   "Yea, I'll have a Ballantine Ale." I said to the bartender. He returned shortly with my beer. I mumbled my thanks and paid him. I glanced quickly around the room as I shuffled to the back of the bar.
   One man caught my attention. Or, rather, we caught each other's attention, but why? This caricature of a used car salesman was staring at me. Or was he? He was the type of man who wore the same gray suit to work everyday, thinking his three rotating ties were variation. He was a failure of a businessman who spent his nights drinking gin and tonic.
   I quickly walked past him, keeping my eyes straight ahead in utter horror that he might say something to me. 
   "Need a light?" He said. My eyes widened in fear as I turned to look at him. He was looking across the room at a woman. He hadn't said that to me. After an eternity, I made it to my seat. I lit my cigarette and took a long pull. Exhale. I took another long pull. Thats it, hold the murderous smoke in my lungs, reap all it has to offer. My hands were trembling and I could not pick up my glass.
