YAY so i managed to make it out ONE LAST TIME this season!! i owe some people some money...but you do what you got to right??

I honestly didn't even think I'd make it out to Marmot Basin this year...but I did and I'm glad!!
Some brief notes to remember it by:

The Atha-b
The (Over)Gap(ped)
new shredsticks
new friends
snowboarding during the day
(attempting - very poorly) to skate later on
goggle tans (OF COURSE!!)

filming (gonna become an annual thing...weeee)
getting lost
losing nerves
(and then finding it all again)

bombing across the main run to "boardslide" the edge of a run - with ppl coming down it

a weekend of firsts

and so many stories...hopefully we'll remember them all :)




thank god i didn't quit like i wanted to...

also...i'm getting a new deck for next season for SURE now :D:D gonna step it down a couple sizes too...prolly a '49 or a '51...we'll see...
going shopping tomoro...unfortunately i can't actually buy anything :'( lol

ok so it's not really THAT funny as it is the end of my season :( but watcha gonna do when you're a uni student with zero dollars and no snow in the hometown..?

reminisce...!

last day of riding, '07:
it was an absolutely BEE-YOU-TEE-FULL day...definitely t-shirt weather...and i? sick as a sick person (no...not as a dog...because i don't know about most dogs but i'm pretty sure that USUALLY they are healthy...at least mine is...and smelly...and i'm not smelly so therefore not sick as a dog...anyway i digress...)
friday i got super sick...hot outside, freezing inside, h-core shakes...didn't even get through our second viewing of 300 :( (going again next weekend probably haha) but the fever broke friday night thank god.
spent saturday recouping...and then did the insanely stupid thing of shredding sunday ALL DAY anyway...

at the hill from 8:30 to 6:00...on the hill for probably 80% of that...and you know what? it was just a stupendous day.
the slushy snow is perfect to learn new stuff on...and my bravery increased five-fold...i was actually popping off jumps instead of just riding...i attempted some boardslidess (ya...these still need work...haha) and practicing my ones.
finally decided to get my first attempt (ever) of a 360 on tape...so i bee-lined it to the jump, started to counter-rotate and realized i didn't have quite enough speed... freakin' best 180 EVER hahaha...
so then i wanted to get at least ONE good nosepress on the flat box on tape...so i hiked that mother for a good hour or so trying...some hooligans in the park effed up the run-in so it was a pretty good ollie to nospress when i finally did it...actually, sorry, ollie to nosepress, tail tap out...hahaha tail tap totally flukey but apparently it had some steeze factor :)

and ya idunno...the sun was shining and we just chilled all day in the park...it was super awsome fantasticness! =D

Tonight is Christmas Eve Eve...I cannot wait until Christmas Day!!! It should be a good one considering we leave for BC the next day....and may I say I am BEYOND stoked!!!!!!! =D =D =D

It's gonna actually be 6 days near Red Mountain, BC; yeehaw. Oh, and I finally did my first 180 on Thursday :)

Well I've decided that I really need a new deck this year :( and the bf said he's more than happy to pitch in as a christmas gift...but i don't want him to spend so much money on me; i also don't want to ask my parents to help out because they're paying for my schooling.

Pretty sure I want last year's Endeavor Diamond though, because it's awsome and it'll be cheaper than this year's Ride Fever.

Idunno...maybe I'll win the lottery in the next month! haha

Also...counting down until we go to BC =D It is going to be AMAZING!!! One week near Red Mountain...up to 5 days of riding...'nuff said. I just hope we make it haha I know the roads can be super crappy that time of year...

OK so I was in the middle of scrambling to get all my homework done today...two assignments due Monday...so I could go to the bar tonight for my friend's bday...when the bf calls up and says "oh my god easyrider has all their stuff out...50% off"
now you see...i really really need a new helmet, and a jacket, then pants, gloves, a deck, and boots...in that order...
so i decided to take a rather long break and go shopping...may as well grab a jacket if it's 50% off right?
so i drove the half an hour it takes to get there...and looked at some jackets
tried on this simple blue NFA one...

and then

i saw

the pants...

i'm sure you've all seen them...the orange Burton's from last year?
so ya...50% off...

