I love receiving last minute phone calls with the 2 stroke hum of snowmobiles in the background. PortersTahoe.com Team Rider Brendon Drury hit me up and said he and his younger brother were up at Mt. Rose riding around on his snowmobiles in search of some terrain for some snowboarding.

It is always fun riding side saddle getting up to your destination as it can be quite a task. I did bail once off the sled on my belly like a land seal! Out in the backcountry you never know what kind of characters you'll run into as we ran into these slednecks who offered us cheeseburgers, beer and some of that funny smelling "rope".

After a brief chat with these friendly dudes (Brendon snatched a brew), we proceeded to find our zone where we could get some shots. Brendon dropped into a face that was really sunbaked and it was hard to get the spray that we wanted. It was a fun turn but we wanted more.

Brendon got another ride up on the sled and I was scouting a zone trying to find a good place where he could snap a turn. The snow surface had about a 3-4 inch crust layer on it so I had to find an area that was thinner. I found just the spot.
Brendon hiked over to where i was camped out & we planned our shot.

In pure anal photographer fashion...I had to light this shot up. Packing light this time out I had my Lumedyne 400 WS Action Pack, Canon 1D Mark II, Canon 15mm fisheye lens, Canon 50mm 1.4 prime, and my Canon 70-200mm lenses. This is a great 3 lens & one light setup to have out in the backcountry or anywhere for that matter. This is what we got.

Not bad considering the snow only had an inch of crust in this zone. He did break through to the bottom and hit the rock, but in the end it was all worth it. On the way down we had to stop just one more time to take in another epic Lake Tahoe sunset.

Thunderstorms were pretty non-existent this summer, so last night was the first soaking rain we've had since spring that I can remember. If we would've had a little more cold air, this sucker could've produced well over a foot of snow. Instead, snow levels remained about 9,000 feet and never dropped to the 7,500 that were being advertised.

Regardless, snow is snow.....and it got me excited to go see some of it first hand. I had some errands to run in Reno, so I went the long-way around by driving up the Mt. Rose highway. I pulled over about halfway up for a quick shot across to the southwest corner of Lake Tahoe. In the picture below, you can see Mt. Tallac and the Desolation Wilderness way off in the distance.

So then I continued on up Mt. Rose highway to the pass - the highest year-round, open road in the Sierras at almost 9,000 feet. I finally caught up to some white stuff I could actually touch 'n feel...

And then going back down the other side of the Mt. Rose highway, it doesn't quite look like The Chutes are ready to shred yet.....but it was just good to see some white on my little drive, and I can't complain.....kinda like seeing an ol' friend even if briefly

The land down under was taken over today as crowds flocked to watch the final men’s and women’s halfpipe competition at Perisher Blue Resort. Always a crowd favorite, the halfpipe finals were not to be missed as a field of impressive names threw down runs that were equally as impressive.

The men were first to drop and it was Mason Aguirre who showed strength early on with the highest first run score of 92.83. Fellow FREND Luke Mitrani topped Aguirre’s score with his second run that consisted of a frontside 900 tailgrab, followed by a backside Japan air, into a frontside 720 indy, finishing with a switch double backflip, the likes of which have never been seen at a halfpipe competition in Australia.

Not to be outdone, Aguirre rose to the challenge with a run that started with a Cab 1080 mute, followed by a frontside 900 melon, into a backside rodeo 540 indy, finishing with an alley-oop backside rodeo 720 indy, earning him the win and $7,500 AUD with a margin of less than one point. Aguirre had this to say of his win, “It was tough. Luke made me work for it but it was so much fun riding with the crew. The pipe held up really well and I’m stoked to win here in Oz.”

Mitrani held on to 2nd place and rode away with a big check for $3,500 AUD. Markus Malin, who landed 2nd place in New Zealand at the Burton Open last month, took home another podium win for Finland with 3rd place and $1,500 AUD.

In the women’s competition, Olympic gold medalist, Hannah Teter took the lead early on, with a technical run that combined back-to-back 540’s, into a 360 indy, followed by a Cab 720, finishing with a melon to fakie. “The pipe was really fun, everyone was riding super good considering the snow was a little slow,” said Teter of her win. “It was really motivating watching the guys and the girls throw down their tricks.”

