Where's a good place to work for the winter?.
Posted on Jul 01, 2009

So, as part of my college degree, I get to spend 5 months this winter working at a ski area of my choice and I'm thinking somewhere in the Western USA is the way to go. Problem is, I really have no clue where to go.
I'm looking to work as an instructor and I was thinking of Lake Tahoe just because I already know some people there and it's a lower altitude than a lot of other places (I spent a year going to college in Colorado at 10,200ft and I had enough trouble breathing that there is no way I'd be able to work there).
So, what's a good resort to work at in the Tahoe area? If they have a snowboard race team, that would be even better since I am looking into getting into race coaching sometime in the future.
Or suggest some other ski area that you think would be a good place to work, it's base just can't be at like 9,000 feet or I'll die of oxygen deprivation. |
