About Me

The Latest News...(2/3/07)
hey rad kids,
Saturday. Got a nice 2-3 inches last night - a perfect departure gift for our dear friend and amazingly talented graphic designer/aerobics instructor Eva, who is leaving us to take a job with Red Bull. GOOD LUCK EVA!!!<br>
Half Moon and Sayonara parks are still going strong. Sugar Jib has been open for three days and is super duper fun - down box, apex box, flat to down rail, down c rail, 10' table, and a wallride. Check out the video below to see some of the work that our park crew put into building it. Great Northern is open with a Downflatdown rail, Flat down box, 1 hit, and a 27ft flat rail. Khyber and Indian are also open, though with no features. YET. Remember, you'll need your park pass to get in there, so stop by the pass shack at the top of the Cab to pick yours up...

Check back here or on mountaincreek.com after 10am daily for updates.

Words of Wisdom

Deep inside a cave below Granite Peak exists a top secret lab, guarded by metal crunching machines, where masters of metallurgy and torch-ology sweat night after night, conjuring up grandiose visions of terrain park features never before seen by human eyes. It is here that a very select few dedicated riders and freeskiers put their construction skills to the test, building one-of-a-kind custom features for the upcoming winter season. As Autumn begins to fade into Winter, a sharp nighttime eye may catch these workers as they emerge from their lab under the cover of darkness to transport their features to their temporary resting grounds throughout the mountain. No, we don't order our park features over the phone. We build them. The JibLab.

go big or go home.

..a note to everone who takes the time to read this....
we know that the weather this "winter" sucks. it is painfully obvious each time we look out our window towards the hill. we also know that each and every one of you is super bummed about it - from the hardcore season pass holders to the ones who decided that this will be the season that you're finally gonna learn. we honestly, truly, 100% appreciate everyone's love for creek and your entheusiasm for the sport - it's what keeps everyone here stoked to come in everyday, to have awesome events and contests, and to build bigger and better and radicaler (look it up) features for you to jump, shred, jib, bonk, slash, rip, and destroy. all of you are the reason that we exist.
so, please believe us when we say that we are doing everything in our power to open - not just one trail, but the whole mountain. we're not just being sadistic by getting you to buy your passes and creek cards, teasing you with three features, then closing up shop. we're not simply tempting you with all of the pictures of wallrides, boxes, and rails sitting around the shop, then pointing and laughing when you realize that they're no use on dirt. that'd be like poking a stick at a caged spider monkey - not the best idea. the one big requirement of snowboarding and snow skiing is "snow" - both for movement and to hold them thar' boxes and rails in place. and snow doesn't like to stick around (or be created - see the "snowmaking 101" blog) when it's an all-time record of 72 degrees out.
right now, snowmaking weather still looks to be in the forecast, with seasonable cold finally arriving in about 12 days. we WILL be making snow at every opportunity we have, and we WILL be adding features as soon as the snow is down. Until then, remember that we truly appreciate everyone who rides at creek, and we're offering you the chance to stay on the snow, even if it's not here. Your season pass is good for FREE midweek tickets at Stratton and $25 weekend tickets thru Feb 2nd. We even made it so you can get a discounted price at Hunter - $30 with your MC pass. So please take advantage of these offers, and we'll be seeing you here real soon.