Giving Teter a run for the money was Paulina Ligocka out of Poland, who has not competed in nearly a year due to injury. Ligocka showed no signs of struggle as she stuck a 720 on the first hit and landed a McTwist in her highest scoring run, taking home 2nd place and $3,500 AUD. New Zealand Open halfpipe champion Jamie Anderson won $1,500 AUD and the third place title. Anderson, the back-to-back X-Games slopestyle gold medalist and winner of the slopestyle competition at the New Zealand Open last month will take on her competitors tomorrow during slopestyle finals.

Luke Mitrani and Jamie Anderson are currently in the lead for the $100,000 Burton Global Open Series Championship title. After today’s Swatch TTR 5Star halfpipe event, Hannah Teter jumped 134 ranks into World No. 21, her highest rank ever. Jamie Anderson stays in World No. 1 as well as Chas Guldemond. Luke Mitrani and Stephan Maurer both entered into the Swatch TTR Top 5.

1 Mason Aguirre USA BURTON 94.17 $7,500
2 Luke Mitrani USA BURTON 93.50 $3,000
3 Markus Malin FIN BONFIRE 85.17 $1,500
4 Kevin Pearce USA BURTON 80.17 $700
5 Chas Guldemond USA DC 77.67 $350
6 Danny Davis USA BURTON 75.83 $175

1 Hannah Teter USA BURTON 91.67 $7,500
2 Paulina Ligocka POL BURTON 82.17 $3,000
3 Jamie Anderson USA BILLABONG 64.00 $1,500

The Burton Australian Open continues tomorrow with the men’s and women’s slopestyle semis and finals. For more information visit www.opensnowboarding.com. If you can’t make it to Australia, watch the semi-finals and finals live on Go211.com, where webcasts and highlights of the competitions will also be available for on-demand viewing once the event is over.

Burton would like to thank Go211.com, Corona, APN, Perisher Blue and Swatch TTR World Snowboard Tour for their support of the Australian Open.

Hey a bunch of my photos are up on the TWS site. No biggie.. Here's a little sampler incase you don't feel like clicking on the link to below.

This shot here is pretty bad ass. Its probably the best image of mountain peeks ever captured. The funny thing is I actually didn't even slow down the sled to get it, I just shot it over my shoulder. I'm getting pretty good at framing stuff without thinking these days..

I'm the only photographer Dev will even consider shooting with these days. We have this unspoken trust thing going on between us thats real difficult to put into words. We just vibe off each other and make magic like the shot above. Nuff said.

Its real close because we're both super talented but I'd have to say my photos style is actually better then Dev's riding style in this particular photo. The thing with photography most people don't really understand is that you gotta play for keeps.

Click here to see the rest of my shots.

Tadashi's uncle's sponsor me vid. Wow, his on some next level video game type moves..

Not bad for 50..

These Rosemonts could be yours free

for simply joining the IS Gang located to the left of this blog if you're on the www.iseyewear.com if not go to our site and sign up now. Or buck up and buy them. Its really up to you.

Roses are red.
Violets are blue.
Suicidal thoughts
persist without you.

Up in heaven
Things are just fine.
You've got your goods
And I've got mine.

Breaking my heart
Must feel so fun.
Because it's done
By everyone.

Love is a word.
People are fake.
Sleep forever.
And never wake.

With just one gun,
One bullet will do,
You can change some lives,
And end one too.

Upon belief to obscure the success to cut any sense of reality,

1682,1705,confused in a mind of chaos.

Dates among dreams which don’t exist. Fallen to pools of violent and hate, words to express colours.

April first descends a pulse, a heart beat?

Maybe a clock, maybe a butterfly.

A child falls; maybe jumps; doesn’t matter the out comes the same.

A disease, a whisper to awake, what’s real?

Am I real? Silent among distance, waiting to see, out comes the same!

I scream, I hurt, I cry, so why listen when you cant hear?

Delusions reverse inside to outside pulling me down.

A face shatters when smiled upon by a rabbit with no skin and eyes so dark confessions from my soul refuses to play.

What’s next? I’m alone! A mirror hangs from a neck ready to be hung, a reflexion of gilt, pain, love, a face of hundreds look back from my reflexion.

Lips so rear, so beautiful, so sweet, to melt in every hand that pills me down so deep.

I’m cold, I lie;…… got to have a body to be cold. What’s new?

To cremate a rose from fire of secrets, to drip a tear of oil from eyes sewen shut.

29 stitchers to the right eye that fate pilled the left side apart just to see a smile of innocents.

Chaos;…. I wait for them, you know who im tailing bout, they see you.

They watch, resist temptation to play, the dream, 42 pairs of paranoia, seconds to judge what you going to do..