'nuff said right :)

and then i went to buy them...tough tough decision because i am h-core against burton haha
but i figure i can put that aside due to the sheer sweetness of these pants...
then the salesguy ruins it by saying: "oh sweet...the shawn white pants eh?"

f*ck.

i hate shawn white for everything he stands for...more than i dislike burton...i mean i can get over burton because they do make sweeeet clothing...but shawn??
ugh

so anyway...the guy threw in a bandana "to get my steez on" (lmao...i can't believe he actually said that...it actually made my day) and i took them anyway
so i'm gonna feel like a guilty conformist burton-whore on the hill...but i will look DAMN good...and by that i mean like a pumpkin :)...on the hill this year!

so wow
i got a job at fs girls last week
today was my fourth shift

it's actually kind of a decent job when there's stuff to do...but mostly it's like "k guys...uh...spread out and fold something"

seriously how retarded and superfluous is that!
also i would just like to note here that superfluous is a super word :)

anyway back to work...funny things really...during my break i went to the guys' store to see what kind of shoes they have in stock
and i was talking to this chick...and i said "damn you guys have all the cool stuff!" to which she laughs and replies "that's why i work HERE!"
haha...maybe i'll ask to get transferred...idunno...it's a big store and i don't actually need to buy guys' clothes...

we shall see :)

wow...i actually had no idea today was "Go Skateboarding Day"...but it's awsome cuz i really felt like going anyway =D
i just started skating this year...because not being able to shred is driving me INSANE...and i really like it.
anyway...today i finally made it down my driveway and off the curb =D
the boyfriend has been trying to get me to do it...twice now i think...but neway today i did it! and i was so proud...and then i skated up and down the street a couple times and tried to do some manuals which didn't work out so well but whatever...i'll get it eventually! just like nose stalls...i can kinda do that now =D from sheer stubbornness...

skateboarding is so fricken frustrating and awsome and i'm very glad some guy gave me his for free =D

that said...let it snow :)

ok...so ya
grad was this weekend...
and quite honestly i was disappointed
friday i went to see xmen 3 with some friends...and didn't get to thoroughly enjoy the day because i had to rush home in time to leave for commencement...which i'm pretty sure started late anyway
josh and i spent the whole three hours pretty much sitting in our chairs trying to see who could get their tassle to swing in a better circle
and we sang.
hahaha
apparently i should take singing lessons because my tone is good, but i don't always hit the right notes. i'm just gonna take it as a compliment...lawl
and then i got my "IOU diploma"
it says "Congratulations to the Class of 2006" or something...lame.
but w/e...
i went and visited some people i used to work with and it's good to know they all miss me :)

saturday morning i woke up about 11:00 i think...and noone was home for w/e reason and i was bored so i decided to actually do my hair.
it looked pretty good :)
the bf came over by 3:30 and we left to meet everyone at school to catch the trolley (which was supPOSED to be a double decker bus...you don't even realize how pissed i am about that)
so finally the bus got there and we took it to the legislature grounds to take pictures
everyone was kinda everywhere doing their own thing...so i got some good pics...but not as many as i wanted
also...the bf felt kinda left out i think. i felt bad :(
but we took one hilarious pic together...basically he's making an "offer" to me..the hooker haha
yup...that was daddy's idea hehe
and then we got back onto the trolley to take it to the banquet
oh did i mention the hockey game was on that night? yea...well it was...frick eh!?
so skyler had a walkman to listen to the game...but no reception downstairs =*(
we found out the score easily though...cuz everyone we scored SOMEONE cheered...haha
and ya...so the grads had to congregate outside so we could all walk in (they call it "processing" but i think that is a retarded, non-existent term ahah) and so i left the boy alone for...swear to god...prolly 20 or 30 min =@
and then when we finally walked in noone knew what to do...so neway we ended up just kinda standing there with everyone staring at us. so me and phil danced...because what else was there to do! standing is boring haha
finally i got to go see le bf and dinner started
we missed the first dance because of the f*cking hockey game :(
i kinda wanted to watch the game too...and thank god we won because if we lost AND we missed the first dance...f*ck...i would have killed someone

