x games 11 presented some real surprises this year, but all in all ended up being a great contest. 4 peater janna meyen was out with a hurt ankle and our own natasza zurek was down with some pulled muscles and rib issues. the course was pretty intimidating because of speed issues which resulted in very few girls hitting the big side of the course. in qualifiers it was jamie andersons solid and smooth style over the big side that landed her in the top qualifier spot. marie france roy's tech moves on the jumps earned her second spot and it was erin comstocks tech rail tricks and smooth style that earned her the third qualifier spot.
finals only had a few of ladies hitting the big side of the course, which weighed in heavy with the judges. jamie's big, smooth 180's and 360's and her solid rail skills earned her a high score in the first run, putting her above hana beaman. hana threw down a solid first run, with a huge backside 540 over the gap jump. in her second run she tried to up jamie with a massive backside 7 over the second table, unfortunately going down hard. chanelle sladics one uped sylvia mittermuller's frontside 7 and switch back three to take the bronze. other girls like marie france roy, leanne pelosi and erin comstock all threw down solid runs, however they weren't enough to put them on the podium. good work to all the ladies in finals, i'll see you all next year!
oh and seriously...someone start looking at our stupid page. i'm getting over this.
love the runway crew.
so the girls and i are our here in aspen, colorado for winter x 11...pretty exciting. for some veterns like tara it's the usual x games but for myself it's my first one and i'm acting like a total 12 year old, not to mention a total tourist...yes i do own a fanny pack and yes i do say sorry pronouced with an 'o' and washroom...what's it to you? anyways, the course looks pretty good, kinda hard to get speed, a lot of tucking is going on, but besides that it's good times. this morning is qualifiers so wish us all luck please. also wish priscilla levac and mary sallah a swift recovery as pris fractured her ankle and mary possibly blew out her knee.
in other news, the women's halfpipe finals were last night and i bet you all wish you had of been here. the girls were killing it and pushing things to the next level, which meant a lot of girls went down in their first runs. for most they got it together for their second. elena hight pulled a sick bs 900 indy to back to a front 5 melon and then finishing things off with a huge fs 720 JAPAN! sooo sick, go little e! gretchen beiler's first run landed her in first place with a huge fs 900, crippler seven and back to back 5's. however it was torah bright's 2nd run that earned her x games gold! torah pulled out a huge air to fakie tail grab first hit into a cab 720, then a giant mctwist into a backside 3 and a switch backside 5 at the end of her run! the aussi's were going crazy! good work torah! you killed it and we're all so stoked for you! hannah teter landed in fourth spot, just missing the podium with emanula pesko in the fifth spot. good work to all the ladies and best of luck to all the girls who compete in slope today...go kill it!
love the runway crew.
ps. go check out the website and watch the new teaser...ohh snap!
alright, what's up? i hope everyone's new years was a blast and that all your resolutions come true. most of the girls are out in colorado right now for the session or x games. priscilla, leanne, amber, lexi, christy, nat, myself and a few others all attended the zumiez100k and needless to say we all had a great time. that shop treats their employees good, i'd be so pumped to get to go to that. unfortunatly for us canadians we don't have zumiez so unless you're a "professional" of some sort you probably won't get the chance to go. anyways, it was a 1000 drunk zumiez employees and a bunch of wasted skaters, snowboarders and surfers all having a good time. really rad party with super fun people. some of the girls will be competing in the session rail jam tomorrow night which will eventually air on nbc, so go check it out! erin couldn't make it because she's been slaying rails in sweden and finland...good work girl! i wish all the ladies the best of luck in the next couple of weeks, go kill it! anyways, come comment and check out the page...its in need of some love!
forever yours,
the runway crew.
what the title says! hope everyone had a great one filled with wine and kisses.

ahem, hello. welcome to the new runway films snowboard dot com page. my name's spencer and i'll be your regular updater. anyways, the new production is up and running and the girls have been busy filming. the utah girls have been getting their jib on while the whistler crew has been riding steady pow. we're working on a hot teaser that should be available for your viewing pleasure around the second week of january (no promises though, so don't hold me to anything).
if anyone is out of the snowboard gossip loop, then you probably have no clue what runway is or that the beloved misschief films sadly decided to not make a new movie. huge props to amber and fabia for all their hard work over the past two years, they did so much for women's snowboarding and we can't thank them enough. so with no filming opportunities for the fairer sex in sight, leanne pelosi decided to take things into her own hands and bring together a tight knit crew of babes to make a brand new company.
so here we are...filming our butts off and playing in way too much pow. be stoked...we're making a sweet movie and you're all going to get the hot updates weekly (or maybe weekly..we'll see about that). keep it real kids, and keep checking in.
peace and love.
the runway crew.
