Summer is almost over and I for one and pretty stoked. Don't get me wrong, I love the warm weather and all the debauchery that comes with it but after 2-3 months of dealing with stupid tourists, I'm ready for things to cool off around here. The good side of it is that we're less than 100 days away from snowboard season. Big White officially opens in 84 days according to my calendar. I'm hoping to get a pass there again this year but it'll require some serious condo buying to get that done...I've got the parents convinced that it's a good investment but not sure if everyone can afford it at this point. If that falls through, Tori and I will give the Apex scene a shot. At least there's a lot less driving involved even though I'm pretty sure the road to Apex is one of the 7 deadliest objects known to man (right behind cancer but slightly ahead of a dog raised by Michael Vick).

In other news, I've been neglecting Stomp pretty big time all summer. I'm supposed to finish this years movies on Saturday but I haven't even started it yet. Can you say Christmas deadline?!? We didn't get as much footage this year though so it'll probably suck more than usual. The site is behaving badly to and seems to have some sort of snowboard sex ad on it right now. I'm pretty sure I'm just going to can the whole thing. To much effort at this point. Ah well. It's been a fun ride. Maybe we'll keep it going on more of an underground level.

See you when the snow starts to fly.

Snowboarding is dead to me...and then it comes back like some sort of shred zombie...without all the "it's eating my brain" type of thing.  Tori and I are officially booked for Banff May long weekend now.  It's gonna be weird hitting the snow after about a month and a half of summer fun.  I'm excited though.  Gonna meet up with some of the Stomp crew and rock out to BCDC all weekend.  Yesssssssssssssssssssss

Yesterday I answered the age old question: will the warning sign at the top of Apex's halfpipe stop a 200lb snowboarder sliding on his back. The answer is no, it will not. I wiped out into the signage at the top of the halfpipe after some poor rut negotiation on my part. The end result was a bruised rib, a faceful of slush, a tangled piece of rope, and a warning sign that was sheared off at the base.  Sorry for wrecking your sign Apex.

In other news, I'm stoked on fest-of-ale this Saturday. Hopefully everyone else makes as much of an ass of themselves as I plan on doing...

Well, it's a skating rink out there but it's the last chairlift weekend so might as well make the best of it.  Anyone going to Biggie or Apex this weekend?

Anyone want to hit Biggie on Sunday?  Lemme know, I'm tired of riding solo.

Scratch that...it's raining and foggy and pure suck.  Lasted all of 3 hours today before giving up in favor of warmer/dryer palces (ie: my sister's apartment)  Oh, in case you weren't aware, late 180s are the new 360.  Grabbing your board while carving is also a pretty big deal.

Also, all Penticton peeps mark Nov. 1 as a day to watch for the beginning of a new turf war.  "The Pentagon"...sounds more like a strip club to me.

It's been a hectic past couple of weeks and I'm finally catching up with myself.  I took a 6 day vacation about a week ago to meet up with some friends in Cranbrook and ride along the way.  The plan was to hit 6 mountains in 6 days (dubbed the 6-6 tour) I'll try to summarize what happened.

Day 1: I arrived in Golden late Wednesday just as a few flakes were starting to fall.  After a couple of beers and a good nights rest, I woke up to about 15 cm of unexpected snow.  Jackpot!  Got gnarly at Kicking Horse.  I'm convinced that something was lost in translation when they named the resort...probably got a horse confused with a donkey because that place was definiately kicking ass.  (It took me all trip to come up with that)  Anyways, next time I'll try to hook up with someone that knows the hill because it's pretty intimidating going to a ledge and not knowing whether it'll be the customary 5 foot drop to the run or maybe a 30 foot rock cliff.  The best riding I did was actually on the tamer front side of the hill through some fun, weed-covered areas.  Their park had some fun beginner kinked boxes to.  Oh, and side note: Tuna sandwiches are really f*cking expensive at this place.  They're good but not $7 good.  Anyways, I decided to book it to Banff for the night and after checking out the shops in town, I ended up drinking some beers with the locals in Wild Bills before finally passing out at Bumpers Inn.  Good start to the trip.