well dinner was good...dessert was scrumptious
and the dance sucked
it didn't even start 'til 9 and we had to leave by 11
not to mention we left for a bit to go find skyler's best friend cuz his grad was in the same building lmao
and when we got back we had time for a couple more dances and then had to leave
so we get back to the table and all our shi*t is gone...i.e. his jacket/wallet, and my purse (i had my money at least...)
and i figured my friends just took it for safekeeping so we went upstairs to see if they were at their limo
turns out they were still in the dance so we went all the way back down, and they were PISSED at us!!
freaking out..."omg you guys we're late for the limo!!"
f*ck...the limo can wait! =@

but neway...the limo ride to my friend's house was actually pretty fun and everyone was looking forward to a party
long story short: the party was lame
i didn't even get drunk
skyler was super quiet...and it was just kinda boring
although i did do a "cement mixer" which became kind of the "thing" to talk about that night hahaha
THAT was fun...
and then we got kicked out at 2 (who the hell ends a party at two?!) and went to another friend's house
she was drunk (she's kinda cute drunk...really giggly and just not herself lol) and so was her boyfriend
he's never allowed to drink again...farkin most talkative drunk EVER =@
we stayed at her house long enough to finish a beer (for skyler) and a brown cow (for me) and it was wayyy too quiet/dead/boring to stay so we cabbed it home
it took every muscle in my body to restrain from punching josh (the talkative drunk) on the way home...

and then skyler ended up sleeping over and we played amped 2 and watched rocky horror picture show =D which was fun
went to bed at like 6:30...i woke up at about 9
woke skyler up at about 10:30 lol
i got my dad to make waffles :) which was most excellent!
and that was the end of the grad experience pretty much...

i spent most of sunday organizing pics to send to ppl lol

and i was so f*cking tired that i just wanted to sleep all day...but we went out for dinner that night
and i'm pretty sure something didn't agree with me from that cuz i had the worst stomacheache ever =*( seriously...it must have been close to childbirth hahaha

i skipped monday morning to sleep...showed up at school for twenty minutes of social and two spares lmao
OOPS!
but i did get to hear ppls' stories of their respective after grad festivites...haha
apparently a lot of random making out at safe grad which is no biggie...but two kids got caught having sex lmao
how awkward would that be!!?

and ya...that pretty much brings us to today

i think i'm gonna end up re-taking the math diploma...we'll see
time will tell :)
and i've written a lot...so ciaoza

two weekends in a row that rocked...
skyler's grad was rad
and i'm looking forward to mine :)

speaking of which...they picked "Don't Stop Believing" and "Faith of the Heart" as our grad songs...shudder...

i took a bunch of "artsy" fotos twoday...guess i was just that bored haha
my teeth also really hurt right now...i think it's almost time for bed *yawn*

just over a month 'til the end of school =D

so wow...this weekend was just absolutely incredible :)

started out playing road hockey on friday...got a blister :( but it was sooo awsome...played with an actual plastic stick so it didn't drag on the cement haha
didn't go to bed 'til midnight...didn't sleep much anyway but i was sposed to get up again at 4:30
noone woke me up until at least quarter to five...and then they bugged me for keeping them behind haha yarghh
took a couple granola bars on the road and we were good to go...started to watch family guy on the portable dvd player...fell asleep three episodes in...
woke up to black hawk down...fell asleep and woke up again a few times through that one...pity...that's such a good movie :(
then i made the guys find the safeway in canmore...i HAD to get a lumber jack sandwich :) for those of you who don't know what it is...it's basically a huge ass sub. it lasted me all weekend.
o...and i needed pop tarts :)

