Snowboardaholic ????
I'm so obsessed with snowboarding I got the domain snowboard.com back in 1997 and moved to Whistler, BC. I said to hell with city life and no-fun jobs. I don’t care if I make less money with my career change into snowboarding. I may not make as much money now but my new lifestyle of living in Whistler and running snowboard.com is worth a million bucks to me. In my mind I’m living the life. The best thing I ever did in my life was embrace my obsession for snowboarding and followed it. Now I'm a really happy guy. Never feel any guilt about your passion for snowboarding overtaking all your thoughts, money and time. Snowboarding inspires us, gives us hope and makes our days happy ones when we are not even on the hill. When you are bored or feeling down you get hope and inspiration in your day as you escape into a snowboard dream. You’ll eat Kraft Dinner for months or whatever it takes to squeeze more money into a new snowboard, snowboard magazines, videos, clothing, lift tickets – I can always rationalize a snowboard purchase (investment). Non-snowboarding, boring city people think I have some kind of snowboarding drug problem. They have the problem – they haven’t tried snowboarding. Their life is not complete and will never be until they point a snowboard down the hill, they’ll never look back. If I owned a resort I would give out free beginner lift tickets for the bunny hill like a drug pusher gives out product samples. Once you catch a snowboard high there’s no turning back.
