Hi all. It’s been a pretty ballin’ ass season for the PTTR crew. After a season filled with rain and generally crap weather last year, we have been blessed by the snow gods with dump after dump of fresh white gold. Most of Ontario just got a late winter blast over the past weekend dropping 2 feet of fresh in some areas. We have all been taking full advantage of the good conditions and everyone has been getting all kinds of shots to step up their video parts. Bomb drops, hand rails, jumps and some shi*t that you’ll have to wait and see cause it’s so different and original. Besides filming some of the riders have been ripping up local comps and killin it! Tyler Ashbee has been on a comp rampage, and he’s not even a true comp kid. He is a street monster and the local Banger 3000. Ty  recently has got 2nd place at the Dagmar G’d Up From the Feet Up, 2nd at the Kirby Rail Jam, 3rd at the Am Jam Finals at Polsen, 2nd the week before that at the AM Jam qualifiers and 2nd place at the Kirby Slope Style event. DAMN!   If you think his comp standings are good, just wait till you see his video part. Gonna be sooo good.

This Past Saturday, Snow Valley hosted the first stop of the Smith Grudge Match V. The event went off! Lots of good riders of all ages both male and female were in attendance. The weather was beautiful and the park was solid thanks in part to Trevor Jennings who spent days and nights getting the park just right for the competition. The competition was strong and Jamie took out every sucka that stood in his way on the way to the finals. In the finals the competition was fierce and the final had to go to a 4th and final run to decide the outcome. Jamie fought hard, but was narrowly beat out. Still, Jamie took home another 2nd place finish and automatically advances to the finals of the Smith Grudge Match V on Feb 23rd at Mt. St. Louis. The announcing and the MCing was off the chains with L.S. and his DJ spinning live on the one’s and two’s all day. Defending Smith Grudge Match champion, Kevin Scriver, was ripping up the park all day, and the only thing that prevented a repeat of last year's finals showdown was an attempted hand plant on the top of the wall ride that went bad for Kevin. Kevin went up, planted his hand which then slipped out sending Kevin crashing down onto his head. Good thing helmets are mandatory at the comp! Will Johnson was out ripping and put together a solid second run. Trevor Jennings, not only built the park, he was competing too, Trev made the finals but working on the event and riding in the event was tiring for T.J. and he laid down after an attempted on the wall ride. Give the guy a break, he needed a rest. Tev and Keving also advance to the finals along with the remainder of the top 16 competitors. Congrats to all that came out and had a great day. Let's make the Lakeridge stop even better! See everyone out on Feb 2nd at Lakeridge.  Finally, we want to give a shout out to our girl Janelle Leclair who has impressed a lot out west this year, including the crew over at Diviante snowboard show.  Janelle is now getting hooked up by them on top of a long list of awesome supportive sponsors.

Paint the Town Red crew along with Stub Films (www.stubfilms.com) and Kontakt Filmproductions would like to Congratulate Jamie Corneal on a stellar performance at the Barn Shack Rail Attack this past Saturday.  Jamie put down on the 40 ft I beam and walked away with 1st place prize money, and some sweet stunts on film too.  Cory Gallon was riding amazing as he usually does and he was award the 'Mufff' best trick and some sweet cash.   P.S.  I think Cory may be one of my fav riders to watch.  We would also like to congratulate Jamie on being one hell of a dancer at the after party.  Dancing on a bar with 5 ladies with your pants down past your ass is true talent and a pretty sight for all.  Janelle Leclair held it down while still in Ontario on a break from world travel.  Janelle was not only one of few ladies' to make it too the end of the beam but she did it with pure steeze and threw it down better then a lot of individuals that were competing.  Big ups J-Nizzle.

Recently Toronto hosted the Ski and Snowboard Show and the Paint the Town Red crew was all up in there. The show itself was pretty ok and the after parties and the video premiers were super fun. Paint the Town Red showed the first teaser at Pur Lounge on Thursday during the Shred Heads party which was a really good time. The next day, we cut a brand new teaser (which you can check out over there in the video section) and debuted it at the amazing Pink Tie Affair event hosted by Eventsing (www.eventsing.com) at Spin Gallery. The event was ridiculous and we all had so much fun!

This past weekend, October 20, was the Clock Tower Rail Jam in Ottawa. What a great turn out. There was about 70 riders and about 500 spectators for the event. Unreal! Janelle Leclair was kind enough to grace us with her presence and she was well received by the judges as well. Janelle took down 2nd place in the female division. Good start to the preseason.