Maggots cry too. Ever herd a man drowning? They don’t drown quietly.

Alive and remembering,….. I think

A mind so beautiful that your body is obsolete like a endless road waiting to b walked by an infant with no feet and a sister with no face

A mind so beautiful

I've said it before, but the Jeep 4.0L engine is the toughest, least maintenance-demanding engine I have ever had personal experience with. Folks on the internet know that the Jeep 4.0L is durable, but they know little of its history.

The original Jeep 4.0L inline-six was hewn from a solid block of granite by lightning bolts. Its cylinders were bored by the Imperial Winds and its rotating assembly was balanced by the Scales of Justice. The Ancient Egyptians used Jeep 4.0L engines to move the blocks which built the Pyramids, only switching to slave labor when it was found to be cheaper than the olive oil used to fuel the engines. Scientists have ranked the Jeep 4.0L engine as one of the strongest forces of nature, racking right up there with tectonic plate shifts for its low-end torque, and being surpassed by hurricanes only for its comparatively low redline. Mechanics have found imprints of fossilized dinosaur bones in block castings, and serial numbers in Roman numerals are a common sight. The design of the 4.0L's fuel injection system has been traced to the archives of Leonardo DaVinci, and early manuscripts of Shakespeare plays have been used as head gaskets for this engine (which, incidentally, explains the gaps in Shakespeare's collected works as well as the 4.0L's tendancy to leak oil). The engine's ancient roots also explain its ability to run on some very non-conventional fuels (original translations of the Rosetta Stone include evidence of Jeep 4.0L engines running on ox blood) as well as lubrications (during the Middle Ages, Jeep 4.0L crankcases were often filled with barley, with no detrimental effect on power output). Historians maintain that the fall of the Roman Empire hinged on their inability to design a superior engine, and had the Titanic been powered by a 4.0L Jeep engine, 1912 might have been a much happier year. Yes, had early-20th-century naval engineers had a touch more foresight, the Jeep 4.0L may have saved mankind from ever having to endure Leonardo DiCaprio and Celene Dion in the same sitting.

The only weakness in this otherwise unstoppable force of nature? Emissions. Yes, the engine's design may have come from the hand of Zeus, and its exhaust note at full throttle may have reverberated along the rock formations of Arizona to forge the Grand Canyon, but by the year 2007 its crude emissions control (originally consisting of papyrus strips soaked in the tears of the young Tutankhaman) had become outmoded, and the legendary, nay Biblical force of the Jeep 4.0L was put to rest.

By: Baby_seth

Your a rose in the dark.

Beauty unknown.

A princesse lost.

Becouse our story's untold.

I wish i could have you.

But i know your not mine.

When i wake up in the morning.

Your are the first thing on my mind.

 I always think about you.

 No matter what the time.

catch me spacing off and dreaming.

 About you and I.

  From Vail Resorts....

OLD MAN WINTER BLASTS THE COLORADO ROCKIES BLANKETING VAIL, BEAVER CREEK, KEYSTONE AND BRECKENRIDGE WITH SIGNIFICANT SNOWFALL

Vail, Colo.-Dec. 2, 2007-A significant winter storm left powder hounds giggling this morning with deep snow levels reported in the Colorado Rockies. This morning’s mid-mountain measurements showed 15 inches of new snow at Beaver Creek, with 11 inches falling at Vail and Breckenridge and 7 inches at Keystone.

Each of the resorts plans to open additional terrain by next weekend Dec. 8-9, 2007. Beaver Creek’s Rose Bowl opens on Monday, Dec. 3 and Breckenridge will open Peak 8 on Dec. 8. North Peak, Keystone's second mountain, will be ready for skiers and snowboarders by next weekend. Keystone also opened a second terrain park rail yard this weekend and is now offering more than 30 boxes, rails, wall rides and other jib features. Vail is currently offering more than 1,000 acres of terrain, 67 trails and 15 lifts. A mid-week storm is forecasted with more snowfall possible Wednesday through Friday.