Day 2: I visited my old stomping ground in Banff.  Sunshine had it's typical perfect snow conditions under bluebird skies.  I did the usual routine of warming up by fooling around on the Standish hit runs then straight lining the divide into the park.  I was pretty stoked on how much the park has improved over the past 2 years.  My favorite feature was easily the wall ride which everyone else seemed to forget about.  After that, I headed out-of-bounds to hike the back door for some powder turns and natural features.  It's awesome being able to stop and take a piss with a view of the rockies.  Had lunch and drinks at the bottom pub aroudn 1 before heading back up for some more hiking and fun shredding.  After the day was done, I headed to Cranbrook under a full moon to meet up with the Calgary crew for some late night beers and story telling.

Day 3: Kimberely was a new hill for me.  I've never been there or even seen a picture of the place so I really had no idea what to expect.  Turns out the hill is super old school with just a high speed quad, a triple, and a double.  It was warm and sunny which turned the snow to mush by the time we'd bought our tickets and geared up.  Did a couple runs on the quad to start with Elise, Peter, Jeff, Lana, and Mara.  Elise is still learning so Jeff, Lana, and I bailed after 3 groomers and hit up the Easter and Tamarack chairs.  Found some fun tree runs  far shredders left with lots of drops, stashes, and natural jibs.  I was pretty stoked on Lana who rides better than most of the girls I've seen.  We met up with the others for lunch beers on the patio.  Elise was beat so Peter came with us for the afternoon.  Stoked!  The guy hits pretty much everything he can...I love riding with people like that.  More trees and hit runs til the chairs shut down.  Side note: all girls should have their stagettes on hill dressed in 80s retro onsies.  Loved it.  Then it was back to Peter's parents place to drink his dad's beer, eat his mom's caseroles, and soak in their hot tub.

Day 4: I woke up early excited to ride Fernie.  I haven't been there in about 12 years so I was pretty excited when I came down for brekfast.  Peter was the only other person who emerged from the depths mumbling something about people being hungover.  Whatever.  The two of us headed out and, after gearing up in the parking lot I realized I had forgotten my wallet in Cranbrook.  f*ck!  One swipe of Peter's visa later, we were headed straight to the top of the Lizard Bowl.  To get there you have to ride this rope tow with a sign that says "experts only" at the bottom of it.  I felt weird asking the liftie how to ride the damn thing because I don't think I ever really tried one before.  Most places leave the rope tows for the bunny hill but then again, Fernie isn't like most places.  The snow was pretty mushy again (+5 temps) so after a couple of slashers in "hot pow", we headed down to meet up with everyone else who brought my wallet with them!  Phew!).  Did some butter-filled laps on some easy green run with Elise and tried to do cartwheels which ended in a whole bunch of face wash.  Jeff, Lana, and I took off again and checked out the Cedar Bowl.  Nothing special went down other than the usual goofing off and getting lost.  Lana's front knee is pretty weak from past surgery/blow out so we were kind of choked when we ended up at some tbar by accident but she managed.  Elise hurt her tailbone or something so Peter came out with us after lunch just in time to watch some av blasting.  I've never been that close to it before...all I remember was it being a really loud bang and yelling woo in unison with everyone else on the hill.  Hit some fun gullies and log jibs and rode right to the end as usual.  I'd definiately go back there again.  Fernie is rad.  Said good byes in the parking lot and headed to my next stop: Nelson!

Day 5: Whitewater is henceforth known as Wetwater.  With the onslaught of slush falling from the sky mixed with temperatures hovering just above zero, I was pretty much soaked before I had even strapped in for my first run.  Whitewater was another new hill for me and it was exactly what I expected it to be: quaint little lodge with 2 double chairs, and barely any sign that someone else was on the hill with you.   It's very Baldy-esque.  The chairs felt like they were barely supporting your weight which is sort of creepy but you forget about it when you see the terrain around.  I spent most of the time on the Summit Side throwing sloppy turns on sloppier pow.  Some of my best runs were hiking in Catch Basin or dropping the trees shredder's right of Blast.  (Yes I had to consult a map for that run name)  There were some fun rock drops visible from the chair but once again, I felt like no one else noticed.  More for me!  Oh, and I'd like to note that pretty much everywhere you go, you'll end up riding a run with an avalanche caution sign.  I ate this amazing masterpiece of a burrito for lunch in the lodge pub.  If you are ever there, try it...the yam fries are worth the extra dollar.  After soaking both sets of gloves and jackets, I called it quits and went to check out the boardshops in Nelson and hang out in the Villa Motel where I was shacked up.