so neway...we finally got on the hill by about 10:30-11...after we had our bags sent up to the hotel (we were staying on the hill...) we took the gondola up ourselves.
everyone was pretty stoked...it was james and steve's first time to sunshine...and my second time there
so saturday was rad...super blue skies...BEAUTIFUL. the snow got pretty gross by the end of the day...so slushy it was really almost impossible to pick up any speed...
in fact...i got stuck more than once because the snow was too sticky haha
one time the two boys skyler and james were following me and then they realized we wouldn't have enough speed and they started to yell at me to turn and just go to the lift...neway...i had to actually fall backwards so my board would get unstuck. i was shin deep in slush... x_X

we also had the kick ass snowball fight of the century...it lasted pretty much from the top of the continental divide chair to almost the bottom...just riding and hucking snow at each other it was awsome. especially me and james...man we were at WAR this weekend hahaha
unfortunately our battle ended prematurely (i.e. didn't last 'til the bottom...) because i ate it pretty hardcore :S apparently i scorpioned..? i think it was more like a few scorpions...a 360 and some other shi*t; anyway...i winded myself pretty bad, thought i had broken something, and just lay there groaning. skyler was gonna ride by, point, and laugh (it was probably actually really funny to watch...) then he realized i was really hurt. all i can say is thank god for helmets...
after about 10 min my head felt kinda alright...i got a little knick from my helmet and a bunch of scratches from my chin to my chest...but i was ok to ride the few hours we had left for the day.

saturday night it actually rained for a bit...i was really worried it would freeze and be super shi*tty conditions for sunday :S but neway...it stopped finally and we took advantage of the humongo outdoor hot tub :) and the sauna...which was really fricken hot even for a sauna x_X finally went back to the room...took a shower and watched top gun
went to bed again at midnight...

now...the hotel room had two rooms separated by the shower and toilet...there was a room for the shower and a room for the toilet...lol and the boys and steve got one room and i got the other one...

damn it's great to be a girl hahaha
so i woke up sunday morning around 8 or 8:30...i couldn't sleep cuz the curtains were open enough to let in too much light lol...but i noticed it looked a little too white outside
it was snowing...april 30...and it was SNOWING
blew my mind...i literally stood there for like 5-10 min and just stared at everything outside...it was beautiful...and then the chairs started to run and i realized what time it was and i ran to the guys' room and tried to get them to wake up so we could be first on the chair...
i'm like "omg...guys it's snowing" and instead of enthusiasm i get "what kinda of snow is it...good stuff or the bitchy kind?" lol
neway...they didn't wake up...so i tried to go find steve to see if we could go up and then come back for the guys after a couple runs...couldn't find him though so i went back to the room and snapped a couple pics

when we finally got on the snow...it was actually really good powder! sooo much fricken fun :) and steve ran into me a couple runs into the day lol...i turn around and he's COVERED in snow...
we spent a lot of the day in the pipe too...o which reminds me...james is my fricken hero for getting half backflips down pact...hahaha but neway...the four of us were chilling at the top of the pipe and these dumbass skiers were just standing there at the bottom of it...right on the exit of the left wall...so i'm like "k...want me to go beat them up? haha" and i guess everyone thought i was joking because they seemed pretty shocked when i went down and actually did it...
not beat them up...but i got the skiers to move haha i heard one guy mutter "we wouldn't have this problem if it was a NORMAL halfpip!" wtf buddy...do you not realize that people like to take advantage of every aspect of the pipe..? and you were in the way...but w/e

i was so f*cking tired (prolly partially due to minor head trauma from the previous day...haha) that i was actually falling asleep coming down a black diamond...so i got to the entrance of the park and just fell down...i coulda fallen asleep there except i thought i might be in the way...so i headed into the park and decided to hit the rollercoaster box (i love those!) on my way through...i completely missed x_X like you know you're tired when eh..? so i chilled on the picnic table until james and skyler came back...took a good thirty minute nap :) haha

the rest of the day was pretty chill...my legs were burning cuz i'm so out of shape but it was all good...we went on one run off goat's eye and it was hilarious...skyler and james had a snowball race...james pwned...actually his snowball turned into a kind of a wheel haha and it was HUGE...easily a few feet in diameter...

