October
These months that lay before me, they will be spectacular. Right now is like that hour before an amazing hardcore show that you know you're gonna get hurt, you know you're going to release some energy, that you're going to get knocked down and get your ass right back up again, that at the end you will be shaking with adrenaline wondering how it ended so fast. These are the good things in life. The long drives to the mountain with music blasting in your ears, watching the beautiful scenery go by. The crisp, clean mountain air that burns your lungs at first breath. Red cheeks and a red nose, matted hair due to your sweaty beanie. Riding down to the lodge to shove some food in your mouth so you don't collapse but also trying to get out of there as fast as possible and back up on the lifts. Fingers freezing on the 40 minute lift rides, ice crystals brushing against your face. The anticipation, the excitement, the curiousity, the absolute bliss of riding. It doesn't matter how good you are, what you ride, how long you've been riding for. As long as you've got passion for this sport, then you are a true snowboarder. Acknowledge the small things, ride as hard as you can, and know at the end of the day there's a warm bed and dreams of boarding. Tomorrow will be another snow filled day and that you'll do it all again.