Muff (the facemask company) has just released there preseason press release and it looks like they are into some big things this year. Keep an eye out for all the Muff crew at preseason comps near you. Go talk to them and pick up a Muff. Muff Dive my friends!

I personally would like to give a big congrats to Lucas Ouellette and Ashley Nagy! On October 27, 2007, they will be getting married, or depending on when you read this, got married. We all wish you two the very best.

In other news, the PTTR crew just finished a great weekend in Toronto, Ontario at the Ski and Snowboard show.  Thursday night we were at the Pur Lounge for the premier of "Try This At Home" hosted by ShredHeads and we had a great showing of the first PTTR teaser.  Friday we did our thang and we got a 2nd teaser cut which debut at the Pink Tie Affair hosted by Andrew Singleton and the whole You Look Good team at Spin Gallery.
Be sure to check back for photos and the all new Teaser once we get it posted.  News, photos, videos and riders updates will be added to www.stubfilms.com shortly so make sure you go check that shi*t out too.
Let season 2 begin.

Much love.

She has been thugged out since she was a girl scout.  If she even went to girls scouts cause she was soo raw!  J-nizzle, aka Janelle Leclair, our very own shred-tacular lady, wearing baggy pants and rocking a wide stance, busted some sick, steezalicious stunts this past sat at Big White during the Rad Galz comp.  Janelle was dope on the scene all day, as she is everyday, and deservingly won herself a 2nd place finish.  I don't know if getting podium positions in comps is gangsta or not, but we will say it is!

So I hear that the Down Lo comp to close out Mount Saint Louis' seaons was amazing.  I wouldn't know first hand due to being in the wrong spot at the wrong time with the right amount of booze in me the night before.  Seriously!  Fine believe what you want.  But you should also believe this, our home boy Kevin Scriver, yeah the same Kevin Scriver who won the Ontario finals of the Smith Grudge Match (www.smmithoptics.com) just won the Down Lo comp this past Sunday.  Word the effe up Mr. Scriver!  Many witnesses have told me Kev went ginormmous all day and was one of only a couple people to hit the GIANT channel gap ... and stomp it!  Word.  The winnings couldn't have come at a better time either; Kev and fellow Paint the Town Red rider Kyle Taylor are on their way out west to end the season off proper.  (Proper as in MC Hammer proper).  Sorry I missed the awesomeness .. safe trip and see ya when ya get back to Ontario guys.
Also, happy birthday to Jamie Corneal and Chance Morison!  bottles to the ground!

Lil bit'o news -

As you may know, this past weekend was the Telus Triple Challenge at Blue Mountain (www.bluemountain.ca) in Collingwood, ON.  And as usual the event was sick.  Lots of stunts were thrown down, lots of dance steps were learned and improved and in a lot of case made a mockery off...but it's all good, it's about the fun not if you look like a drunk elephant on the dance floor or not.  Opps...got off topic there.  Our girl Danielle Brown who has been killin' the comp series this season got herself a 2nd place finish in Ladies' Slope Style.  High fives and ass smacks all around for another good show D.  Jamie Corneal rode sick again in the Mens division and took home a 5th place overall placing.  Jamie loves comps.  Trevor Jennings is a crazy man.  That's it.  Nothing to do with anything in this entire blog.  Just he's crazy.  Oh wait, it does have something to do with it, Trev is crazy cause during practice for the big air on Sat he OVER SHOT the jump and landed alsmost flat.  In case you don't know, THAT'S F*CKIN' HUGE!  Trev unfortunately suffered a brusied ankle for his craziness but he's back riding and hitting the rails this week.  Just another piece of protective gear that Trev may have to strap on his body before he rides. He is looking more and more like a bionic man when he shreds then ever before!

I would like to be the first to announce that Tyler Ashbee is now riding for Scotties' (www.iridescotties.com) will be riding all new Ride boards, boots and binding combined with Section (www.section.com) outterwear.  Congrats Tyler.

Stay tuned party people...teaser and web site coming soon.....

