A Youngblood, Whistler and the Crew

Monday, February 12, 2007
So what happens when you combine a new '07 Youngblood, Whistler Blackcomb and the St. Georges Snowboard Crew? Some pretty kick ass shi*t thats for sure. It all started on a beutiful Wednesday morning at 5:30. Getting up and ready to head for school for the annual Ski/Ride day at Blackcomb. We get to base two around 9 and we got off the bus and all met up with this instructor named Ben (whom I actually beleive is a stalker, I ran into him 2 times, one on saturday the other on sunday!) and hit up the Wizard chair. Once we got to the top of Solar Coaster we decided that we would hit up the good ol' Terrain Garden for a little bit of a warm up. To start things off I thought I would do some spins on some boxes so I did that, a little bit of a 270 on here and a 270 out there. Maybe I did a 450 on a spine or two, who knows! We decided to finally hit up the blue park on blackcomb. This is where we spent the rest of our day.  We were all laying down a few 3's and most of us (including myself) were trying to pull off 540's. I only managed to land 1/3 attempts.

Saturday/Sunday

So I came back up to Whistler Friday night to do some weekend riding. On saturday I met up with a good friend of mine, Ryan, also known as STD-Smurf and also the Captain of the Saints Snowboard Crew! We decided that hittin up Whistler park would be the best thing to do. And that it was! The setup at Whistler right now is epic! The tables were perfect for me to learn to stomp FS Indy 3's. By the end of the day I was landing them nearly every time. Not to mention two of the other Crew members, Shai and Ryan, were stomping their tricks as well! Sunday was a bit of a downgrade from saturday though. Ryan and I decided that it wasnt too much fun riding in flat conditions so we relaxed, watched the pipe comp and did a few mellow runs in the park.

That about sums up my weekend in a nutshell riding wise. Anyway, hoping to get some more riding in soon, Ill keep you all posted. Peace!