Day 6: If you're ever heading to Rossland from Nelson, you're supposed to turn off somewhere around Castlegar.  Now you know.  I didn't.  I was almost at Grande Forks before I realized what was going on and why I hadn't reached Red yet.  Oops!  I figured I would stop at Phoenix Mountain instead but they are closed Tuesday so it wasn't long before I was passing through Penticton on my way to Apex for the afternoon.  I was super stoked on the pipe and bombing the groomers off Stocks chair.  I wasn't so stoked on the crowd of Keg employees that had taken over the hill but I did see two girls chest bump over a volleyball game so it wasn't a complete loss.  I was kind of sad that I could't find anyone to ride with in my own hometown but people have jobs and stuff so c'est la vie.

That's it.  I'll post some pictures from the trip if anyone care.  I just chilled this weekend because the conditions were pretty much shi*te at biggie.  Only a few weeks left and it's starting to feel like spring is finally here.  Party on...

Switched things up and rode Baldy today.  All the morning snow reports showed no fresh and pretty blah webcams but once we got to the hill, sweet peanut butter pie it was snowy!  They're probably gonna fire the snow report guy because it was dumping and there was uber dry fresh pretty much everywhere you went.  We made fresh tracks all day long from 9 til last chair.  Tried to get some slasher shots but it was kind of white light so they didn't turn out as well as they could have.  Awesome day though...I think I'll go back for some more tomorrow...

Welcome to another Monday "the day after" blog. This weekend consisted of 3 things: sleep, some driving, and shredding. My weekend officially began at 4:30 Friday and I was strapped in 45 minutes later at the base of the Apex tbar. Tori and I raced around ye olde tbar dodging jean clad american skier dudes and looking for new ways to exploit the single run open on $5 fridays. Then we drove home, put on a movie and fell asleep.

Woke up semi-early Saturday morning and drove to Big White. It was scattered clouds with temperatures around freezing. We did a couple of warm up hit runs before heading to Pegasus off the top of the Bullet. No one ever wants to go down there because of the 3 minute walk along the cat track at the bottom but that's just fine with me. I actually had a couple of semi-respectable powder slashes despite the current snow drought. After that we headed over to the Cliff chair and Tori did the face for the first time. She still had to side slip the main face but was carving at the bottom. Pretty rad. The snow sucked balls though so we only stuck around for a couple of runs. Ate lunch in the bakery (I recommend the chili bread bowl) and spent the afternoon exploring the tbar area hopping off snow ghosts. Took a power nap in the car before night shredding. The park was pretty quiet except for a rail jam near the bottom. The fog rolled in in a hurry just as tori showed up with the camera. Video'd a few shots on the rails but nothing spectacular. Ditched the camera for the last hour and just did laps before calling it a night.

Drove up early Sunday to drop Amber off so she could meet up with Keith and Jana before they had to do the volunteer thing. The conditions were super plain. Cloudy but not to cloudy. Windy but not to windy. A tiny bit of sun, a tiny bit of snow, and a ton of the same thing we've had for the past 2 weeks. Anyways...I rode some solo laps through the park for a few hours until meeting up with some other peeps around noonish. Ate the crushed granola bar from my leg bag (it was more like cereal in a wrapper) and after lunch it was all rock stalls, rollers, side hits, and tourist hating. I was acting as a bit of a tour guide but I think I did a lousy job because I kept losing half the crew behind me. Oh well. Shout out to Mike and Dave for the shred...next time we'll hit Baldy so you can show me around. Stopped by Keith and Jana's place on the way home for some BBQ. Only 97 hours til I get to do it all over again...

I spent the weekend at Big White in a condo my parents rented for my sister's birthday. I felt pretty important to sleep with my head so close to the run outside. Like I was some sort of village VIP instead of the village riff raff I actually am...anyways, we drove up Friday but got in to late to do any shredding.  So we drank and played some games with the family instead. Woke up Saturday to some clearing skies, warm temps, and a little fresh snow. Amber, Tori, and I showed the parents around the mountain managing to ride almost every chair on the hill except the Plaza but it sucks anyways. After the lunch beers, we ran into Keith and Jana at the Ridge and hauled ass with them for the rest of the day. I got annoyed with my sister's run choice of groomer after groomer but it's her birthday so who am I to ruin it for her.

