies and not directly qualified riders to show their abilities over the straight box, down rail and Suzuki kinked box. The best seven riders of every heat qualified for the finals that was carried out in a jam session format. During the qualification the rookie Simon Pircher convinced everyone with his stylish and technical runs that he was ready for the finals.

His solid performance during the finals and especially thanks to his fantastic result in qualification made him the deserved winner of the Shred Down 07 rookie award. As for Simon Pircher the Friday training was a great warm up for Michael Stanschitz. In his second run in the finals he showed an alley oop rock’n roll on the wallride, nosepress bs 180 on the straight box, tailslide 270 out and gap 270 on the kinked box. On top of it Mone Monsberger and Reini Rieser made everything very exciting. Reini Rieser showed a huge frontside air on the quarterpipe, nosepress bs 180 out, bs 50/50 180 out and gap 270 on the kinked box which put him on the second place. The Ästhetiker Mone Monsberger with a huge fs 3 mute on the quarter, cab 270, switch fs boardslide and gap 270 became second. At the end last years winner Michael Sranschitz won the Ästhetiker Shred Down 07 with his first run of the day. For the first time in the history of the Ästhetiker tour a rider defends his title and wins the same contest in two consecutive years. The first three riders received with their results a highly desired wildcard for the Ästhetiker Jam – Wängl Tängl held from 22nd to 25th of March in Mayrhofen. Friedl Kolar proved his style qualities and won the legendary Style Award.

At the end the culmination of this contest weekend was the Shred Down to the valley. The name of the contest is part of the program and therefore riders, shapers, organisers and media partners shredded down the mountain together. With a smile in their faces everyone arrived at the bottom with the memory of a great freestyle snowboard weekend.

Seppe Smits Won the Forum Snake Session @ Nordpark

It was the first Snake Sessions tour stop at Innsbruck’s local resort, Nordpark on last Saturday and the park was in relatively good shape for the current snow conditions. Previous night we had a nice late-night-session at the park, so we decided not to hurry up to the mountain, just up for the finals.
When we got up to the park, it was only 8 young guns left in the finals. We caught up with the judges; Forum team captain Jon Weaver and team/host rider Peter König, sat down with them and followed the finals. It was a relaxed one hour jam session at the park that consisted of rail, 10m kicker and a rail box at the end of the slope.
It is pretty amazing how many times you could jump that kicker. The short chairlift takes you up in 30 seconds, and then if you hit it straight from top to bottom, you can manage to do the lap in less than a minute.
After following these kids with big clothes(apparently a current fashion) pirouetting one after another from the kicker, I realized that most of them had some killer style. And we’ve been wondering why they call these guys youngbloods. They definitely are the future.

Soon it was time for the prize giving and Peter König announced the winners. It was Seppe Smits who took the 1st place with solid riding leaving his brother Anthony Smits on second place.

Hot Zone ISPO 2007 Report

The biggest qualified visitor trade show in Europe the ISPO 2007 in Munich has opened the doors. All theóß

big board sport company’s, are there to show us the new collections of 2008 and also some unknown little company’s are here to get a place in the market. To show you some exclusive products of 2008 I have made a trip to Munich to give you the first report of it.

Munich  05.07.2007 10:30 Uhr.

It’s hard to wait for your Christmas presents but my anticipation onto the ISPO is so big you can not realize. What will happen this year?

My first route starts at the biggest hall A1, all the big named company’s are there like Burton, Forum, Foursquare and many more. Sensory overload is my first thought when I was going in the hall. The first companies I visited were Forum, Foursquare and Special Blend. Austrian The Program sales rep Daniel has decided to give me and you a little fashion show, to represent his exclusive collection. Thanks for this Daniel. After a couple of shots I completed my first mission, and made my way to Nitro Snowboards, they always got a sweet looking booth. I felt like a paparazzi when I was taking the pictures, but anyway, amazing designs, crazy colours and like the years before more stylish than Paris Hilton in her best Gucci outfit. After a couple of tacos I found a little booth with a brand directly from Canada, the name of it is “Nomis”; if you ask yourself, what the hell is Nomis? I show you! This little company was born in Vancouver (Canada) and they produce zip hoodies, sweatshirts, hoodies, caps and much more. But the sensational of this is the love in the details and function. Mat Chamberlain has shown me the hottest products for the next season, and I mean literally hot.