I work down at the Pizza Pit
And I drive an old Hyundai
I still live with my mom and dad
I'm 5 foot 3 and overweight
I'm a scifi fanatic
A mild asthmatic
And I've never been to second base
But there's whole 'nother me
That you need to see
Go checkout MySpace

'Cause online I'm out in Hollywood
I'm 6 foot 5 and I look damn good
I drive a Maserati
I'm a black-belt in karate
And I love a good glass of wine
It turns girls on that I'm mysterious
I tell them I don't want nothing serious
'Cause even on a slow day
I could have a three way
Chat with two women at one time
I'm so much cooler online
So much cooler online

When I get home I kiss my mom
And she fixes me a snack
And I head down to my basement bedroom
And fire up my Mac
In real life the only time I've ever even been to L.A
Is when I got the chance with the marching band
To play tuba in the Rose Parade

Online I live in Malibu
I pose for Calvin Klein, I've been in GQ
I'm single and I'm rich
And I've got a set of six pack abs that would blow your mind
It turns girls on that I'm mysterious
I tell them I don't want nothing serious
'Cause even on a slow day
I could have a three way
Chat with two women at one time
I'm so much cooler online
So much cooler online

When you got my kind of stats
It's hard to get a date
Let alone a real girlfriend
But I grow another foot and I lose a bunch of weight
Every time I login

Online
I'm out in Hollywood
I'm 6 foot 5 and I look damn good
Even on a slow day
I could have a three way
Chat with two women at one time
I'm so much cooler online
Yeah, I'm cooler online
I'm so much cooler online
Yeah, I'm cooler online

Yeah, I'm cooler online

Yeah, I'll see ya online

Zeddy in action/ Office airplane

Featured in the photo above are the Rosedales. To find out more about the 2007 collection go to the product section of the site.

I showed our art director this photo of Zeddy and he suggested I post it. So there you have it, an action shot of the Zman cool as ice with a lay back no hander, sunglasses and no doubt on his way to score more smokes..

Special I.S. office moment:

dreams of  ecstasy slowly fading into the dark of sobering night
like wind sweapt willows crying out in the fog for someone to hear them
i say not a word as i watch my heart end
in a silent bang it dies
with no remorse i walk away feeling nothing and everything
it flows through me entwining itself to my being
suffercating my life
moreover i must go and disappear to the land of the dead
the land of the forgotten memories
to wait in slumber for the day that you come again
to bring new life to my wearly bones and lift me from my shallow grave

like tissue paper holding in it the delicate rose that will be given to the love
that with it will speak the hopes and fears of tomorrow as its thorns drive themselves into your flesh
a thousand knives carving their credos into your arm
you shriek out in devilish joy at the pain that has befallen you
with a silent grin you drive them in
its the most alive you have felt in ages
the pain of life so brutal and clean
like love only without the secret that holds us all together
the secret that makes us shudder in the wind at the thought of being alone and the fear of being together
oh the joy that awaits if we accompish the task oh the agony that will swallow us in the end

broken shards of glass line the house in which i live to remind me that i am alone
haven't seen another in years don't know if i am the only one
the day is spent looking for some thing i have lost
i don't know what it is

i had it long ago that is all i know
i don't know its shape or size of why i lost it
but it was important it was mine
you gave it to me
you must have
no one else would give me something so special
damn i wish i knew what it was
i hid it so that i would always have it
to keep it safe
from those who wished to take it
will you help me find it

come a little closer now and look me in the eye
what do you see do you see right through me into my inner being and out the back of my head
do you see the little lost child that i hid there hid deep inside and threw away the key
thats me
come closer still touch her hand
she is cold and scared
protect her love her
break the lock and set her free

i want you but i don't want to loose me
i want to show you that i am not scared of living
but i can't stop myself from dying
i want to show you i can love you
but i can't stop the self loathing
i'm a mess  of knots tied up tight
weathered in to a solid clump
i should be cut up and burned

please don't leave me i don't want to be alone again
i'll leave you stay i know heartbreak anyway
please leave i can't stand your stares
i can't stand the love in your eyes
i want to be alone again

dreams of ecstasy line my mind like a crippled fort in the foothills wounded by valent soldiers who can to lay seige to me
you can't make a home here amongst the cluttered memories of you
there is no room
not even for me
can i stay with you tonight i don't want to be alone

My Blog: the killer
By: 360double

i want to tear my heart out
and watch it bleed to death
and then put it in a ziplock bag
and mail it to you

my decrepid heart no longer beats for you
it doesn't beat for anyone any more
you gave me life in a moment
and in the next you took it away
and sent me on my way

your last kiss good bye was the kiss of death
the most beautiful kiss in my history
hiding a deathly goodbye
and taking with it all the feelings you had for me

now i stand in silence at my grave
you sent me dead roses i should have known
distance killed them
just like its killing us

so i will make one more desperate attempt in the months to come
to be the girl of your dreams
to be the only one
and maybe then you won't forget me
when its your time to go.