After shredding, we went back for a hot tub which was pretty much man soup. Nothing like hanging out with 12 old hairy men in a hot tub that seats maybe 8 comfortably. Keith and I drank their beer though so it wasn't a total loss. After that, Keith and I headed out to the park for a couple of hours. There was a comp in the pipe the next day so it was actually pretty busy but no one was doing the regular jumps and rails so we just lapped that. The best features of the night were the down box, the garbage can bonk line, and the quad-barrel rainbox-flat rail. No major spills, just fun...oh, keith ate shi*t on the trip down to the park. He tried to blame it on beer but no one ever buys that shi*t. After shredding, we got drunk(er). I did a mean impression of Frankenstein doing the wave during some game Jana brought up. I hope they got that on film.

Sunday was foggy. Snow softened up around 930 when we got our asses on the hill. We cruised around in the 7-man congo line for a while before my dad disappeared and the crew split up for lunch. Tori and I didn't want to go in yet so we explored the Powder Chair trees and found some fun little chutes. Tori had her camera so maybe some pictures turned out ok. When we went to leave at the end of the day, the fire alarm went off while we were waiting for the elevator with all our gear on those airport style trolleys. I ended up carrying 3 trips worth of bags and snowboard gear down 6 floors to the parkade. Lame.

The good nes is that I inherited a second computer from my dad's company. I guess they had to get rid of a spare so he hooked me up. I now have a Stomp PC dedicated for website, graphics, and videos. Now if only he had hooked me up with a power cord to, then I'd be in business.

Guess I should stop wasting company time...later.

I'm back from Whistler/Blackcomb after a pretty exhausting weekend.  Tori and I Left Penticton 4:30 Thursday after work and booked it over the coquihala, through vancouver, and up the sea to sky finally getting into Whistler around midnight.  It wasn't a bad drive but it took a while.

Woke up semi-early Saturday to go shredding on Blackcomb. It was a beautiful bluebird day with snow that was icy as hell.  I was pretty disappointed to discover that the best free riding was a no-go.  Got to see a lot of the groomers and cat tracks riding pretty much every chair on the hill.  We didn't bother going into the park at all but saw some of the action in the Nintendo park while riding one of the chairs.  Waiter, I'll have another serving of that tasty humble pie you're serving.  The other thing I noticed was that going 6 wide on a skinny cat track is no big deal down there.  Crowded runs like that are kind of f*cked.  Oh, and Tori got big time leg cramps at the top of seventh heaven right at the end of the day.  Worst last run ever!

We had a way better day Saturday over on Whistler.  It started snowing mid-morning right when we got to the top of the Peak chair.  Did some of the longest runs I've ever done that day.  We did the math afterwards and in total we rode about 18,000 vertical in a total of 5 runs.  Watching Wayne getting gripped on the Peak chair was the moment of the day.  I don't know if I've been on a chair like that before.  After shredding we got our drink on, watched the game, played some poker, and eventually went to Buffalo Bill's to blur the night away.  Tori won the award for best lesson when she took ulcer medication between paralysers.  What a dumb ass.

Woke up in my top bunk (I love top bunk) on Sunday morning to the news that there was a landslide on the sea to sky just north of Horseshoe Bay.  Sounded like things weren't going anywhere that way so we decided to drive through the Pemberton way.  I've heard the horror stories and lucky for me, they weren't quite that bad.  No bear maulings or militant protestors or anything like that, just a windy road covered in ice rain and littered with pot holes.  40km/hour for 3 hours = white knuckles on the steering wheel.  The drive from Kamloops to Vernon was as sketchy as it can get when you add fog and darkness to the ice rain/mud/pothole mix.  10 hours of driving later, I was back in Penticton, glad to be back.

Next: Big white condo party for my sister Friday...stay tuned.