One of the exclusive products is a heater in the zipper, its true so if you getting always cold like a girl, wear this on and you can regulate the warmth with the control panel in the pocket. And it’s washable. Thanks Mat for showing me these hot ass products.

After my lunch brake I found some Ride bindings behind bars, to hot to let them out. For 2008 Ride didn't care and built a collection you can not imagine. To give an insight check the pictures.

Colourful, powerful and awesome ideas! Who is this? This can be only the Neff Headwear Company. With crazy colours, crazy designs and love in the details Neff is showing us the new collection. Hats, Caps, Scarf’s, Shirts, Zippers, Headphones and much more is what makes Neff the unique company from California.

Also Salomon was working hard on there products. With fresh styles and colours they are showing us how creative a bunch of snowboarders are. In other words, basically the company hands them keys to there factory and they go bananas.

SP United, bindings, boots company deluxe. Fresh on board with there new team rider Danny Kass and a Pro Model binding. They also created a binding for the Austrian Zillertaler Crew “Ästhetiker” artless white with the big Ä logo on the highback. They always got some secret stuff, but nobody was thinking that the secret stuff can dance on smooth beats. With the words of my colleague “sex sells “.

Last but not least, I have visited the Shop Summit booth. Now you will ask yourself what is the Shop Summit? I will tell you.

Shop Summit, discuss your answers! Interact with shop owners and get advice from experts. Question yourself: Does your shop have an image? Is your Shop just a sales area? What does your turnover have to be for you to make money? Can your Shop compete against larger shops? To reduce the risk you can talk with experts like: Muck Müller (AT), Jeffrey Harbaugh (USA) Stefan Dongus & Thimo Kilberth (GER).

An awesome, hard day is over, after a long day I will go back home. I hope you have got a little insight of the Products for next season. Enjoy the winter and pray for snow!

Have fun. See ya.

Rudi Kröll reports from the European open!

Tuesday I came back from the Burton European Open 07 in Laax. I went there to ride the Slopestyle Competition which they moved up to the “Vorap” glacier due to bad snow conditions at lower levels. The park, which included 4 kickers, looked really perfect but it was a very difficult setup to ride.

You had to speedcheck every single kicker whereas there was not a lot of time between the kickers which made it pretty hard to get the right speed. Besides the kicker takeoff’s where very steep and the landings too which made it not easier to neither have a precision landing nor to stomp it. That means it was perfect airtime for the photographers.
Furthermore I had to notice that this bad winter also makes me a victim because I didn’t ride a kicker like that in 1,5 month. And there have been 4 kickers in a row at 3000m.

On Saturday there were really good weather conditions during the first heat of the Qualification which I was riding in. My brother “CK” was not really lucky. He was riding the second heat where all the kickers were in the shadow already and also the wind picked up and affected the shredding.

So I qualified for the semi-final which they planned on Sunday. Well, I was checking the weather forecast on Saturday night and it predicted strong wind and snow. So the Chillertal “Hot-Zone.tv” Crew decided to make party and hope for postponing the semi-final. And the plan turned out perfect! I slept till midday till I noticed that the semi-final got postponed to Monday. Sweet! Also Reini Rieser didn’t step out of his bed till the afternoon that day.

So, it was the same then in the BEO 06. No semi final. Everyone of the semi-final moves to the final on Monday. We took the second gondola up on the glacier. It was cloudy but there was no wind when we came up. So we started to train and I was doing 4 or 5 runs. I also tried a bs rodeo 7 on the first jump which I slammed. I was so high and when I came around I couldn’t see the landing at all. It was all white in white and I didn’t see the landing coming. And after 5 runs when the wind was picking up to about 80 km/h it was just impossible to do a safe contest there! So I think it was kind of the only decision to cancel the Slopestyle of this years BEO. It could have been postponed to Tuesday but as Shaun White and some other guys have to go to the X-Games that day it seemed like that wouldn’t be a possibility.
For me it sucks, because this would have been my first TTR result and it would have been a 6star.

Now I am back home and because the park caused some tension in my back I already have been to the masseur twice. In the moment it is dumping and I hope the winter will come finally!

Greets from the Chillertal