Our boy Dan House and a couple friends were out killin' it this past weekend.  The boys went out and hit June Lake handrail, which got abused in a good way with out any interuptions except the odd passerby that wanted to check out some stunts, or some destruction on the brutal cheese gratter stairs.  Either way, those who did pass by got  to see a handrail get torn up!  Dan House ended up chipping a bone in his hand while shreddin' but that didnt stop him from riding all weekend.  The boys also hit up Donner Pass for some sweet cliff, booter and powder face shot action.  Everyone loves face shots right?  don't try to hide it!  We know you do.  Donner Pass was off the chains, even though the guys had to deal with yuppie ski school instructors chirppin' them from the road as they drove they fancy cars to their fancy, preppy jobs.  Aren't yuppies suppose to just talk ish behind people's back and not say anything to their face?  either way, yuppies suck.  Check out some of the footage at Stub_Films profile or click here to short cut your way to greatness!
Enjoy!

Man down! Man down!  Actually I should say "men" down due to the fact that two of the riders from Paint the Town Red were plagued by injuries last week.  Brock Mills was riding the local Lakeridge park and was working on some new delicious spins and he landed on his right wrist.  That's not the body part you want to land on.  For all his efforts, Brock has a wicked bad broken wrist and will be out for the rest of the season, well the Ontario season anyways.  On a brighter note: he doesn't need surgery as originally thought.  Also, Kevin Scriver was warming up at the park getting ready to go and kill some urban shred, but, alas, he tweaked his ankle.  At least it isn't a serious injury and he might even be back for the Telus Triple Challenge (http://www.bluemountain.ca/triplechallenge/) at Blue Mountain this weekend, March 8 - 10.  Quick healing and happy thoughts go out to both of the injuired...we hope to see you back in good health sooner then later.  Ohh... you can check out pics of the injuries at the Stub_Films profile.  Go there now: www.snowboard.com/Stub_Films

Check back soon for news regarding the "Nationals".

Holly sh*t.  That pretty much sums up everything that happened on the Paint the Town Red Ottawa Road trip.  The crew, consisting of riders Trevor Jennings, Kyle Taylor, Kevin Scriver, Will Johnson, Alex Beebe, Tyler Ashbee, Jamie Corneal, Brock Mills photographer Rhys Hastings, film maker Adam Bialo and myself, Stuart Britton all meet up on Thursday night in the middle of a wicked snow storm and hit the extra slippery highway in Oshawa to begin our road trip to Ottawa.  (Actually we stayed in Gatineau but whatever). Our drive which would usually take 3 hours turned into a 5 hour journey due to the brutal driving conditions.  We rolled in at 3am and crashed.  Up on Friday at 730 to get some McDs breakfast and start scopping out some urban spots in downtown Ottawa.  With a bit of luck and some local directions we were able to find some amazing rails, bomb drops and some unusual urban landscape to destroy...and I do mean destroy!  The crew ripped the hell out of everything they touched pretty much all weekend.  After a long day of slaying everything we went and grabbed some dirty food, cheap beer and headed back to the hotel rooms for some epic Guitar Hero!  Not only can these guys shred they can rock the fak out!  EPIC!!!  Wall rides in the hotel were another high light of the night as well.  After a good night of chillin out we were back at it on Sat morning.  We ended up going to an amazing location and breaking up into smaller groups to get more done.  And the plan worked out great.  Some peeps hit the rails, some wall rides, some bomb drop and another a giant wall slash!  Ottawa was killed again...two murders in two days.  Sat night consisted of Le Pigale... I wont even get into it cause I could write an entire novel on just that Cabaret!  DAMN fine and out of control.  Also downtown Ottawa was a hot spot Sat night.  Sunday a few of the riders (Alex Beebe, Will Johnson, Tyler Ashbee) stuck around with photographer Rhys Hastings to shoot some more film and stills while the rest of us nursed hangovers and ate a great breakfast and headed back home.  Rhys got daring and almost died for his efforts on some gnar rock gap drop...but he's ok people...the back drop to flat couldn't slow him down.  All and all...Ottawa was a dope trip filled with amazing riding, crazy parties, good friends and a lot of fun and laughter.  Check back to Stub_Films profile for video and some photos of the trip to be posted soon.  Also make sure you check out photolishus' profile and www.photolishus.com for amazing photos shot by Rhys Hastings from this road trip and much more.

Janelle Leclair, our own Ontario female shredder living out in Big White was in Alberta this past weekend competing in the You Look Good slopestyle snowboard series at Norquay.  Janelle had a solid preformance and finished in third place in the woman's category.  She brought home $200 cash and a big ass novelty cheque to hang up in her room.  For all the details, final results, video and pictures check out: www.youlookgood.ca .  Congrats to Janelle Leclair and all the other riders who tore shiiiaaat up.