So the time has finally arrived. I'm mature enough, responsible enough, and I think I can handle it physically...I'm finally going to lose my Whistler virginity. We're leaving tomorrow after work heading down for a couple days. I'm really looking forward to this one.

Goddam my sister has bad taste in movies...so to avoid them, I blog.  Heeeeeeeere we go...

Been doing a lot of shredding lately.  Had a solid weekend last weekend at Apex on Friday night then biggie Sat/Sun.  Friday was cold and I got accosted by a women's hockey team in the gun barrel.  Saturday sort of sucked.  Foggy, cold, windy as hell...had better days but at least we were there.  Tori and I had a fun bluebird day Sunday and did some filming.  I was really impressed with the colours in the shots and am pretty happy with the end result.  Did a little video clip up for the stomp site.  Go check out "Mr Golden Sunday".

Big White got a much needed dump of snow the past day or 2 to coincide with a day off work thanks to some banked time.  Rode today in about a foot of pow with Tori and Amber.  Tori wasn't feeling so hot so she was done at lunch and Amber bailed by 2:30 but that's ok.  No sisters or girlfriends on pow days right?  Has some awesome runs down Blue Saphire and in the Black Forest trees.  It snowed all day and is supposed to keep going so tomorrow should be another early wake up call.

Also started planning my annual week-long trip.  Looks like I'm doing the kootenay loop at the end of february starting at Kicking Horse and cycling down to Fernie, Kimberley, Whitewater, Red Mountain and finally meeting up with Tori in Grand Forks to check out Phoenix Mountain by her uncles place.  Phoenix is small but Tori really wants to check it out this year so I'm kind of looking forward to it.  Rumor has it her uncle has a hot tub and beer for me.  I'll take that vibe.  I'm hoping Peter, Elise, or Bits might be able to meet up with me at KH or Fernie but we'll see.  Matty might be down to depending on how busy he is with his new job.  Worst case scenario: solo trip.  Not like that hasn't been done before.

Whistler is only 2 weeks away now.  Everyone is pretty excited.  Apparently Tori, Wayne, and I are in charge of breakfast on Friday morning...that means that Tori's basically making breakfast while Wayne and I drink apple juice and make fun of each other.  She has basically told me to stay out of the way for fear that I'd f*ck things up...the funny part is that she's probably right.

Looks like the girls are settling in for the long haul with this crappy movie.  I'm told it's "Last Kiss"...looks like I'm going to put in some time with the computer tonight.  Until next time, I love you all.

Finally feeling healthy again after a week of runny nose so I checked out Apex with Wayner.  Tons of soft snow but the wind was blowing most of it up into my face.  Flew the Days of Thunder every chance I got.  My favorite runs were under the triple chair where the wind would take the tiniest roost and make it look huge and incredible so anyone watching instantly thought you were a snowboarding god.  Wayne is way better than he made me believe so I'm pretty stoked to ride with him on the Whistler trip in 3 weeks.  Yeehaw!

Time to get ready for Tori's Christmas party.  Who has their christmas party in January...the Penticton Ramada, that's who!  Later.

Happy New Year!

Feeling pretty burned out right now after putting some serious miles on my legs/body.  Rode Friday at big white with Tori.  Pretty standard day really.  Went to Rakkel's at the end of teh day for drinks and some pizza before heading back to spend yet another night on Amber's air mattress.

Got up early Saturday and drove to Silver Star to meet up with Rob.  Perfect weather and pretty awesome day.  The highlights were the monster rollers off the 6-pack and the garbage can bonks in the park.  Never seen a park feature like that so we had a pretty fun time on those.  Spent the night at Amber's after watching the game at Baxters in Kelowna.

Sunday hit up Biggie with Tori, Amber, and Robby.  The park was perfect.  So were the log jibs and tree bonks in the black forest glades.  Tori hit the funboxes for the first time which I was pretty stoked to see.  Also did some fun rips through the superpipe.  Rode the uninc again and decided I'm going to keep it around for days like these.

Today was kind of the shi*ts.  Woke up pretty tired and sore and headed to biggie where it was cold, windy, and foggy.  Met up with Keith and Jana for some cruisers.  Did about 5 runs and a couple of park laps before calling it quits.  I'm beat.

Now I have about 2 weeks worth of stomp updates to do.  Good thing I have nothing going on this week...

