Jeux d'enfants/Love Me If You Dare
i love this movie.
although the ending is killing me.
If you've seen this, i love you already.
lets chat. i don't understand.
My take on the ending:
Well the point of the end is that they were "together forever."
And i guess you can choose to believe one of two endings.
The cement or the flash backs.
After they are burried in cement they have flashbacks of every "almost" kiss they had, but this time kissing. And workers around the cement breaking the cement corners, which leads to the idea that they do get out.
Then they show them growing old in a home, in love, still playing the game.
The end is a complete departure from the reality of the rest of the movie and is purely symbolic; i chose to look at it as the idea that the two have managed to surpass all obstacles in the face of their love and have finally been able to come together.
even though the reality if that they died in cement.
What I thought about the ending was that they were finally able to be together in death as they never could in life. They are sealed together forever in cement, dreaming of the life they could have had if only they hadn't missed all those moments and made those mistakes that kept them apart throughout the movie.
Either way, they do have endless love. Which is what they wanted.
But...then again, when they show them in the cement. They are holding each other in a kiss, her hand on his shoulder and her pinky up....It wiggles.
God, i hate this.