we stayed on the hill until last run and didn't get off the mountain 'til at least 5:30...stopped at the BP's in canmore for dinner...and the waitress rocked my fricken socks. she was GOOD haha i didn't even have to wait to ask for a refill or w/e...and she knew she served james the wrong pop and stuff...wish i could be that cool :( haha
neway...i saw this little girl at the table next to us and i got jealous so i went and got a colouring sheet too :)

all in all it was a raaaad trip :)

an english assignment... "Descrbie your bedroom." Plain and simple...except that we were supposed to have a certain "style" when writing...so i'm not sure what kinda steez i got goin on here...but i thought i'd share :)

so without further ado...My Room

            Now entering suburbia: logical, flourishing, and white. A simple black sign confesses that this area is JACKIE; at night the six large letters glow under the light of a star, strategically placed over the J. On the opposite wall books stand between two ship-shaped bookends, proud, like a row of new houses. Around the room there are a few empty plots, and then more books. A built-in desk is just under the window, which gets the evening light, and is a permanent temporary landfill. Yearbooks, old written pieces, useless keepsakes and birthday gifts clutter the zone, waiting to be tossed out or picked up by someone else. Various items of clothing shield the desk chair from any potential use, and more clothes usually lie on the floor protecting dust and lint from the evils of a vacuum cleaner. The bed sits as a house whose owner started construction but ran out of funds, blankets thrown across it in a sad attempt to make it presentable. An alarm clock waits within arm’s reach, ready to attack in the morning. Inspirational quotes and posters hang on every wall; pictures of friends, ticket stubs, and posters litter the door - the graffiti of an exit sign.

got me thinking...how many peoples' pages do i creep on here? pretty sure not many...i mean i feel bad stopping by and not leaving a message
so i look through pics, read blogs if i'm really bored...ya w/e...it's all good haha



i'm kinda scared...my knee still hurts and we're leaving for sunshine on saturday. i think i might actually cry...but i just won't tell anybody who's going until we get there; i'll injure myself there... ;)

that's gonna be a blast by the way...like holee scheizza...sunshine inn...and on the ride there and back i'm gonna make james sit in the middle so nobody sleeps on me hahaha



yesterday i wore a sword at school. it was rad.
some day in the next week i'm gonna try a bow and arrows...i.e. a stick with floss or string on it and a bunch of twigs



i've also decided to accept my body as it is...because surgery looks gross and scary and scars you for life x_X
i've also decided to stop overeating...keep ya posted haha



so neway...may's gonna be a rad month :) this weekend: sunshine; next weekend: bf's grad; next next weekend: car rally; next next next weekend: my grad
told you it was gonna be fun :)

ok, so today i got some of the nicest compliments ever :)

kind of jokingly i said to my friend "k. so i've pretty much concluded that i am the most colourful emo person ever."
"WHAT?! haha you're not emo. you're anti-emo. you're the kind of person emo kids look at and melt."

and then on the bus...i was sitting next to my good buddy jordan who was listening to some music, and chad wanted to listen but he was standing. so he asked if he could sit on my lap and i was like "sure. just watch the knee..." (cuz it's still hurt...) and then he said he felt bad for sitting on a girl...like he was crushing me (he wasn't) lol so he stood up...but he was still listening to music so he was kinda hunched over and it looked awkward...so i told him i'd switch spots. he said he felt bad for taking my seat but jordan's like "don't worry...jackie's like one of the guys! ... except...she's a girl...." hahaha i love jordan

i'm still not sure if this counts...but i got other peoples' opinions and i am very proud of myself now.