Back in Penticton now.  Working the next couple of days before heading off to Silverstar/Big White to shred with Mr. Nuttal.  Pretty excited to hang out with him again since whiffle didn't happen this summer.  Plus maybe he'll realize how good life is up here and decide to stay.  I'm not holding my breath on that one though...at least I'll show him some new terrain.

Going to Apex tonight to check out some jib jam and test out the new camera.  I hope they have some decent lighting set up but we'll see.  Haven't really cared about this sort of thing much before so I'm just going to play it by ear.  Might even do some shredding while I'm up there but it'll be a game time decision.

Here comes my boss...gotta fake working now.

MERRY CHRISTMAS EVERYBODY!  It's been a shred-tacular start to my holiday the past couple of days hitting up Big White Thursday, Stompfest 3 at Harper on Friday, and then Sun Peaks Saturday

Big White was foggy Thursday so I ditched the Gem Lake opening and ran laps over the Telus Park jibs.  I tried a few new things like a 50-50 the down-flat-down for the first time and a butter to switch FS boardslide combo on a kiddie box.  I have never really jibbed much so I was pumped on that.

Stompfest was a bit of a let down as half the team bailed last minute.  Jana and Keith didn't get away from Kelowna til late and Alysia straight up ditched.  Lame!  Harper was good though...the jumps in the park had perfect transitions and the jibs were all doable even for my lackluster skills.  Did a couple runs in the dark which is a weird feeling.  Also, riding t-bars switch is a lot harder than it seems like it would be.

I rode some crazy deep pow at Sun Peaks today with Tori, Erin, and my parents.  Doesn't get any better than that.  Spent the whole day doing mid-station runs on the chief, sunnyside, kukamongas or in the crystal bowl.  It was like everyone else forgot it existed.  Sick day for sure.  Hopefully it keeps coming down for Christmas Day.  Gonna set up the boxes tomorrow or maybe set something else up in the yard.  We'll see how lazy I feel...

Big Powder Thursday versus opening day of Gem Lake...I'm so torn.  I'm leaning towards Gem Lake because it hasn't snowed at Baldy in the past couple days.  Ugh.

So who here has been on the last pair of clean underwear and instead of doing laundry, goes night shredding?  Looks like I'm bare-ballin it tomorrow now that the laundry room in my apartment is locked down.  Was it worth it?  Without a doubt.

Rode my first night at Apex tonight.  Best $5.35 I ever spent.  The snow was super deep and didn't even get tracked out all that fast.  Stoked.  Spent the night poaching the buried moguls coarse and seeing how big of a roost I could throw at people on the Tbar.  Some random dude gave me a high five after one lap when he was chasing me.  He was kind of a claimer but whatever, high fives are high fives.  I got called in to work tomorrow which sucks but I get to experience my first big powder thursday next week.  Looking forward to it...maybe I'll even have clean boxers by then.

Time to eat some mandarine oranges.

I got kind of bored at work so I designed a simple funbox...
Overall dims 96"x24"x18" tall.  2"x2"x3/16" HSS steel tube construction with 2" pipe coping.  The legs are gussetted with sheared mild steel doublers.  Top sheet is made of 1/4" thick puckboard mounted to plywood with counter-sunk self-tapping screws.  The playwood is bolted to tabs at critical corners and spacings.  Overwall weight is ~135lb without side sheeting.

Maybe I should start engineering jibs instead of rig chassis...hmmmmmm

I'm sitting in my sister's apartment right now listening to her turn the pages of some biology textbook.  Man, I am so glad to be done with that whole scene.  Anyways, I'm bored as hell at the moment so I'm writing this little diddy.  Spent the day at big white today.  I should figure out more interesting ways to say that because I've been saying it a lot lately.  Rode with Tori in the morning and by myself in the afternoon.  No new snow and no park yet so I was roller hunting most of the day.  They even took down the secret table and rainbow.  Total bullshi*t but I guess they're in the right.  I was smacked my head up prety good on a botched high speed backside shifty attempt.  First time I rung my bells pretty good in a while...not since wakeboarding this summer at least.  Took it kind of easy the rest of the day after that...dropped into Sams at the end of the day while I was waiting for my sister.  It was my first time in there this year...kind of pathetic of me.  Maybe I'm getting to old for that shi*t.  Maybe I'm better off hanging out in some lounge playing shuffle board with grey haired men telling stories of "back when I was young".  Nah, f*ck that noise.

