Safety Gear.

Hey guys,
I've been having a read of some of the olders posts on here regarding safety equipment and had a few questions.
So far I know I'll need wrist guards (have had previous wrist injuries) and a decent helmet.
I've had a look at a few different brands and so far the 'Crash Pads' brand looks like decent quality (and it makes you look a little bit like batman). I smashed my knee on a rail the other day which isn't something I want to repeat.
A lot of people on here seem to rate the 'Flexmeter' wrist guards pretty highly so they're probably the best option in that department.
As for helmets - there's so many to choose from I wouldn't know which brand to go with.
I'm not a wealthy guy but I will fork out a bit if it means I dont break myself.
My questions are:
In your experience, what other gear is considered vital and what is a waste of time?
Which brands make decent kit for a good price?
Cheers!

Kiwis heading to Canada.

Hey guys,
A few of us are heading to Canada around march/april this year. At the moment we have no plans or schedule and will basically try and make it up as we go.
Any recommendations for good places to work with some primo boarding opportunities? (None of us have any instructing experience btw)
The other option I'm thinking about is to wait until august and go over with one of the working holiday groups and try score a job in whistler. They leave around august and would give me time to save up more funds.
Cheers! |