I DID A 180 =D =D =D

actually... I DID A WHOLE BUNCH OF 1's!!!!! hehehe
50-50 on a rollercoaster box to fakie...booya

and then we were hitting this hip for most of the day...a lot of the time i just took off straight airs, but i did attempt a couple more 1's...and ya...didn't work so good but gosh, it doesn't hurt at ALL to fall in slush!!! lol
i must say, my arms are a bit scratched up, but that's just because i only had a t-shirt on...it was so warm yesterday that i didn't even wear gloves =O haha

so neway, this is kinda how it went down when i attempted a 180 off the hip...
first attempt: kinda popped a 90 (i THINK i was trying a fs?)...fleeeewwww through the air (definitely an 'o shi*t' moment...) like friggen spiderman - or trinity from matrix 1 haha - and landed on my ass...the dudes i was with were laughing so hard (as was i) and i just wish i coulda seen the look on my face...i bet it was hilarious
second attempt: i think this attempt would be considered bs...but neway...i think i pulled about a 110...lol landed on my toe edge, and scorpioned for about a metre. that was was f*cking hilarious...except it was my last run and i really wanted to get the trick down. oh well :( when you're the only one who's not tired it's hard to force the other guys to stay...haha

(the thing is...my goal for this year was to be able to do a 180, and i meant off a jump or on flat ground...but i did get one off a box...so idunno if i'm gonna count it. maybe. but i'm gonna keep working on them neway)

sunday will be my last day of the season :( i'll keep working on my 1's...maybe hit up the small jump in the park again and get an indy down or something easy. wish me luck :)

i don't have any cool westbeach memories :(
i did find a used car once though, with two snazzy westbeach stickers on it...pretty much the sole reason i wanted that car. no i did not get it :(

the other day (gotta love spring conditions eh!?) it was too hot to ride with my jacket on...so to be funny i wore a golf tee. and tucked it in.
i think i need a new jacket so people will not laugh at me =*( haha

so ya...the other day about 10 of us went to Albert's Family Restaurant for brekkie
i ordered the Flap Jacket...which is basically a huge pancake folded in half with blueberries inside :) can you say yum..? haha
and then my friend and i were still hungry and our other friend didn't wanna finish her two pieces of french toast (out of three pieces she ate one...wtf???) and i didn't realize this at the time, but a fourth friend videotaped it on her phone. apparently we polished off those suckers in 15 secs...that's including the time it took to pour on the syrup. and did i mention i was using spoons?? haha o ya...it was impressive...

then we went to West Edmonton Mall (damn rights...) for a few hours
first store we hit was Le Chateau...DEFINITELY not my kind of store...but the friend who helped me eat the french toast needed to buy something there so we all went
i saw this sick "leather" jacket though...and i put it on and i'm like "hey guys look i'm soooo hawt" hahaha and they all laughed and told me how dumb it was and to put it back
but then i decided to finish off the outfit with a beige mini skirt and went to change...when i came back they were staring at me and i laughed..."haha sweet...it's THAT bad eh" *huge smile* then someone pipes up: "no jackie...actually...it looks kinda good..."
so of course i had to find some shoes...but apparently all girls wear like a five hundred inch heel..? so it was just dumb and we left
we pissed off the people at the store sooo much too...maybe they were just freaked out having 10 teenagers in the store...especially such sketchy characters as us...lol (we are seriously the least sketchy, most normal looking ppl...so i really don't know what their problem was...maybe just cuz they worked at le chateau..? haha)


we also took some pics in the whale there
basically acted like tourists the whole time, even though half the kids live in the west end and work in the mall or just go there a lot....it was grand



and today i got free pizza and a golf tee :) just for being a peer tutor...lmao

highlights of the day:

found out i only have two classes tomorrow (gonna skip first block...and there's this retarded thing we get out of class for; so basically...spare spare spare lunch spare class class)

went snowskating with two buds
which turned into seeing who could pull the dumbest shi*t
and tackling each other into the snow
and throwing each other into the snow...lol
good times

not to mention i got conditional acceptance into university =D =D =D =D =D