Oh, I bought a helmet today.  Figured that I should get a new one since the one I had is abotu 3 seasons old and has been through a lot.  Went with a schmancy white one that's super snug and steezy.  Ya boiiiiiiiii.

Going up tomorrow early with Keith and Tori.  Tori has to work at the Ramada at 4 so she's taking off around 1ish so it'll be just my and Keither in the afternoon.  He's not going to like the missing rainbow...but we'll do some laps on the hit run and he'll get over it.  Jana and Amber are jealous because they have a test Monday and are doing the responsible thing and studying (suckers!).  Oh, and I'm super stoked for new years this year.  My old UBC roommates is coming up and we're shredding Silverstar one day and Big White one day.  I love riding with him because he's the one that got me re-stoked on snowboarding.  Plus he makes me look good in comparison (just kidding Nutty if you're readimg this).  In conclusion, cariboo are big.

Peas.

I'm going to biggie on Saturday if anyone wants to meet up.  (THIS MEANS YOU!)  I told Amber I'd give her a ride so I'm committed to that hill and it turns out all the usual suspects are working.  So if you're interested, let me know...otherwise it'll be an Ipod kind of day.  I better load it up with AFI, Thrice, and some snowboard video songs just in case.

It snowed last night and I'm member of the day...hot damn!  It's a good day.

What a past few days it's been.  The christmas party was pretty insane.  Started with dinner at the golf course, followed by lots of drinks, some dancing at the mule, the post-bar trip to dennys, then ended up staying at the Ramada crashing sometime around 5am.  Pretty fun.  Got up the next morning a little late and drove to biggie with Tori.  Spent the afternoon on the black forest AKA the Ham Sandwich.  Fun as usual.  Slept at Ambers and went to big white again today with Amber, Keither, and Janana.  Overcast but trying to be sunny.  No new snow but lots of little hits to mess with.  Slid a super secret rainbow box a few times and had my first scorpion of the year.  Also penguin slid over a rock.  Another ouch.  Good day though.  Brought out the camera in the afternoon but it's broken so I didn't get many shots with it.  I'll download the ones I did get when I'm back in Penticton.  Couch surfed again tonight and going to biggie again with tori...all I know is I'm getting some mcdonalds breakfast on the way.

Man, I'm bored....so I found this!

In other news, the Silver Bullet and the Ham Sandwich are opening up this weekend so it looks like I'll be making a visit to the TLGs soon.  Yay!  Plus I get the extra bonus of having Monday off so if anyone actually reads this, then you should meet me on Monday at the Big Whiteout.  I think Dylan is coming.  He talks the talk so we'll see if he can...shred the shred?

Oh, and tomorrow is my christmas party for work.  Last year I tried to drink out of the golf course trophys and left wearing a sombrero.  It'll be hard to beat that performance but I'll try me best.  Only booze will tell.

(my font only comes in black...what the f*ck?)

I'm going to look for a better word to describe the way things went down for me this morning because 'epic' simply isn't enough.

Got up at 6am with Tori to get ready for opening day at Big White.  Left my sister's apartment in Kelowna half an hour later and rolled into the Ridge Rocket parking lot around 7:30 to see a single lonely car parked at the far end of it.  Yup...we had the first chair of the season.  Some other local girl named Nicki got there before us...and the australian dude who rolled up fourth got booted because he forgot his pass.  We all felt bad but no friends on pow days.  Tori told me to go and I did...running none stop face shots down Paradise in knee deep pow for my first run at biggie of the year.  It was radgnawesometasticalistic.  Did about 4 more runs of that, hitting the upper distributor cliff first time, making tracks all over exhibition, and even ran into Dan for a few runs.  Caught up with Tori around 10:30 when things were getting tracked out and started rolling down highway 33 ducking into the trees and hunting all the stashes.  Was so burned out at the end of the day but so satisfied with the overall experience that I'm claiming this the best opening day I've had at any resort ever.

Can't wait for tomorrow....
